Obama and Racism

Yesterday Rational Nation USA called Former President Carter out for his wrongheaded and absurd remarks on racism. Mr. Carter believes that because millions of  patriotic American are taking issue with, and vocalizing their dissent over the direction President Obama is leading this country in is somehow equivalent to racism. As I said yesterday good ole Jimmy is in fact serving to fuel racism in the country.

As I pondered  his remarks more (and the comments of the commentators) a thought occurred to me. If I am not mistaken the President is 50% black and 50% white, having a black father and a white mother. As I vividly recall , Mr. Carter said there was racism at play because President Obama is black. Lets see, half black-half white. Couldn't he just as logically be called white rather than black given his lineage? And if so would it not also follow that white folks can now claim racism is being directed at their race? Or perhaps I am missing something? The point being, the mere mention of racism simply because there are legitimate concerns with the President's policies and leadership of  this country is absurd.

Having gotten that aside Rational Nation USA found the following videos with respect to racism. Admittedly they are not recent. However, they do bear relevancy to the issue brought up by our "esteemed and reputable" former President.

Independent Conservatism

I have, for many years, considered myself to be an independent conservative . Asked by some just what that means I would reply it implies I believe in the radical political views held by the founding fathers. Men of enlightened thinking who personified  "The Age of Reason." There have been many occasions I have been brought to task for pointing to the wisdom of  such giants as Washington, Jefferson, Paine, Franklin... the list could go on but for a lack of time. We have some Americans in our population who have difficulty speaking a coherent sentence. We have many who cannot construct a complete and proper sentence. Historic Decision Reversing Campaign Laws

The Supreme Court, in a five to four decision, on  this Thursday overturned a six decade old law designed to limit the influence of large corporations and unions on elections. The new ruling will allow for unlimited spending by both large business and unions in support of, or opposition to candidates for Congress and the presidency. The six decade old law essentially prohibited labor unions and companies from using monies from their general treasuries for the purpose of producing and running campaign ads. The reversal however leaves intact the prohibition on direct contributions from businesses and unions. The decision of the court also overturned the McCain/Feingold campaign finance bill which prohibited corporate and union funded issue ads in the final days of a campaign. The Obama Ten Year Outlook

America has just been given a glimpse into the future as crafted by President Barrack Husein Obama if you will. And the future looks VERY bleak. First,  let me make it perfectly clear that the big government, liberal spending, so called conservative GWB must share a portion of the blame for our countries dismal and alarming fiscal mess.
