Is There Really an Artic Meltdown?...

by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Purveyor of Truth Not being a climatologist or a scientist in the conventional sense, thus being at the mercy of the "experts", could someone, anyone, sort all the confusing and contradictory data and info out for us average, normal, hard working people with bills to pay and family's to raise so we know for sure if we are being screwed or not by the purveyors of climate change and the catastrophe will strike us all unless we cap and trade the hell out of everybody crowd. Daily Mail - The speech by former US Vice-President Al Gore was apocalyptic. ‘The North Polar ice cap is falling off a cliff,’ he said. ‘It could be completely gone in summer in as little as seven years. Seven years from now.’ Those comments came in 2007 as Mr Gore accepted the Nobel Peace Prize for his campaigning on climate change. But seven years after his warning, The Mail on Sunday can reveal that, far from vanishing, the Arctic ice cap has expanded fo...

King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia Warning to the West...

by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Purveyor of Truth ISIS and the terrorist threat is growing as we (the world as a whole) debate, dither, and ponder just what the most appropriate response might be. A couple things seem quite clear, 1) any response must have the backing of the Middle East and it's population, 2) a broad Arab, European, and American coalition must be formed with all parties being both the financial burden as well as military involvement. Anything short of this will ultimately be doomed to fail. There are hopeful signs that such a coalition may be in the realm of possibility. As time is of the essence assembling such a coalition sooner rather than later should be of utmost priority. Of course the United States because of it's role as leader of the free world must take a leading role in any effort to assemble such a coalition. From Yahoo News : Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) (AFP) - King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia has warned that the West will be the next ta...

Image
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Purveyor of Truth The U.N. racism watchdog urged the United States on Friday to halt the excessive use of force by police after the fatal shooting of an unarmed black teenager by a white policeman touched off riots in Ferguson, Missouri. Perhaps after the UN will focus on major racist activity that is manifest elsewhere and the US media will pick it up. Oh wait, first the UN has to report on it. Much more BELOW THE FOLD . The Color Of Presidential Suits and What they Signify, By Rep. Peter King...

Image
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Purveyor of Truth President Obama in his dapper tan suit looking very fasionable I don't know about you'all but I for one have absolutely no issue with the President in his stylish tan threads. A little envious perhaps, not being able to afford such fine attire, but a President should look good right? Apparently one, a republican as expected, has a major problem with it and made a big to do over it. BuzzFeed - Republican Rep. Peter King of New York is no fan of tan. The conservative member of Congress from Long Island blasted President Obama for wearing “a light suit, light tan suit” to talk about the threat of ISIS on Thursday. “There’s no way any of us can excuse what the president did yesterday,” King said of President Obama on NewsMaxTV. “When you have the world watching… a week, two weeks of anticipation of what the United States is gonna do. For him to walk out — I’m not trying to be trivial here — in a light suit, l...

Massachusetts Republican Gubernatorial Candidate Charlie Baker Pulls Ahead Of Democrat Martha Coakley In Recent Polling...

by: Les Carpenter Rational nation USA Purveyor of Truth Massachusetts  Republican Gubernatorial Candidate Charlie Baker Charlie Baker is pulling ahead of Democratic gubernatorial candidate Martha Coakley by a razor thin margin in recent polling. In a state so blue it is almost navy this is a welcome development. Aside from having a moderating effect on the machinations of MA state government Charlie will be more pro business and that would be welcomed by employers across the state. T he Boston Globe - Republican Charlie Baker has edged ahead of Democrat Martha Coakley in the race for governor, taking the lead by the slimmest of margins for the first time in the Globe’s weekly poll. The survey found the hypothetical general election race in a statistical dead heat, with 38 percent of respondents saying they would support Baker for governor, a slight edge over the 37 percent who said they favor Coakley. Though Baker’s lead remains well within the margin of error, it show...

A Presidential Gaffe...

By now, President Obama's remark that "We don't have a strategy yet" has made the rounds. Republicans were quick to pounce on it, as well they should have (emphasis mine). But while the White House went into damage-control mode, emphasizing that it was a reference to the lack of decisions about increasing military action in Iraq and/or Syria and not a lack of a broader strategy there, the damage was already done. As with all gaffes, the worst ones are the ones that confirm people's pre-existing suspicions or fit into an easy narrative. That's why "47 percent" stung Mitt Romney so much, and its why "don't have a strategy" hurts Obama today. by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Purveyor of Truth Yeppers, the quote above from The Washington Post sums it up quite well. As I was watching TV with the wife and we heard the President utter his truth we both looked at each other and said almost in perfect sync, damn that was dumb . ...

PEW Research: 2014 Midterms and Republian Optimism...

Image
by; Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Purveyor of Truth With just over two months left until the 2014 midterm elections republicans remain optimistic while democrats are decidedly more pessimistic. Given the present national landscape and world turmoil it is not surprising nor unexpected. From the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press : With just over two months before the midterm elections, Republican voters are widening the “expectations gap” with the Democrats. About six-in-ten (61%) Republican and GOP-leaning registered voters think their party will do better than in recent elections — roughly double the share of Democrats (32%) who feel similarly about their party’s chances. This gap has not reached the same levels of the GOP’s margin before their large 2010 gains or the Democrats’ expectations in their 2006 sweep of both houses of Congress. Last December, the expectations gap was narrower; 55% of Republicans and Republican-leaning registered voters said the...

The Scum of the Earth...

Image
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Purveyor of Truth ISIS Jihadist Scum As pathetic and revolting as it is there are scum that were born in this country and are fighting for the ISIS in Syria. More revolting is the cable and network news with their erroneous and disgusting reference to "American Extremist Killed Fighting for ISIS." What is true is true is this: 1)the bastard(s) were born in the USA, 2)they are not Americans, having renounced their right to USA citizenship the instance they became part of ISIS, and, 3) they deserve to die. This scum, born on USA soil can worship the false prophet mohammed, piss be upon him , and die in the hell holes of the Arab world. That is all I have to say and it is something I shall stand by until I die. NBC NEWS - The battle in itself seemed tragically normal. Two Syrian opposition groups fought and there were heavy casualties on both sides. Then victorious rebels rifled through the pockets of the dead. One conta...
