Allen West... A Leader For Our Times

by Les Carpenter
Rational Nation USA

One of the congressional races I followed, and supported on Rational Nation USA was that of Lieutenant Colonel Allen West. A retired military man he is a man of honor and integrity.

His loyalty to this nation and it's founding principals is without question. A man of African decent he sees his loyalty as being with the American people and the principles that made this nation great.

Unlike the current occupant of the Oval Office he understands what it means to be a leader of people. He lead individuals through the most trying of circumstances. He lead in a time of war and those he lead were placing their lives at risk daily.

Not only does this African American deserve the utmost respect for his leadership he deserves the admiration of an entire nation. Allen West knows what it means to be leader and he understands the grave responsibly that leadership engenders.

Running in a district that was overwhelmingly white in its make up he won nonetheless. This in and of itself should put to rest the notion of white racism so readily talked about in liberal circles. My guess however is that the white progressives IE: the democrats who made up the KKK will spin it otherwise. For an African American to actually get the fact that limited government and fiscal responsibility makes sense just doesn't serve their statist (and racist) agenda all that well.

Allen West will very likely be a great Congressman. He may very well be amongst the best the GOP has to offer on a national ticket in 2012. He sure as hell has more real life experience and a love of country than the current occupant of the Oval Office has or likely ever will.

  1. We had a lot of vets running this go around, and I suspect we'll be seeing many more in the future.

This bodes well for our country. These are men and women who have had to put ideology, prejudices and personal opinion aside and find what works to get the job done. We need that attitude in politics.

  2. I'll throw it out there:

    Rubio and West: 2012? 2016? 2020?

Just a thought. I'm definitely not a GOP shill, but these guys have earned my attention. I'm just sayin'.

  3. I agree with all you say here and wish to add to 'Anon' in "throwing something out there":

Mike Pence(P) and Allen West(VP) 2012 serving two consecutive terms then Allen West(P) and Marco Rubio(VP) in 2020.
