Our Biggest Creditor {China} Tells Us "The good old days of borrowing are over"
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Birthplace o Independent Conservatism Liberty -vs- Tyranny As the chickens come home to roast... Unbelievable we have been this stupid. ( Reuters ) - Global leaders on Saturday arranged a round of emergency calls to discuss the twin debt crises in Europe and the United States that are causing turmoil in financial markets . After a week that saw $2.5 trillion wiped off global stock markets, they are under pressure to show political leadership and reassure markets that Western governments have both the will and ability to reduce their huge and growing public debt loads. French President Nicolas Sarkozy, who chairs the G7/G20 group of leading economies, conferred with Britain's Prime Minister David Cameron ahead of a call planned for this weekend by G7 finance ministers and central bankers. "They discussed the euro area and the U.S. debt downgrade. Both agreed the importance of working together, monitoring the situation closely

Rape - The crime of rape generally refers to non-consensual sexual intercourse that is committed by physical force , threat of injury, or other duress. Common law defined rape as unlawful intercourse by a man against a woman who is not his wife by force or threat and against her will. A sexual predator is a person seen as obtaining or trying to obtain sexual contact with another person in a metaphorically predatory or abusive manner. Pedophilia is considered a paraphilia, an "abnormal or unnatural attraction." Pedophilia is defined as the fantasy or act of sexual activity with prepubescent children. Pedophiles are usually men, and can be attracted to either or both sexes. How well they relate to adults of the opposite sex varies. Sexual harassment is bullying or coercion of a sexual nature, or the unwelcome or inappropriate promise of rewards in exchange for sexual favors. In most modern legal contexts, sexual harassment is illegal. As defined by th
As the Liberal/Progressive Media and Blogosphere Attempt To Destroy Governor Chris Christie...
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation U S A Purveyor of Truth As the liberal/progressive media and bloggers attempt to trash Governor Chris Christie of New Jersey over the George Washington Bridge lane closings, ostensibly because he is a formidable threat to their darling would be 2016 democratic presidential nominee Hillary Rodham Clinton, there remains NO EVIDENCE he had any involvement or was aware of the actions by his underlings. If Governor Christie indeed had no involvement in the closings, and at this point is is prudent to assume he didn't, the valid question is... should he have known? If we believe an executive sets the tone and culture for his administration then indeed the actions of his loyal staff at least become somewhat understandable. Wrong, but understandable. From NorthJersey.com Nothing in the approximately 2,000 documents released on Friday by the Assembly committee investigating the matter suggest that Christie knew of the lane-closure scheme beforeh

Is Our Democratic Republic At Risk From Forces Both Foreign and Within?...
We are moving this running post up to front page this evening where it will remain until January 3'rd 2017 when we will return to single posts, hopefully on a daily basis. There is much to do in getting the TRUTH out about Donald J Trump, a dishonest, totally self absorbed, and dangerous individual. He may be the president on January 20th but that does not mean thoughtful and concerned people shouldn't challenge Trump at every turn and fight his agenda whenever it runs contrary to their interests and those of their family. More to come. BTW, be sure to read today's entry, 12/28/16, below. this is just one example AND, it is just the beginning. You've probably noticed the brief posts of late. Posts with very short commentary by the weblolg administrator followed by an article that goes into the subject in much greater detail. This has been done purposefully following the rancorous 2016 election, and because its Christmas Time, soon to be a New Year. This posting f
Humor in Truth...
Rational Nation U S A Purveyor of Truth Eleven days into 2016 and still recovering from the hustle and bustle of the preceding year end holidays I was looking for something to get me back to normal and give me a great belly splitting laugh. But that laugh needed to be a laugh caused by something that was funny because of the great truths it held. Today that great belly splitting laugh happened. June 28, 2015 Jeff Landry, an aide to Donald Trump, scratched the back of his right leg with his left shoe, stalling. You have to answer just right , or he goes apeshit . Jeff remembered grimly what a pleasant change he’d thought this job would be, but now he looked back on those six harrowing weeks working for Harvey Weinstein like a long-ago Hanukkah. The question Trump had put to him was “How do we close this?” Jeff played it safe: “I say go big.” Trump lit up. “I can do big,” he said. “This whole thing, which was my idea, incidentally, and a very good idea, really a very gr
Obama the Socialist, or Is He? Listen to the Voice of One Who Knows...
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Liberty -vs- Tyranny at the 44th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival Every so often we have our views called into check. Whenever this happens the wise person considers the perspective, as well as the experiences of the person calling the entrenched views into check. In doing so one learns and therefor grows. At least that is how it should work. Milos Forman , the immigrant from Czechoslovakia who later won Academy Awards for best director for the films “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” and “Amadeus”, provides just such a check for America. He clearly, and accurately describes American politicians misunderstanding of totalitarianism and western European democratic socialism in his July 10th op-ed piece in the New York Times . He ends the article with a very poignant warning. Mr. Obama, and politicians of both major parties, as well as every American citizens ought to consider his words... and warning. More Thoughts On Reasonable Firearm Control...
by: Les Carprnter Rational Nation USA Liberty -vs- Tyranny In the wake of the Sandy Hook tragedy in which 20 innocent children lost their live to a sick and mentally unstable individual the subject of gun control has remained center stage. This is understandable, and as it should be. The pursuit of finding improved methods to better identify unstable individuals and thereby keep firearms out of the hands of such individuals is a worthy pursuit. As we consider how to deal with increasing societal violence we must find a happy medium that will both improve public safety and preserve our second amendment rights. It can be done, if both sides of the gun control debate will start listening to each other rather talking A T each other. We have heard from the NRA's Wayne LaPierre, who has offered essentially the same solution as the organization did in 2007. Put armed police guards in every school in America. Not anything most suburban and rural Mom's and Dad's will b
It's Going To Be Close, Brace Yourself For Continued Polarization of America, Especially if Obama Loses...
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Liberty -vs- Tyranny The race is close, very close, with the momentum shifting to Romney. However, my take is the shift, as significant as it has been, came too late and too little. Progressives no doubt are biting their nails because as much as they prefer not to acknowledge it, this one is a real cliff hanger. Reminiscent of 2000. It is true if Obama loses this one progressives throughout the land will be wailing and gnashing their teeth. For them it will be a great undoing of their greatest hopes and dreams. Of course the other fifty percent of America will view it quite differently. So, as the polls close tomorrow, and the tabulating of the vote goes late into the night, we can be sure of a few thing... The nation will remain polarized, the puppet masters behind the curtains will continue calling the shots, the debt and deficits will continue, no mater who wins. And America will continue to ask why. Tomorrow, as I visit my polli
During the 2nd night of a convention meant to unify and rally all Democrats around the party's feeble, hand-picked choice for President, Joe Biden, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., used her allotted 60 seconds to speak I guess that they were afraid that she might piss on their party at the convention by nominating Bernie Sanders, the Communist Party rep screwed AGAIN out of the nomination in yet another rigged primary, for President.
ReplyDeleteFYI, Bernie Sanders, a strong competitor to Joe Biden during the primary season, did not release his delegates so AOC, one of the democrats in the progressive wing of the party placed Sanders name in nomination. A purely procedural process. It has absolutely nothing to do with anybody "pissing" on their party.
DeleteBTW, Bernie Sanders is not a member of the Communist Party. He is an independent with democratic socialist principles. Your total misunderstanding of terms is not at all surprising as you are a trumper, and, like trump facts do not matter to you as they are considered fake news. Right?
This convention is not rigged. The party, through the primary voting process selected their nominee democratically, just as it should be. But if you wish to focus on rigged focus on trump and his overt efforts to suppress the-vote. Something rethuglicans regular attempt to do because they know without vote suppression their chances of winning the presidency is almost nil. That is rigging an election.
I know VERY WELL. Where Bernie Sanders stands. AND I chose to call him a DISGUSTING ROTTEN COMMUNIST
DeleteThat is fine TOM. You're certainly within your right to hold your OPINION. Even when it is an incorrect one. But, you are not entitled to your own"facts".
DeleteBut do have a god day.
President Clinton. The last president to sign a balanced budget. The last president to lower the deficit.
ReplyDeleteCertainly he had his moral failings, but let's remember... He rammed his budget through Congress over the wishes of the entire Republican Party, which said it would crash the economy and destroy the US. Not a single Republican voted in favor of the bill and the policies that made the Clinton Budget numbers a reality.
What does it mean? It means, as if we need more evidence, that the GOP policy of continuous cutting of tax rates does not work!
At some point, you need to raise revenue, just as a family learns sitting at the dinner table when they've eliminated the cable bill, switched all their lights to LEDs, have given up eating out, steak, the movies and every other "luxury".
Sadly, the GOP, in its current form, does not understand this simple fact.
Of course your observations are, as usual, factual and on target Dave.
DeleteDwight D. Eisenhower may very well been the VERY LAST republican president that was a conservative yet fully understood the truth you so accurately point out. Then there is his understanding of the dangers of the Military Industrial Complex. All things Dotard has no clue about. Nor does he care to.
RN... It's interesting. I've been following the story of Stuart Spencer, the former GOP Campaign consultant and founder of the Lincoln Project. In articles about him and his book, "It was all a Lie" he basically says the GOP since Reagan has been not about real policy, rather, it was about simply winning and accruing power. He points out that the GOP mantra of lower taxes has never worked, and even cited essentially what I posted above.
ReplyDeleteWhich of course, is exactly what Reagan Budget Director David Stockman admitted during the second Bush Admin.
The GOP has become a bad place, unable and unwilling to even try and communicate about their policies with people different from them.
For all of the reasons cited I chose to leave the republican party 15 years ago. I am now an independent and will remain so until the day I die. From party comes special interest(s) regardless of party. We see, in real, time, what that results in in the person of Donald J. Trump. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. DJT ran Trump management as an authoritarian business leader , just as an authoritarian head of state runs a nation. As Trump is attempting to do from he Oval Office. Just my opinion perhaps but it is how I see it.
DeleteIf the GOP collapsed after this election (it wont) I would not shed a single tear or give it a moments thought. Our country would become stronger and a better place IMO.
Tom... why do you, and people like you choose to call people names and make political disagreements personal? Bernie loves America. He sees problems we have and he proposes solutions. George W Bush loves America. He saw problems we had and proposed solutions. Joe Biden and Donald Trump love America, see our problems and propose solutions.
ReplyDeleteI don't have to agree with those solutions, but why impugn their love for America and call someone names. Why make it personal. For the life of me, I can't figure it out.
I don't like it from the left, and I don't like it from the right.
Ask your PAL Shaw that same question
ReplyDeleteAs Breitbart News reported earlier this week:
ReplyDelete“Joe Biden’s lead over Donald Trump in the national popular vote in the 2020 presidential election has virtually evaporated just days after the former vice president named Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) as his running mate because of a significant decline in support from black and Hispanic voters, according to a poll released by CNN on Sunday evening.”
We'll see if Biden/Harris gets a big bounce comming out of the convention. If not much of America is definitely asleep.
