Rational Quotes From Rational Nation USA
As a new week starts, and in light of the fact I have been extremely busy with technical issues and therefore unable to post much this weekend, I put up a few rational quotes to begin the next, and what is likely to be a very hectic week.
Please enjoy and feel free to offer any feedback on the selection of "Rational Quotes for a Rational Nation."
Potentially, a government is the most dangerous threat to man's rights: it holds a legal monopoly on the use of physical force against legally disarmed victims. Ayn Rand
It's not tyranny we desire; it's a just, limited, federal government. Alexander Hamilton
The Constitution shall never be construed... to prevent the people of the United States who are peaceable citizens from keeping their own arms. Samuel Adams
If all printers were determined not to print anything till they were sure it would offend nobody, there would be very little printed. Benjamin Franklin
Arbitrary power is most easily established on the ruins of liberty abused to licentiousness. George Washington
A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where fifty-one percent of the people may take away the rights of the other forty-nine. Thomas Jefferson
All, too, will bear in mind this sacred principle, that though the will of the majority is in all cases to prevail, that will to be rightful must be reasonable; that the minority possess their equal rights, which equal law must protect, and to violate would be oppression. Thomas Jefferson
As you think on these words spoken so long ago by men more enlightened than I ask yourself this... is there any resemblance with the realities we see today?
If the answer is yes the next question is... what as an individual are you going to do about it?
The health of our nation depends on the answer to the second question.

I am reminded of the little boy who was shot in the eye froma stray bullet last week RN. The shot was fired from three blocks away.
ReplyDeleteThis makes me wonder why Samuel Adams or anyone else think citizens need automatic weapons. The real irony is that I didn't hear about any slimeball gang members being killed or shot in the eye. Just this little boy who was in his living room three blocks away.
I know you have an audience to pander to RN. I hope your venture does well and provides you with an income and satisfaction. But I can sure as hell live without an automatic weapon. If a nut breaks into my house I can kill him just as surely with a shotgun and don't have to worry about the neighbor kids getting hit by stray shot.
"If you protest from the left, you're romanticized; if you protest from the Right, you're demonized."
ReplyDeleteGreg Gutfeld
Keep up the great work, Les!
Truth - Wonderful job of pandering to your "constituency" Joe. I do not believe the quote was in a particular reference to automatic weapons, you made that connection. Adam's words were what they were then and continue to be true today as when they were spoken. At least for those who understand.
ReplyDeleteDon - Love the Gutfeld quote! So very true as well as sad.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the encouragement.
"If it be asked, What is the most sacred duty and the greatest source of our security in a Republic? The answer would be, An inviolable respect for the Constitution and Laws - the first growing out of the last." --Alexander Hamilton
ReplyDeleteDon - Thank you for this quote from Hamilton. Just as true today... as they were when he spoke these words.
ReplyDeleteOf course there are are those (who will remain nameless) that feel quoting men of great knowledge whose wisdom is timeless indicates we have no brains or thoughts of our own.
Pity them for sure.
