Christine O'Donnell... A Distraction Carrying a Price Part 2

by Les Carpenter
Rational Nation USA

Senate Candidate Christine O'Donnell is, in my independent conservative judgement, somewhat of a wingnut that is very likely undeserving of a seat in the United States Senate. Having said this I freely admit she was right in 20026 when she declared China was a threat to the US economy. For supporting evidence of her assertion I direct you to "Three Billion New Capitalists" as a reference point.

Her assertion that China is plotting to take over the American economy sounds like something out of a George Orwell novel. However, the reality is China, India, Brazil, and other growing economies will eventually overtake the USA in the global marketplace unless as a nation we come to understand the threat, as well as the reasons we are faced with the current reality.

While I may not agree with all the potential solutions offered in "Three Billion New Capitalists" the truth is we are a shrinking economic power and will eventually become a second rate (or even third rate)economy unless we begin to pursue objective and competitive based tax and regulatory policies.

Hint... Obama and his progressive collectivist policies propel the nation in the direction we have been on since Theodore Roosevelt. Somebody once said the definition of insanity is, and I paraphrase, 'continuing to do the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.'

On this issue O'Donnell is spot on.

  1. Agree with the you. She can't be pro-property rights since she's sued her former employer for wrongful dismissal. Nor is she likely to keep her religious views out of legislation. Just so happy that DISCOSING Castle got booted though.

  3. While I have reservations about Christine O'Donnell, the thing that riles both the left and the right, is that she is making headway WITHOUT THEIR PERMISSION! Let's face it, we normally only have the choice between the democrat that the powers-that-be approves and the republican that the powers-that-be approves. Either way, we lose and the PTB wins. People like O'Donnell mess up their plans

  4. Shane - On the Castle point I agree completely.

  5. Gorges - I do not disagree with the premise that O'Donnell "messes up their plans." If she was a qualified and capable individual I would be touting her candidacy. IMO she is not and therefor I cannot be an advocate of her run for office.

What is needed...Solid candidates with a solid consistant philosophy like Ron Paul who will mess up their plans. And we need a lot of them.

  6. I like Ron Paul and have voted for him, but he's about as likely to sweep this nation off its feet as Bob Dole. (Well, okay, he's not quite that bad.)
