Kristol's Wisdom On the Libya Situation

Here we go again. A neo-con talking head advocating military action against another sovereign nation. Not because this nation has committed an act of aggression against the United States and it's people. But rather to allegedly protect the people of Libya against their own despotic and tyrannical head of state. Gosh, wouldn't it be best left to the Libyan people to take care of their own issues. Or perhaps we all should view it a  regional issue best left to those living in the middle eastern "sphere of influence?"

Of course Mr. Kristol  throws in the usual stuff about the possibly of Qaddafi resuming his terrorist activities and his nuclear activities. Anyone hearing Iraq revisited? Anyone hearing Military Industrial Complex and the money to be made? Maybe it is just me.

At any rate here is the video of Kristol  hawking the neo-con {non conservative} position on Libya.



Perhaps if we are going to do anything we ought to send a Mafia hit squad over to Libya to whack him. The job would get done, it would cost American taxpayers a h*ll of a lot less, and the people of Libya would be free of their despot.

Just saying. What's anybody else's thought on the matter.

    I agree with your last point, RN. Assassinate the son of a bitch (that, or, like you say, hire somebody). Military intervention beyond that (to me, anyway) has the stench of Somalia and Lebanon written all over it.

I admit it... there are many philosophical, governmental, business, and ethical issues on which the POTUS and me would strongly disagree. I would be being less than honest if I claimed I didn't wish the POTUS were a different individual. Ron Paul - Republican Presidential Candidate I read with great interest Ron Paul's recent statements in Iowa with respect to the 911 attacks on America by Islamic extremists and their primary motivation. Nowhere in candidate Paul's statement did I see where he justified the attacks that resulted in the death of 3,000 plus Americans. What I did read was a rational analysis of what motivated the attackers and why they were so motivated. Call it thinking outside the confines of a restricted and often myopic view of reality. In other words Paul is saying first seek to understand the motivations of a dangerous extremist group and then seek to effect ways to change their reality. IE: Perception. Here you have it folks, the real truth. The socialist/statist left, the champions of the working man, blocking the extension of unemployment benefits to none other than... the working man and women. The Senate failed Thursday to extend benefits programs for laid off workers. The house on the other hand passed a bill that would have extended for one month the program so lawmakers could decide how to address the issue in the long term. The Senate, while trying to follow suit was not successful in  overcoming the strong objections of Senator Jim Bunning, Republican Senator from Kentucky. Senator Bunning would not support the bill on grounds that the additional  ten billion outlay would increase the Federal budget deficit.
