Be Concerned... VERY, VERY Concerned...

NYTOn Sunday, Michael Caputo, the assistant secretary for public affairs at the Department of Health and Human Services, warned of left-wing insurrectionists and “sedition” within the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention during a video he hosted live on his Facebook page. After predicting victory for President Trump in the upcoming election, Caputo warned that Joe Biden wouldn’t concede. “And when Donald Trump refuses to stand down at the inauguration, the shooting will begin,” he said. “The drills that you’ve seen are nothing.”

Ordinarily, in a presidential election year, the main story of American politics is the election — its twists and turns, its ups and downs. This year, that story is hard to convey. Part of the reason for this is that the race itself is unremarkable, despite everything else that’s happening around it. Biden is ahead, most voters have made up their minds and Trump has a narrow path to re-election, with few opportunities to recover lost ground.

The larger, more important factor is that Trump isn’t actually running for re-election — or at least, not running in the traditional manner. He has a campaign, yes, but it is not a campaign to win votes or persuade the public outside of a few, select slivers of the electorate. Instead, it’s a campaign to hold on to power by any means necessary, using every tool available to him as president of the United States. Caputo, in that sense, is only taking cues from his boss.

Of course, Trump would like to obtain a proper victory. But it’s clear he’s not counting on it. That is why the most visible aspect of Trump’s campaign for continued power is his attack on the election itself. If he doesn’t win, he says again and again, then the outcome isn’t legitimate. He said it last month, during a trip to Wisconsin:

The only way we’re going to lose this election is if the election is rigged. Remember that. It’s the only way we’re going to lose this election, so we have to be very careful.

He said it again on Saturday, to cheering supporters at a rally in Nevada. “I am going to start by saying that the Democrats are trying to rig this election because it’s the only way they are going to win.”

Along with this warning comes Trump’s call for supporters to act as “poll watchers” to prevent imaginary fraud at voting locations. “Watch it,” he said last week during a rally in North Carolina. “Be poll watchers when you go there. Watch all the thieving and stealing and robbing they do.” He added that after they vote, his supporters should “make sure it counts” because the “only way” Democrats can win is by “doing very bad things.”

Continue BELOW the FOLD.

Make no mistake. Trump is taking his strategy right out of Hitler's playbook. Everyone with an inquisitive and active mind must have figured out by now why it was trump kept (keeps) Hitler's Mein Kampf by his bedside.

Be concerned, VERY, VERY concerned.

  1. We may be assured that Trump has not read Mein Kampf, or has the slightest
knowledge of Goebbels, Himmler or Goering. Glued to FoxNooz, QAnon and the
wrestling channel, he hasn't the time. We surmise, therefore that he is
an innate born again Fascist. Consider:
Goebbels- His primary rules were: never allow the public to cool off; never admit a fault or wrong; never concede that there may be some good in your enemy; never leave room for alternatives; never accept blame; concentrate on one enemy at a time and blame him for everything that goes wrong; people will believe a big lie sooner ...
Himmler: “The best political weapon is the weapon of terror. Cruelty commands respect. Men may hate us. But, we don't ask for their love; only for their fear."
Goering: "Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country."
..of course we know all that. But perhaps some the less informed that show up
spouting this crap that show up here, pause and reflect.

    1. Well BB Idaho, I suppose you might be right. But I know trump is not illiterate an I can't help but wonder why trump had a copy of Mein Kamph by his bed, acording to a former wife. After observing his antics over the last almost 4 years it sure seems he's following a playbook. However he arrived at it it sure looks a lot like the 1930s German leader's game plan. You reaffirmed that conviction in my mind with your comment!

  2. Yes, his wife noted that. Given that his briefing papers had to be replaced by soundbites and
cartoons, that he got into college after someone did his SATs and his books ghostwritten, my
thinking is that he is not much of a reader. Like der Fuhrer, his choice of appointments is
based entirely on loyalty to him personally, regardless of any other qualification..and like
Adolf, those choices (say Steven Miller, William Barr, Screwy Guiliani, the dept heads etc)
embrace the deplorable 'accept no responsibility, blame others, if you're not with me-you are
a traitor and of course the familiar 'big lie'. I grew bored with Mein Kampf in college,
Recent European History, as it was tedious, complaining and frankly outlandish. Almost as bad
as 'The Art of The Deal'! Will Kellyanne Conway vote for Biden? :)

  3. Not much of a reader BB? Our president said yesterday that he read Woodward's new book in one day. Took it all in. He would be misleading us would he?
