The Concept Of Liberty
By: Les Carpenter III
Rational Nation USA
One hears a lot of talk about liberty, and our rights as a supposedly free people. Most often it is heard within the framework of combating the gradual yet certain advance of socialism, statism, totalitarianism, and a host of other ism's.
The government's increasing involvement in out lives, and the growing limits placed on our ability to chose, fuel the current tea party and liberty movement in America. It is not only understandable, but indeed patriotic that these movements have gained force and strength.
Everyone who has achieved the age where the concept of liberty can be reasonably understood should wish for the ultimate success of the liberty movement. However, only by understanding the meaning of liberty, and practicing the exercise of it's principal in our daily lives will this nation regain the footing it once proudly stood on.
To illustrate the concept of liberty I looked for some time before locating the following video on You Tube. After watching it three there was no question whatsoever in my mind as to the value of the presentation. I post it here for your consideration, and welcome my readerships feedback. Both pro and con.
Barrack Hussein Obama would do well to listen to this video over, and over, and over again until he understands it and by the understanding recognize the value of the concept of liberty. Sadly GWB lost the true meaning of the words concept as well. At least IMO.

A very clear and impressive explanation of why our liberty and our rights do not come from Nancy, Harry or the President. This SHOULD be shown to all high school kids. Thank you for your hard work to find this and to post it.
ReplyDeleteLinda - It was indeed a pleasure and a labor of love.
ReplyDeleteI am pleased you found truth and value in this. I agree this should be shown in schools, universities, and movie theaters across the nation
Every American should see this. Property rights is the cornerstone of our freedoms. I hate to say it, but Republicans are almost as bad about this.
ReplyDeleteI subscribe to Glenn Beck's view that both parties are fighting at the "tyranny" end of the "Liberty-Tyranny" continuum.
Conservatives, are you ready to forswear using the power of the federal government to enforce your brand of morality? I ask that as a God-fearing man who holds our constitution and our founders in great esteem.
Les: A profound video and and I'll go a step farther than Linda in saying a MUST see for EVERY American so that they get the jist of "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness", which guarantees equal "rights" not equal "things".
ReplyDeleteSilverfiddle - Agreed on points one and two. And let me be the first to forswear.
ReplyDeletePamela - Well said!
ReplyDeleteIndeed, if only this were required exposure for everyone beginning in about grade 7 and repeated frequentyly. But that will never happen as the socialist collectivist government, media, and academia would never allow it to see the light of day as an educational tool.
