Of course he was calling Bush unpatriotic! And those other 2 examples, no, he's not questioning the individuals' patriotism or love of country but he in the first instance and his henchmen in the latter are most definitely impugning the character of these people and it's small, quite small. Will "take no prisoners" Harthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02315659209094683602noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8549971354391868786.post-56372331020488103352015-02-22T14:21:06.864-05:002015-02-22T14:21:06.864-05:00Will, you did not give us one piece of evidence wh...Will, you did not give us one piece of evidence where Obama claimed one of his opponents does not love America. Also, you may want to consider the fact that it's silly to call deficits "unpatriotic," since deficits are not people. But your own quote shows that Obama called the deficit unpatriotic, not Bush. If I told you your house is ugly, that's not the same as saying you are ugly. Get it? BTW, I'm fairly sure you're a good looking person. I was just trying to give you an example. So there you have it. None of your examples show Mr. Obama questioning any of his opponents' love of America. Not one. Giuliani is a political hack. Happy? And you must have missed it in 2008 when Obama referred to Bush's deficits as "unpatriotic", in 2011 when he referred to Paul Ryan's budget (which increased spending by 40% over 11 years) as "thinly veiled Social Darwinism" and the whole 2012 campaign in which his henchmen absolutely eviscerated Romney (blaming the man for some woman's cancer death, etc.) and made him seem like an absolute monster. Sorry but it absolutely IS a "He does it, too!" contest. Will "take no prisoners" Harthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02315659209094683602noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8549971354391868786.post-56220495429971329962015-02-21T09:17:31.135-05:002015-02-21T09:17:31.135-05:00Yeah. Right, Will. Because the pile of asshatter...Yeah. Right, Will. Because the pile of asshattery that Giuliani said in that Koch brothers sponsored event is the same as everything this president has said? Can you ever read a criticism of a jerk on the right without dragging the senseless "they admire Obama, too!" as though there's a comparison.

This is a specific criticism of a right wing pol who stated that the president of the United States doesn't love his country. An absurd and moronic thing for anyone to say. It is particularly insidious with this president, since the crazies on the right have tried to define him as "Other," "Not One Of US," since he won the nomination in 2008. ANyone with half a brain can see what people like Giuliani are trying to do with that sort of slanderous speech.

As far as I know, Mr. Obama never accused any of his political foes of disloyalty to this country, of not loving America, or of being a traitor to this country. More than a few on the right have said that of Mr. Obama. That's what this discussion is about. It's not a "He does it too!" contest. Mr. Obama can be admired for a lot of reasons, one of them is that he's not a political hack who questions other people's love of America. The GOP has always prided itself on being the party of Family Values, yet Rudy is the guy who cheated on two wives, and dallied with the third one while still married to the 2nd, the mother of his children. Normally we don't care about politicians' private extra-marital affairs, except Giuliani puts himself out there as a representative of the Family Values Party, the GOP. It's more than a bit embarrassing for the people in the GOP who worry about what gay marriage will do to families, but ignore their heterosexual leaders who make those values a sordid joke.

Giuliani's pushed to have his good friend, Bernie Kerik, named to head the Dept. of Homeland Security, except there was one "small" problem with this dear friend, he was a felon. Nice friend you got there Rudy.

Rudy also bragged about how he "would go anywhere, any place, anytime, and wouldn't give a damn what the President of the United States said, to defend my country." Except, of course, when it was time to "defend my country," Rudy got deferments, so those words are nothing more than twaddling bravado coming from a draft-dodging coward.

And then there's his slander about Obama's upbringing, which Giuliani believes is the reason Mr. Obama doesn't love his country the way that Giuliani does. Mr. Obama's grandparents and his maternal uncle served with distinction their country during WWII, unlike Giuliani's father who was a hired thug for the Mafia and who served time in prison as a felon, and who NEVER served during WWII. The armed forces don't draft felons.

So all together, when we look at the truth of Rudy's background and who he REALLY is, compared with Mr. Obama's background, the facts are plain to see. President Obama shines beside that political hack. And those on the right who defend the miscreant are entirely welcome to the fraud.Shaw Kenawehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08637273000409613497noreply@blogger.com
