A Break From Politics...

Today is a day I have chosen to take a break from political blogging. Politics can be ugly. Too much time spent in the the battle over political ethics, philosophy, and the general sad state of our nation can, and all to often does color ones view of life and the things that add deeper meaning and beauty to our daily existence.

The pictures displayed above have special meaning for me. They are just two examples of the artistry and talent of someone I am very proud of. The young women who drew the pictures has been developing her talent and ability for some time. Watching her grow in scope and depth over the past few years has been, to say the least very rewarding.

There isn't a lot I can do for this aspiring young artistic talent, except to give her just a little more exposure by posting examples of her work here on the pages of Rational Nation USA. For those who find beauty in the two works posted here please visit Art by Lindsay Carpenter where there are many examples of her artistry. For those who may wish to purchase any of her work you can obtain further information off of her website.

Introducing My Beautiful and Talented Daughter... Lindsay Carpenter

Lindsay Carpenter

Not only can the women draw, paint, and do fantastic photography, she can write extremely well also. I've been trying to get her to write columns for Rational Nation for a couple of years. Guess she is just too busy with her art. That and being smart enough not to get drawn into the game of politics. Sometimes the kids are smarter and wiser than their parents.

Love ya Squirt... I am very proud of the women you have become.

  1. She definitely made the right choice, Les. Save the politics for boneheads like us, I guess.

She is a wise woman staying out of politics. Art and photography have to be so much more rewarding.

  3. Thank you so much for sharing this Dad!! It truly made my day :) Big thanks to everyone who commented, I really appreciate the compliments. As for politics, I do have quite an interest in this area but have chosen to distance myself from open and public discussion. It frustrates and disgusts me the level of disrespect and ignorance that many display towards those who do not share the same opinions. I decided some time ago to focus my interests and passions in other directions and remain a silent observer to the chaos. This is not to say that I do not speak out or share, I have just become much more selective in when and where I choose to make my voice heard. Until others wake up and learn the basic concept of respect, I will not offer myself up on a silver platter to be the target for which disrespect is directed. It has become all to apparent, especially as of late, that there are very few people willing to put down their anger and have a real open minded debate or discussion. With that said, I do very much enjoy a good political debate and discussion! I am just very selective as to who I choose to engage in these activities with.

Dad, Perhaps someday I will write something up for your blog once I am feeling less frustrated! I can't promise that day will come but one can hope! :)

Again, thank you all very much!!

    1. You're own your way Squirt. If you keep working hard, as you have been been doing you will see success in all you do.

Yes, I can keep the hope alive that one day you take me up on becoming a guest author and commentator here at RN USA. Your level headed thinking and balance, along with your female perspective would add a great deal to the forum here methinks.

Have a wonderful Sunday afternoon in the Great Pacific Northwest and say hi to Christi for me when you see her.

    2. I just did (I guess she commented at the same time as I was).

Your daughter makes a compelling point on her behalf. Everyone chooses their own way to express themselves. And she does very well. You must be very proud, Les.
