by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Liberty -vs- Tyranny I have recently become quite interested in the influence french philosopher Montesquieu had on the thinking of our founding fathers. While researching for a short time last night I came across some quotes attributed to him that remain quite relevant today. Especially in this, the age of growing religious intolerance. Given the possibility that His Frothiness {Santorum} is, and will continue to gain ground among the "socon" republican ranks in his quest to fulfill "Gods Will" to become the next president of the US I thought it helpful to pass on the following for those who already are, or may be considering supporting him. Santorum, like so many other religious "socons" pose perhaps the greatest threat to individual liberties than anything currently on our radar scope. Charles Montesquieu - I can assure you that no kingdom has ever had as many civil wars as the kingdom of Christ. Do y...

by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Liberty -vs- Tyranny President Rutherford B. Hayes President Obama in his recent remarks on energy reached back in time to find a former republican President that he said was resistant to change and progress. Of course his plan was to draw parallels between this President of the later half of the 1800's and present day republicans that question his {Obama's} wisdom on energy. Politico 44 - "One of my predecessors, President Rutherford B. Hayes, reportedly said about the telephone: 'It’s a great invention but who would ever want to use one?'" Obama said. "That's why he's not on Mt. Rushmore." "He's looking backwards, he's not looking forward. He's explaining why we can't do something instead of why we can do something," Obama said. "The point is there will always be cynics and naysayers." Had the President checked his information... The curator of the R...

by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Liberty -vs- Tyranny The visual sickens me. Upon seeing this I could only sit, with my head in my hands and wonder what in the hell is the democratic party, and it's supporters coming to. The American flag belongs to the American people. It represents the thirteen original colonies that gave birth to this nation of ours and the fifty states that make up the United States today. It stands for the concept of liberty and the freedoms that millions of Americans have died for in giving birth to, and defending. It is larger than one man, any man. Whether they be this president or any other. Placing the image of the current, or any future president amounts to both a desecration of our flag and signifies that that one person is greater than the union they were elected to serve. It is both a disgrace and a insult to everything our republic was built on and should still stand on. The democratic party headquarters in Florida's Lake County...
