A majority of Republicans now want a do-over.

A new poll by the Huffington Post and YouGov shows that 54 percent of Republican and Republican-leaning voters now say that Donald Trump was not the best choice for the GOP nomination, up from 44 percent in June. Meanwhile, the number of Republican voters who say Trump was the best option fell from 44 to 35 percent.

In comparison, 53 percent of Democratic and Democratic-leaning voters say Hillary Clinton was the Democrats' best option, compared to 56 percent in June. And 37 percent say she was not the best option, up from the previous 32 percent.

The numbers show Republicans are much more likely to disapprove of their candidate for president. Democrats do voice some discontent, but it’s not nearly at the Republicans’ level.

Suck it up GOP Tea Party malcontents. Ya got what ya paid (voted) for. Now the entire conservative movement will pay, as well as the GOP. Probably for the next 50 years. Be proud, hold your heads high. Ya nominated the yuuugest SCHMUCK you could possibly find to vote for.

  2. Funny sarcasm. You're a gem.

What would have been wrong with Rubio or Kasich?

Take heart. Hillary wants to be your president too!

  3. This happened because people don't vote in primaries. Or, far more vote in the general election and leave the primary voting to a much smaller minority. 28.5% of eligible voters cast primary ballots this year according to this source). Compare that to general election turnout of 57.5% in 2012, 62.3% in 2008, 60.4% in 2004 and 54.2% in 2000 (presidential election years).
