Weiner... The Uncovering

Representative Anthony Weiner. Just another in the long line of politicians with questionable character. That is questionable moral character. In the end it is a judgement his constituencies in New York will ultimately decide.
With the coverage Wiener has received from all major media outlets and the blogoshere I steered clear of the story. It was however interesting to observe the man attempting to pull off his big lie, complete with smirks, grins, evasions, and.... well, making himself look more foolish by the day.
Yesterday he showed remorse, accepting responsibility for his many lapses in character and judgement. All good, I guess. However, given his demonstrated tendency to lie in the face of personal difficulties can he be believed this time? Just an obvious question methinks.
Isn't it precisely his character flaw{s} and lack of judgement that should be considered? He is after all a United States Representative. Should he not be setting the example? But, now thinking back, I recall the... "It depends on what the meaning of the word is, is." President.
The most troubling aspect perhaps is the likelihood he employed resources of the federal government throughout his charade with the American people. It is heartening at least that House Minority Leader Ms. Pelosi is calling for a House Ethics Committee investigation of Wiener's actions. Perhaps ethics will play a bigger part in the investigation than politics. The American people can only hope so.
At any rate, thank you Andrew Breitbart, you did good.
Weiner Coming Clean
Of course had Weiner not got caught it is likely he would have no remorse and would be continuing his cyber sexcapades.

I would like to see Brietbart take down a Republican for a change.
ReplyDeleteJMJ
Yes, I would like to see Rachel Maddow underscore Democratic hypocrisy for a change (Nader not allowing unions to form, Pelosi and the environmentally damaging golf course of hers).
ReplyDeleteWill - As would I.
ReplyDeleteIn the next breath I will add I would like to see Limbaugh, Hannity, and O'Reilly do the same when it comes to republicans that misbehave.
It is looking more and more like Weiner will soon be history. The powers in his own party will pull his plug out of concern for the impact on the PARTY and for no other reason.
