Eric Dondero on Ron Paul's Character

Liberty -vs- Tyranny
I feel vindicated. My support for, and advocacy of Ron Paul for the republican nomination for the Presidency of the United States of America has just received the best possible endorsement. That is for those that are truly libertarian and of the limited constitutional government mindset.
Given the testimony of Eric Dondero, Publisher and Editor in Chief of the Libertarian Republican blog it is clear Ron Paul is indeed not racist or a anti Semite. Perhaps all the hoopla created by the MSM {aka: LSM (Lame Stream Media} can now be put to bed once and for all.
Excerpt from Right Wing News:
For those who understand limited constitutional government and the real meaning of freedom and liberty not much else need be said. Ron Paul will certainly be your horse in the race to the Presidency.
Unfortunately Mr. Dondero goes on in the balance of his article to do everything he can to undermine the only true conservative/libertarian candidate remaining in race. Very likely the only republican candidate that can beat President Obama.
Mr. Dondero, a savvy political pundit is marketing his extreme distrust and resultant fear of all Muslims to cast doubt on Rep. Paul's fidelity to America and her founding principles. Perhaps this is because Mr. Dondero fails to understand the classical liberalism upon which this nation was founded.
I mean no disrespect to Mr. Dondero, nor do I question his love of country. But when a self proclaimed conservative/libertarian does not land on the side of the only constitutionally limited government and liberty candidate something is fishy in Denmark. Especially when all the other republican candidates are big government pro military industrial complex statists.
Please read Eric's entire article. Then refresh your knowledge of Ron Paul's record and the principles on which he stands. Perhaps Mr. Dondero's view of the same is severely biased as a direct result of his demonstrated distrust, bordering on hatred, for Muslims in general. A distrust of extreme Islamic ideology is justified. Not all Muslim's are extremists.

I have been asked by various media the last few days for my comments, view of the current situation regarding my former boss Ron Paul, as he runs for the presidency on the Republican ticket.
I’ve noticed in some media that my words have been twisted and used for an agenda from both sides. And I wish to set the record straight with media that I trust and know will get the story right: conservative/libertarian-conservative bloggers.
Is Ron Paul a “racist.” In short, No. I worked for the man for 12 years, pretty consistently. I never heard a racist word expressed towards Blacks or Jews come out of his mouth. Not once. And understand, I was his close personal assistant. It’s safe to say that I was with him on the campaign trail more than any other individual, whether it be traveling to Fairbanks, Alaska or Boston, Massachusetts in the presidential race, or across the congressional district to San Antonio or Corpus Christi, Texas.
He has frequently hired blacks for his office staff, starting as early as 1988 for the Libertarian campaign. He has also hired many Hispanics, including his current District staffer Dianna Gilbert-Kile.
One caveat: He is what I would describe as “out of touch,” with both Hispanic and Black culture. Ron is far from being the hippest guy around. He is completely clueless when it comes to Hispanic and Black culture, particularly Mexican-American culture. And he is most certainly intolerant of Spanish and those who speak strictly Spanish in his presence, (as are a number of Americans, nothing out of the ordinary here.)
Is Ron Paul an Anti-Semite? Absolutely No. As a Jew, (half on my mother’s side), I can categorically say that I never heard anything out of his mouth, in hundreds of speeches I listened too over the years, or in my personal presence that could be called, “Anti-Semite.” No slurs. No derogatory remarks. {Continue Reading}

And do you think we should have stopped Hilter's massacre of the Jews? Because according to him Paul did not.
ReplyDeleteI don't believe that Paul is a racist, but what I question Paul about is why is so willing to close his eyes to the people around him who are.
Well, the article seems agenda driven, and given my experience with Dondero and his tunnel vision view his article was agenda driven in my view.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes I believe Hitler needed to be stopped for many reasons, the massacre of the Jews among then. Since I have not heard Paul state that Hitler shouldn't have been stopped I question the veracity of Dondero's statement.
Your question with respect to Paul closing his eyes is troubling. If in fact it is true that he did rather than just being rather careless and or trusting of peoplke he shouldn't have.
Paul is not without faults. But he is the only true conservative/libertarian in the race. The others I have huge problems with. Gingrich being the biggest, followed by Backmann and working down from their.
If Paul doesn't get the nomination, and he won't baring a miracle, Johnson is likely to be my choice.
I don't think that Paul is a racist, either. But I also think that he probably should have shown a little more outrage at the comments and a little less at Gloria Borger's (an even-handed pundit, IMO) questions. Hey, if nothing else, it would have helped him out politically.
ReplyDeleteI must acknowledge the validity of your point Will. Either way he likely would not be the party's nominee.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunate, as the choice will probably boil down to a choice of one statist versus the other statist. Gingrich is completely untenable IMO and Romney is a flip flopper, better than Gingrich but a statist nonetheless.
So in the general we get either the heavy statist version or the light version. Either way it's government where government perhaps shouldn't go.
I'm thinking I'll likely be casting the ballot for Johnson in the general.
I'll be taking a good, long look at Johnson, too. The debates that he was allowed to participate in he did extremely well.
ReplyDeleteSo wait Les, you will use this article to show that Paul is not racist, then dismiss what you don't agree with?
ReplyDeleteJac - I just happen to think there is an agenda that underlies Dondero's view of Paul. But each to thier own interpretation.
ReplyDeleteAy any rate the choice is going to boil down to statist versus statist light. Either way I won't be supporting either.
Eric Dondero: "I have a "h**d-on" to f**k Ron Paul over on foreign policy, and foreign policy alone. Not only "f**k him over," but defeat him."
ReplyDeleteEric Dondero is a former employee of Ron Paul's. He was fired. Darn tootin' he's got an agenda!
In regards to saving people like in the Holocaust, or some other horrible genocidal event taking place: A Constitution-abiding President wouldn't have the authority to start a war or military humanitarian effort unilaterally! Congress would have to declare a war. Who is the Congress (supposed to be)? Representatives of the People. Ron Paul has said If the people want it, if there's a public outcry to go and Congress declares it - we will go. We'll go, Win it, and come home.
Don't let your fascist followers get you down, Les. Ron Paul gets my vote too!
ReplyDeleteAnonymous - Paul, is of course right. Unfortunately more tip the other way. So, we will undoubtedly continue to roll along in the rut we are currently in.
ReplyDeleteDivine Theatre - Thanks for your words of encouragement. I'll not let them get me down. I'll just keep on keepin on.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to say thanks to you for this great read!
ReplyDelete! I've got you bookmarked to see new stuff you post.
