The Imperial Presidency
It has been said that all politics are local. The concept makes a great deal of sense, and our Imperial President would do well to learn the simple concept.
With the senate seat held by the late and not so great Senator Kennedy vacant , the socialist/statist at the federal level are pushing to get a suitable replacement. One that will of course represent the views of the Imperial President. The urgency is such that the highest level of government, the Imperial President, has found it necessary to intervene.
Since filling a vacant seat in the senate is a state issue why is the Imperial President weighing in? One guess. If you guessed muscle and brute force you are right. Just one more example of the Imperial President seeing no end to his influence and power.

RICHMOND, Mass. – Gov. Deval Patrick said Friday that President Barack Obama had personally talked to him about changing the Senate succession law in Massachusetts, and White House aides were pushing for him to gain the power to temporarily replace the late Sen. Edward M. Kennedy amid the administration's health care push.
A month after a White House spokesman labeled the issue a state matter, Patrick said he and Obama spoke about changing the law as they both attended Kennedy's funeral in Boston last month. He also said White House aides have been in contact frequently ever since and pushing for the change so they can regain their filibuster-proof majority in the U.S. Senate.
"He and his whole team have been very clear about that," Patrick told reporters after holding a Cabinet meeting near his Berkshire Mountains vacation home.
"It's out there that the Senate president and the (House) speaker are trying to figure out whether this can be accomplished, and he fully understands, as do his aides, who I have talked to more about it, the importance of having the support for a change agenda down in Washington," Patrick added.
Rational Nation USA believes it is clear, the Imperial President, his sheeple Pelosi and Reid see nothing as beyond the scope of Big Brother Orwellian government. This issue not only not affects the state of Massachusetts it affects the entire nation. The issue goes far beyond the immediate attempt to manipulate state government into doing what the Imperial State sees as needed now. It is an attempt to subjugate the rights of the individual state to be governed by their own laws. This further diminishes the rights of the individual with respect to their state government.
Make no mistake, unless there is an uproar over this in the state of Massachusetts AND throughout the nation at large, we will soon see more power grabs such as this taking place. The Imperial Presidency of the Obamanation see itself as omnipotent with the right to do as it damn well pleases. It is time We The People bring it up short.
