The Craziness Of It All...

The following brought to you by BankruptingAmerica.
To give you an idea of just how out-of-control Washington's spending is, reports this morning show the U.S.'s gross debt-to-GDP ratio has surpassed 100% for the first time since after World War II. This ties an unfortunate bow on the mind-spinning debt ceiling debate that ended just a few days ago.

But we wanted to put a little more humorous spin on the recent events. In our latest video, Randall (of Honey Badger fame) gives us a rundown of just how crazy Washington got over the last month.

  1. Yeah. I don't know how anybody could call this debt ceiling debate and eventual passage a victory for anything.

  2. It was a huge victory for the Cloward and Piven strategy.

  3. Trestin, you are really nuts. What a wierd non-sequitur. None of this has anything to do with "welfare," you loony.

Silver, yes, of course. In fact, the whole "debt ceiling" thing is a joke. If only we ordinary people had the power to impose our own "debt ceiling!" What a joke! If I owed or promised you money, how would you feel about that?

    What a stupid joke.

Les, Obama inherited this mess. Don't pretend otherwise. And the only people he has with him to deal with the economic mess he INHERITED are the SAME BUNCH OF CROOKED SHMUCKS THAT ALWAYS WORKED WITH GOP ADMINISTRATIONS - EVERY ONE OF THEM.

We can't undo the damage by ignoring it (the libertarian way), we can't do it by trusting one party or another (the idiot partisan way), and we most certainly can't get truly liberal or progressive policies in place (Americans are morons), but we can do this: STOP WASTING TIME ON THIS STUPID BLAME GAME.

Raising the Nation's debt ceiling has nothing to do with welfare? Seriously? Wait...did you read that on Wa-Po's website?

    Yeesh.

Les, just found this amusingly wonderful piece about WH Press Sec. Carney.

Check out this quote from Carney, who is supposed to be defending President Obama:

“Well, the White House doesn’t create jobs,” Carney said. “The government together — the White House, Congress — creates policies that allow for greater job creation.”

Ooops! I think Mr. Carney might be in a little hot water with the Dear Leader over that one.

  6. I kind of agree with Jersey here. Stop blaming and start working together; a la Everett Dirksen and LBJ, a la Reagan and Tip O'Neil, a la even Clinton and Gingrich, for Christ. Enough already!

  7. JMJ - You have in just one partial sentence insulted over half the American population.

"... and we most certainly can't get truly liberal or progressive policies in place (Americans are morons),..."

As for the blame game... Well, when the progressives get their act together, their heads out of their arses, and walk the walk not just talk the talk maybe conservatives just might take you seiously.

Question, have you visited Sues or Shaw's place lately and read the comments?... Enough said.

  8. Will, I don't believe even I could compromise with the likes of LBJ.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Yeah, he (LBJ) was kind of an asshole/liar, huh?

    ReplyDelete
  10. Will, he was that, as well as he suffered from power lust as much as any American president ever has.

  11. He and Dirksen did work well together on civil rights, though. I will give them that much (Gulf of Tonkin, notwithstanding).
