How is it possible a sitting Senator has no relation with the highest ranking leader of his party?

That speaks volumes as to why Washington is so full of dysfunction. These folks do not communicate and probably due to their overgrown egos, can't stand each other either.

You could never manage a company with a team like this, let alone a country.Dave Millerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04272431500457083818noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8549971354391868786.post-70571483099840605242016-04-28T21:50:28.708-04:002016-04-28T21:50:28.708-04:00Dervish, when the GOP goes back into the woods for...Dervish, when the GOP goes back into the woods for another 40 years, like it was before Gingrich, their ability to render services at the local level will decline, and the party will regionalize in the South, and some other parts of the country. We saw a similar situation with the Democrats after WWII. The party eventually split, with a regional faction in the South, and some other parts of the country, that are now mostly all Republican. It is the demographic that is the problem. Eventually, I see the GOP splitting, but it will be a while coming, and at that point I suppose we'll see the rise of the third, rightist, party, unless the attitudes of that demographic happen to change.

JMJJersey McJoneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15426560061830038806noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8549971354391868786.post-12328671028166913332016-04-28T19:46:42.457-04:002016-04-28T19:46:42.457-04:00Yup skudrunner, the unmaking began over thirty yea...Yup skudrunner, the unmaking began over thirty years ago and it has continued unabated in the GOP. Trump will be the cause of the GOP burning to the ground, but perhaps it will be like a phoenix and rise from the ashes? Republicans will concede the presidency for many cycles to come and be content with controlling a majority of state legislatures and governorships and well as the House & Senate (even if the Senate flips). If they start losing state legislatures and governorships, THAT would qualify as "self destruction" and THEN they might "rebuild from the ground up". But not before.

Also, given that they control a majority of the state legislatures and governorships, their last gasp strategy for winning the presidency will be more/continued voter suppression.Dervish Sandershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13671865801885224353noreply@blogger.com
