However, the more I thought about if I or someone I loved were suffering with no hope of relief or rehabilitation, the more I came to question the criminalization of Kevorkian. And when I started practicing Japanese swordsmanship a decade ago, I did a lot of research on feudal Samurai and the practice of seppuku (ritual suicide). After a lot of thought, I came to understand the need for suicide in certain circumstances. <br /><br />I agree with you: it's NOT the government's place to force someone to live in pain.
