Irony In The Era Of Trump...

Who's Your Daddy

The above header was found on a right-wing weblog that is an ardent Trump supporting sheeple site.

How the irony of this header is lost on the site owner and its faithful is comical. Almost.

By Chuck Todd, Mark Murray and Carrie Dann:

WASHINGTON — You have a problem on your hands when a man who’s pleaded guilty for lying to Congress is perceived as being more honest than you are.

That’s precisely the situation President Trump is facing when a Quinnipiac poll released Tuesday found voters saying — by a 50 percent-to-35 percent margin — that they believe Michael Cohen more than his former boss.

The only groups who believe Trump more than Cohen are Republicans (79 percent to 11 percent), whites without college degrees (50 percent to 37 percent) and white men (51 percent to 37 percent)...

It was only 200 days ago, on his 601st day in office, that President Trump exceeded 5,000 false or misleading claims.

Now, on his 801st day, the count stands at 9,451, according to The Fact Checker’s database that analyzes, categorizes and tracks every suspect statement the president utters. That’s a pace of 22 fishy claims a day over the past 200 days, a steep climb from the average of nearly 5.9 false or misleading claims a day in Trump’s first year in office.

Of course, not every day yields 22 claims. The president’s tally expands when he’s giving a speech, usually at a campaign rally. At such events, he runs through many of his favorite lines, such as that he passed the biggest tax cut in history, that his U.S.-Mexico border wall is already being built and that the U.S. economy today is the best in history. All three of those claims are on The Fact Checker’s list of Bottomless Pinocchios...

    1. It shouldn't be. I switched back to the "limited" Blogger profile in anticipation of Google shutting down "plus".

  2. Hey Les... get well buddy.

As you noted, a speech by Trump can become a Lie Fest. His recent remarks on Mexico and immigration are a perfect example...

"“Mexico, as you know, as of yesterday, has been starting to apprehend a lot of people at their southern border coming in from Honduras and Guatemala and El Salvador. And they’ve — they’re really apprehending thousands of people. And it’s the first time, really, in decades that this has taken place. And it should have taken place a long time ago. You know, Mexico has the strongest immigration laws in the world. There’s nobody who has stronger. I guess some have the same, but you can’t get any stronger than what Mexico has.”

“After many years (decades), Mexico is apprehending large numbers of people at their Southern Border, mostly from Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador.”

Of course, like many previous times, little he said in this statement bears any semblance to the truth. Most of it is a complete fabrication.

But no matter, his supporters, like the one who posted this, "I think the wall portions being built now are 18 feet. with the upper 3 or 4 feet solid so you can’t scale it.", will lap it up and believe it. Because they want it to be true. Even in the face of obvious facts.

    1. The power of the cult leader over their faithful adoring cultists is immense and in many cases almost total. I'm willing to wager that some of the looneys would swallow strychnine for tRump if he told them to.

Seriously, this nation now has a problem that may very well morph into, dare I say it, real widespread violence by his hardest hard core supporters. It is almost surreal.

  3. I take it that she thinks tRump is a truth teller and that is (one reason) why he is hated. Sure. A proven pathological liar is actually a "truth teller". Yikes! I think that trumperism actually is a cult. Whatever the cult leader says is "truth".

    1. Yup. On this issue we are in total complete agreement Dervish. And, IMO Franco, aka FreeThinke is one of the biggest and most delusional of the pack of cultists.

  4. RN... I don't put Free in the cult crowd. He just hates the left so by default, that just leaves, at this point, Trump. Like many, for him, anyone on the right, no matter how obscene, is better than anyone on the left. End of story.

Now... he is blinded by his hate, no doubt about that. It's an interesting place for a guy who proclaims that he has, and that we need the experience and share the love of Jesus. He gives Christianity a bad name.

    1. You might be be right Dave. But for me it's too big a benefit of doubt.

Indeed the Lobster guy gives Christians a bad name. He is evil in every sense of the word IMO.

    2. As per Franco/FT, tRump is (quote) "Christ like". Sounds cultish to me.
