Sarah Palin's Use of the Term Blood Libel Defended by Alan Dershowitz

It is good to see there are still some liberals left with a modicum of intellectual honesty. Alan Dershowitz is obviously among them. No doubt he will take a lot of heat from the majority of the left , as well as from some of his Jewish brethren for his defense of Sarah Palin's use of the term blood libel.

The term “blood libel” has taken on a broad metaphorical meaning in public discourse. Although its historical origins were in theologically based false accusations against the Jews and the Jewish People, its current usage is far broader. I myself have used it to describe false accusations against the State of Israel by the Goldstone Report. There is nothing improper and certainly nothing anti-Semitic in Sarah Palin using the term to characterize what she reasonably believes are false accusations that her words or images may have caused a mentally disturbed individual to kill and maim. The fact that two of the victims are Jewish is utterly irrelevant to the propriety of using this widely used term.

Mr. Dershowitz is to be applauded for his defense of Sarah's use of the term.

  1. Mr. Dershowitz:

Go get 'em, tiger. Smack these morons with some truth.

Palin is not the enemy. Is she the voice of America? Hardly. Is she the best thing to happen to the liberal left? Absolutely. Without her, the liberal media would have no news to spin.

Obama made the speech he gave in AZ about him. He took it as his own and it was yet another example of his narcissism and arrogance. I am so embarrassed to know he is the president.

Bernie Sanders has capitalized on his own version of hatred via a fundraising letter he has sent out vilifying those evil Republicans and the dangers of being a Democrat living in AZ. Please.

Never let a good crisis go to waste, boys.

    Sorry. I went off-topic.
