Liberty -vs- Tyranny
Now that the Boy Scouts of America has made the right and proper decision granting ALL boys the right to membership REGARDLESS of their sexual orientation we're certain to here more from the judgmental moralizers in days and weeks to come, perhaps even for years.
Sure would have been useful if Jesus would have written down his positions on such weighty matters as the naturally occurring deviation from what is considered normal sexual preferences. Rather than leaving it to subjective interpretation by those who wrote the Gospels some 90 to 100 years following his death.
Christs views were quite possibly nothing like the Catholic Church has presented them over centuries.

RIGHT WING WATCH - On his radio program today, Bryan Fischer weighed in on the decision by the Boy Scouts of America to drop its ban on gay scouts last night.
Admitting that he was shocked by the vote since he was positive that it was going to be retained, Fischer declared that the BSA should change its name to the "Boy Sodomizers of America." Fischer eventually read a passage from the Book of Luke in which Jesus says it is better to have a stone tied around ones neck and be tossed into the sea than to lead a child to sin as a warning to BSA leaders that they will face the judgment of God for endorsing this change in policy:

A focus on the fringes can provide some comic relief...
ReplyDeleteI had never heard of this guy. I can see why...
There are many just like him in pockets all over the land. Especially I would think in the Bible belt.
DeleteIf only it was just a fringe...
ReplyDeleteJMJ
Well jmj, times are a changing... ever so slowly with respect to the bible thumpin Fundies.
DeleteHopefully the nation ultimately becomes more educated or we could see a reversal towards more of these types of Christian religous zealots.
Yeah, the MSNBC loonies are still out there...
DeleteAs are the some of the loonies on the right.
DeleteTimes have not changed, these "fundies" have been around for centuries. They never had so much power until Reagan embraced them to win election. Ever since they have had more power than their numbers deserve.
ReplyDeleteIf you aren't blaming Bush your blaming Reagan. Hell, why not go back as far as Hoover, or even further, like maybe Mathew, Mark, Luke, and John.
DeleteFacts are facts, even though you never want to face the facts.
ReplyDeleteLike you have a clue, Nevermind knowing a damn thing.
DeleteBy the way, I've never been here before
ReplyDeleteAnd your purpose for making it a point to make this point is?
DeleteRN: I guess for the most part, with some exceptions, to use the "Anonymous" moniker, it appears to be necessary to be politically clueless, have a nack for typing things that are the opposite of facts, and to evidence little more sentience than a sack of rocks. If this new Anon starts to rant about Hitler babies, we will know it is the same one.
Delete"Boy Sodomizers of America?" Was he referring to the Catholic Church?
ReplyDeleteCould be Shaw, but I hesitate to make that leap. If you know what I mean.
DeleteIndeed, Shaw. The RCC has a much worse record on this.
DeleteGuys like Johnson and Huntsman were light years ahead of the (ever so slow learning) Republican curve on this and it was one of the reasons why I supported them and rejected the other Neanderthals and buffoons.
ReplyDeleteThey were light years ahead of the rEpublicans on many things Will.
