French Resistance Against Islamo-Fascism...

-vs- Tyranny

A very compelling statement from a very progressive and enlightened culture on the dangers of Islamization of Western Culture.

h/t: Libertarian Republican

From Eric Dondero:

Demonstration of Frenchmen and women in the streets of Paris, against the rising Islamization of their country.

It's a problem not only for France. It's a problem for the USA.

Editor's comment - Republicans searching for a new direction after Romney's defeat; perhaps taking up the cause of anti-Islamization of the West? Something that was completely ignored by the Romney campaign.

  1. Can you tell me where this Islamization of America is taking place.

I, for example, live in a section of Boston where many Arabs shop and own businesses. The people I encounter every day are quite the Americans. Except for the women who wear a kerchief, not a burka, on their heads, they look like everyone else, they speak American English, and behave like Americans.

No Islamization here with the Arab people I see every day.

One of my favorite waiters in the restaurant around the corner from me is a Muslim from Morocco. He and I exchange recipes. I've become quite good at making North African version of CousCous and Harira soup--the soup traditionally eaten when Ramadan is broken.

  2. It does get pretty bad, sometimes. We've had massive protests in Dearborn in which large numbers of the worst extreme Muslims call for eliminating the First Amendment in the US, and of course, wiping out Jews.

    1. But, but, but... To some, who I'll leave unmentioned as they speak for themselves, none of this matters dmarks. It isn't even worth discussing, they only see bigotry or some other imaginary something.

  3. Shaw, if you ever make it to Northampton, take a stop at Amanouz. The baba ghanoush, couscous with veggies, and moussaka are truly otherworldly. It's a thoroughly dinky little place but rad.

  4. We certainly aren't facing any "islamization" here in the US, but maybe there's a subtle message we're supposed to hear - the Latinization of the United States.

Now, you could see that as some terrible thing, or you could realize that we simply don't have the sort of demographic conflicts between Latin Americans and European Americans. Latin people are Christian, have pretty much the same cultural values as Northern and Western Europeans ("White" Americans), and in fact they actually continue the same cultural line most all White Americans consider a fundamental heritage of all "us" White Americans, and, of course, Europeans.

France maintained an empire in the Islamic world for many years (and here's the lesson for the hawks on the right), and now many ancestors, and some who still personally remember, of people who came from these colonial states reside in France. Plus, they make for cheap labor (for all you cheap-labor cons out there). Hence the snowballing track (though, in reality, it would take a couple hundred years for such a thing to happen in Europe, or America, for that matter).

So, yes, you can draw a similarity here and there, you can predict conflict and change in general. Anyone can do that. But to believe somehow the Western World is about to drop at the feet of the rather poor, unstable Islamic Middle East and North Africa is to be seriously priority-averse.

Islam is not threat. It's just a religion. Yet another ubiquitous cultural thing. The threat is poor management of nations.

Hawkish, cheap-labor cons who peddle xenophobia? These guys pretend to be the answer to such concerns, yet they are both the cause of and aggravation of the problem.

  5. Lets see, remember "freedom fries?" The French were not a "very progressive and enlightened culture" then were they?

Considering that most of north Africa were part of the French colonial empire, and with the French Vichy government, which most French supported, it is a pretty long stretch to claim, in the whelm of tolerance for other cultures, religions, and people, that the French are "a very progressive and enlightened culture."

I think we might be better served focusing our own efforts on "Baptist-fascism" or maybe "Redneck-fascism" rather than on whatever the French are doing.....

People like dmarks forget the worst extreme white supremacists, anti-abortionists who kill doctors, and other like-minded radicals. Talk about eliminating the First Amendment? Hell, there are a number of states, mostly the Confederate and very, very Christian ones, that are petitioning to secede from the Union because the guy they voted for lost. That's treason against the United States of America. That's happening right now right under dmarks' and RN's noses. And what do they think of this treasonous behavior of that group of Christians? *crickets*

But look! Over there! Muslims! Muslims! Muslims! Islamization! What will happen to our country?!!

      Bullshit Shaw.

Ya know I have had it with your progressive superiority complex. Now that you have accused me of supporting succession you can take your bullshit and stick it where the sun don't shine. You just put yourself in the same category as Anon the Asshat, RR, Steve.

      See ya...

  7. RN, you don't know how to read. I did not accuse you of supporting secession. My comment was about your stirring up Muslim fear while our very own Christian Americans signed petitions for secession. Nowhere in my comment do I accuse you of supporting that. My point is that dmarks' and your comments are hysterical where it comes to fear of Islamization, but right in front of your noses southern Americans are petitioning for treason against the USA, and you've ignored it.

Either you deliberately misread my comment or I've hit a very raw nerve.

But to repeat, I DID NOT accuse you of what you've hysterically said I did. The evidence is up there for all to see.

  8. RN, here's what I wrote. Nowhere in that comment do I come anywhere NEAR saying you support secession. I wrote that you didn't COMMENT ON IT. The proof is right there.

Which means you concede that you misread my comment. Thank you. And I accept your apology.

      Your implication is clear Shaw.

  9. I don't buy into the "terrorist" meme, but to say there is no elephant in the room is quite naive... And FYI, Shaw, it is not treason to oppose any govt! Especially in the US! That is part of our constitution! Heritage. If you were truly an American, you would know this.
I've been living in Germany for most of the last 4 years. I see the reality of this more than the average US citizen. Funny thing about France is that they just tossed out most of the Gypsy population. Why? Freeloaders. And that's most often the case of what Muslims are doing also. Not just in France and Germany, but everywhere they go! It's clearly political!
And the enablers (media, bleeding heart liberals, multikulti minded) will soon see themselves out-bred! And their taxes pay for it.
I could care less if you call me racist or any other Totschlag argument*... The truth is in plain view for every one to see. Why is it these folk find another nation so attractive and yet refuse to assimilate to the local culture? Instead, they expect their host nation to cater to their needs. 1. Truth it seems has many faces. I suppose it goes to the old saying, which I've found to have great validity, perception is reality for the person perceiving it.

Truth on the other hand can take years before it is fully revealed. Often it is too late.

At least that is how I view it at any rate.
