The Alternative To Biden, Sanders, Warren, and the Rest...

Pete Buttigeigh 2019

Wow! How very refreshing such a calming reassuring presence would be following the 4 years of chaotic, inept, anti American, and criminally corrupt "leadership" of Donald J. Trump.

It is not too late to correct the grave and disastrously misguided mistake of 2016. Trump CAN be defeated. But ONLY if middle America turns out to vote in RECORD numbers to lampoon the narcisisstic hopes of Trump for reelection.

America remains a center to slightly right of center nation. She is far from ready for the Sanders or Warren Medicare for All multi trillion dollar plans. No matter how one slices and dices the proposals they will not fly. Nor should anyone want them to. Like all federal feel good programs it WILL ballom out of control sooner or later. Probably sooner.

Soaking the wealthy is not the answer to providing effective and affordable health care for all. But it does  continue to perpetuate the class warfare that our nation has been engaged in for most of us our adult live. Increasing taxes on corporate America to pre Trump levels and ELIMINATING all loopholes that are currently in place that allow the wealthy and uber wealthy to avoid paying their fair share is a better path.

It's early yet, but Pete Buttigieg is the candidate that has consistently made sense. He is the one candidate that possibly has the ability to unite a coalition of various interest groups to take down America's most corrupt and divisive president in modern history. With the right individual at the helm the sky would be the limit. Buttigeigh, with his intelligence and education, military experience, municipal government background, his policy leanings, and his relative youth all make Mayor Pete a candidate well worth seriously considering. I know I am.

  1. Well... somebody needs to step up. I think Amy K of Minnesota is correct. A female mayor of a small town would struggle to win anything in the real world. Mayor Pete, engaging as he is, would get nowhere were he a woman.

Moving on from that... is he the right person for the job? Maybe. But I'm not sold on any of the Dems and I agree with the guy who suggested if Bloomberg wants to spend billions helping America, he should just buy FOX News...

    1. I would prefer it if he bought MSNBC.

    2. I've had discussions with folks who think Buttigeigh will get nowhere because he is gay. Another BS roadblock constructed by those who haven't a clue really. Folks fear things they do not understand or do not approve of. Old white male mentality in the USA is one of the biggest roadblocks to real progress. Power held in the hands of the unenlightened can be a very regressive AND dangerous thing indeed.

    3. I have no problem with women being president. In fact I have become quite comfortable with the idea of a women President. But neither Warren or Harris is making a bunch of sense to me.

America is not yet ready for a fully socialist government. Which is one reason Warren or Sanders will go nowhere should either get the nomination. I also do NOT believe Warren is a capitalist through and through as she claims. She is, or wants to be a socialist. Just like Bernie and AOC. I'm not ready for that either. Socialism looks very good on paper. But history also has another story.

  2. RN... I agree, neither of those women will win. And I'd agree that America won't elect a gay man... yet. But these candidates on the Dem side are about as good as those on the GOP side last year.

Does anyone there inspire you? I mean really inspire you? Reagan inspired ppl. Obama inspired ppl. Even Clinton inspired ppl. This crowd? Not a one. No one who is publicly running, including Trump, will ever strike someone as an American Statesman, or Statesperson.

    At least IMO.

BTW... buying MSNBC, owned by NBC, might be a pretty heavy lift, even for Bloomberg.

  3. Fox/MSNBC compare and contrast:
Rachel Maddow PhD and Rhodes Scholar/Sean Hannity college drop out: one deals in facts the other in opinions and
conspiracy theories. Nicolle Wallace MA. Northwestern School of Journalism/Lou Dobbs BS Harvard economics, dropped out of U of Idaho law school was canned by CNN for fomenting the birther theory, Wallace was part of the Bush 2 administration and worked on McCain's campaign. Dobbs frowns as he delivers anti free trade tirades and deep state conspiracies while parroting Trump. Doubt anyone will buy either network, but guess which one I think should be shut
down in the interest of humanity? :)
