Spoken Like a True Dyed In the Blue Statist...
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation U S A Purveyor of Truth Ever hear of or read Mother Jones ? Well I just did, and as near as I can figure she must be Woodrow Wilson's or Franklin Delano Roosevelt's Mother. I say this because she sure as hell is pro statist and pumped up for growing the government bureaucracy. The article is short so it is being reproduced here in full. This site appreciates Mother Jones candor in expressing the statist credo and the desire on the part of the left for an ever larger and more intrusive presence in our daily affairs and lives. January's job numbers were fairly dismal, but the bad cheer wasn't equally spread. Private sector employment, as usual, increased—by 142,000 jobs last month. At the same time, public sector employment declined. Government employment at all levels was down 29,000 in January. Aside from the brief census blip in early 2010, this has been the usual state of affairs for the past four years, ever since the rece

Rational Nation USA Purveyor of Truth 2015 is going to be a very busy year for the Supreme Court of the United States and one that will result in defining moments on several fronts or issues. In just the first six months the SCOTUS will hear issues major that have divided political and social spectrum for some time. Topping the list are: 1) Obama care 2) Same-sex marriage equality 3) Religious freedom 4) Freedom of speech For details on the above short list and more GO HERE . Via: Memeorandum
Is Our Democratic Republic At Risk From Forces Both Foreign and Within?...
We are moving this running post up to front page this evening where it will remain until January 3'rd 2017 when we will return to single posts, hopefully on a daily basis. There is much to do in getting the TRUTH out about Donald J Trump, a dishonest, totally self absorbed, and dangerous individual. He may be the president on January 20th but that does not mean thoughtful and concerned people shouldn't challenge Trump at every turn and fight his agenda whenever it runs contrary to their interests and those of their family. More to come. BTW, be sure to read today's entry, 12/28/16, below. this is just one example AND, it is just the beginning. You've probably noticed the brief posts of late. Posts with very short commentary by the weblolg administrator followed by an article that goes into the subject in much greater detail. This has been done purposefully following the rancorous 2016 election, and because its Christmas Time, soon to be a New Year. This posting f
April Job Numbers Appear Improved... Are They Really?
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Lib erty -vs- Tyra nny The April job reports are out. The good news is unemployment fell to a four year low, certainly at year six in Obama's Presidential tenure strikes a positive note. Or does it? At the same time the number of people employed part time rose as well as strong indications are showing the Affordable Care Act (ACA aka ObamaCare) will have a long term negative impact on the USA economy. The following is an interesting analysis and one that certainly has some credibility. AEI - US job growth in April beat economist expectations as nonfarm payrolls rose 165,000, and the jobless rate fell to a four-year low of 7.5%. But the report contained worrisome signs that President Obama’s health care reform law is hurting full-time, high-wage employment. While the American economy added 293,000 jobs last month, according to the separate household survey, the number of persons employed part time for economic reasons — “involuntar

Artur Davis Calls Biden Remarks 'Racial Visiousness'...
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Liberty -vs- Tyranny Artur Davis, articulate, intelligent, honest, and spot on in his criticism of both Vice President Joe (Dufus) Biden and President Obama. ( CNN ) - Artur Davis, the former four-term Democratic congressman from Alabama, said Wednesday that Vice President Joe Biden was propagating "racial viciousness" when he said Mitt Romney's regulatory policies would "put y'all back in chains." Biden made the comments Tuesday to a predominantly black crowd in Danville, Virginia, a city with a long history of racial tension. In May Davis announced he was switching to the GOP, leaving the door open to a future political bid as a Republican. Skip Davis, who is black, said the comment smacked of a type of divisiveness he said was all too common in the South. "It brought back memories for me," Davis told Wolf Blitzer on CNN's "The Situation Room." "It brought back memories of th
From the Tea-Publican Right...
Rational Nation U S A Purveyor of Truth Seen today on a rightwing tea-publican weblog. When "their side" has nothing of substance to offer, and they known it, posters such as the one below become popular. Such posters are considered intellectual by the teabag folks on the right. To be balanced such posters do find their way onto left-wing weblogs. The difference? Posters on left-wing sights generally carry a valid message and the commentary factually supports the message of the post. Some random commentary from the tea-publican weblog follows. They adequately explain the reason for the poster at the top of the main page. The Debonair Dudes World October 26, 2015 at 6:46 AM I think that most Americans, be them Democrats, liberals, conservatives and or independents alike have had more than enough of President Obama’s No Strategy, No Plan, No Idea of what he is doing nor what he should be doing... . "Buddhanature is the innate primordial freedom of the mind, which is naturally imbued with wisdom, compassion, power, and bliss." Karl Brunnholzl Today w e feature a guest article by Eva Benoit . She is a life coach who specializes in helping others who experience the suffering of anxiety. More about Eva in her own words: I began my career as an office manager, which actually started my journey to becoming a life coach. I was constantly bombarded with employees telling me about their work stress, which naturally turned into a conversation about everything — work-related or not — that took a toll on their mental well-being. I found that my most satisfying workdays were those that allowed me to help someone take control over their stress, whether it was something I was able to do in my role as the office manager or just as a compassionate listening ear. It wasn’t long before I scheduled monthly lunch meetings where the entire office practiced stress-fighting techniq
Looking To 2016...
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation U S A Purveyor of Truth Following last nights rather mundane and short on specifics SOTU by President Obama I started thinking about the future and if there is anyone in the current ranks of the GOP or the Libertarian Party who could possibly be elected to the presidency in 2016. Frankly given the crop of malcontents and loonies(Christie doesn't fall into that group but he has shot himself in the big toe) that seem to be getting attention in the GOP it appears unlikely. Tonight while browsing the net the following article popped up and given the headline was along my line of thinking last it was a must read. Got me thinking again and if the GOP can find the intelligence to act along the lines of thought presented in the article there may just be a real race in 2016 rather than a shoo in for the democrats. NationalJournal - For a party that's accustomed to nominating the next-in-line presidential candidate, 2016 promises to be a very un
Super Bowl 54
ReplyDeleteGo San Fran 49'niners
First Super Bowl I watched in its entirety was KC vs Minn... And I was rooting for KC.
ReplyDeleteOnce again I was rooting for them and I was not disappointed...
San Fran was my choice Dave but I must say Mahomes and the Cheif earned the win. Really stepped up to win it. Mahomes could

ReplyDeleteDave Miller the Self Proclaimed Mexican Reverend wrote at 1:22 PM
Bots... that's all "people" like S.S are. They have no real online presence. No profile, no actual blogs, nothing! Probably because they can't formulate an independent idea or thought. It's all, their comments and quips,
AND THIS COMING FROM A HYPOTHETICAL LIBERAL WHO HAS COMPLETELY CLOSED HIS BLOG TO EVERYONE.
First, Dave Miller has more integrity, decency, intelligence, patriotism, and grasp of reality in his pinky finger than you have ever had in your entirety.
DeleteWhy don't you provide a link to the alleged comment? What's the problem? You too stoopid to do so?
Now, either stay on topic, offer something truthful, or keep the f*co out. If not your comment shall not be published.
Go Fuck Yourselve!
DeleteWell SS... I stopped blogging on certain platforms because it became impossible to have intelligent conversations with many on the right. I was tired of deleting off topic rants, rants that were just copy and paste jobs, rants with no basis in fact and rants with horrible English.
ReplyDeleteI can argue with the best of them, but at the end of the day, I want smart dialogue with people who can see and appreciate nuance and choose not to live in a non-existent binary world where everything is right/wrong or black/white. A blog where everyone just blasts opinion and the loudest, crudest voices and comments rise to the top, is not for me.
As for my title, can you provide one link where I've ever claimed to be Reverend? Just one. Go ahead... I'll wait.
And I'll wait a long time, because you'll never find one. Anywhere.

DeleteDonald J. Trump loves the folks you speak of above Dave. He's the bigliest bully at the top of the heap. And he draws like minded trash to his cult. Now, I know there are a lot of reasonable, intelligent, thoughtful, and decent right of center individuals. I Have worked for many and had more than a few working for me in my past life in industry. Many of these people are I'm sure supportive of Trump, although I will never understand why. I doubt many of the decent folks of the right who support Trump's economic policies are supportive of his treatment of those he perceives as his enemies. Maybe with the newest example of Trump leaning on AG Barr to undercut his prosecutors to give Stone favorable treatment more folks will realize the danger Trump really is to our Nation of Laws. Well, up to now we've been a nation of laws. I for one am NOT holding my breathe believing we'll always remain one. Trump is presently working diligently to change that IMO.
A tip from a "Friend".. Go take a look at KIDS blog. They have been very unkind to you there.
ReplyDeleteAs you enclosed Friend in parenthesis, indicating you are NOT my friend and you have no blog profile I know the game you're playing. I don't bite. So, you'll have to "forgive" me when I assure you I have NO interest or intention of visiting Kids' blog.
DeleteRN... interesting that SS would come here, and on a post about honesty, be dishonest, some would say lie, in the first line of his post.
ReplyDeleteIrony.
