Adrian Pierce Rogers (September 12, 1931 – November 15, 2005) was an American pastor, conservative, author, and a three-term president of the Southern Baptist Convention (1979–1980 and 1986–1988).
This quote appears frequently on the Internet and is often attributed to Dr. Rogers with an incorrect date of 1931. In fact, the quotation is part of a longer sermon by Dr. Rogers' from 1984 in a larger series titled God’s Way to Health, Wealth and Wisdom, but it also appears as a passage in Dr. Rogers' 1996 work Ten Secrets for a Successful Family complaining that "by and large our young people do not know either the importance or the value of honest labor".
No matter what  ones political, religious, or social ideology might be the wisdom contained in Dr. Rogers quote should resonate with all. It is sound reasoning, and it is common sense.

This particular visitor also made generalized statements about liberals that were mostly hyperbole and in this bloggers opinion part of the problem. The same problem the left is often guilty of. The visitors complete comment. First of all I believe that the post above me was written by a nut. But the title of his or her post is interesting. Interesting enough for me to elaborate on. (Editor’s note:  The visitors opening, “ First of all the post above me” is in reference to a liberals comment that was lacking in any salient points and was essentially a ramble of incoherent gibberish.) When the story first broke this classical liberal with libertarian leanings accepted, based on the early news reports, that George Zimmerman as guilty of a horrendous and unforgivable crime. However,as more information surfaced I began to question the veracity of the liberal contention that Zimmerman had in reality committed an act of first degree murder (my initial conclusion). Given time, and the proper reflection after new information (and opinions based on this information) surfaced it seemed, at least to this writer anyway, to step back and chill just a bit. I am laughing my proverbial arse off. After spending a fair amount of time on left,  or perhaps they would prefer the tag progressive leaning  blogs, reading the constant belittling, name calling, insulting and often vulgar characterizations of almost  anything they disagree with, which of course is everything conservative , I am not surprised to learn of a Anti Tea Party movement. Before going any further however I must be fair and balanced. There are a few lefties whose views and opinions are deserving of consideration and I would be amongst the first to advise everyone, including conservatives, to do so. While saying his faith considers it a sin he went on to say there are a whole bunch of other sins as well. I guess an affirmative but without actually saying the words "I consider it a sin", or answering simply "yes." Independent Conservatism

I have, for many years, considered myself to be an independent conservative . Asked by some just what that means I would reply it implies I believe in the radical political views held by the founding fathers. Men of enlightened thinking who personified  "The Age of Reason." There have been many occasions I have been brought to task for pointing to the wisdom of  such giants as Washington, Jefferson, Paine, Franklin... the list could go on but for a lack of time.
