A Tragedy Being Politicized...

Two views, one tragedy.
"We've experienced so much hateful language... such a negative environment has been created around the work that Planned Parenthood does," said Vicki Cowart, president and CEO of Rocky Mountains Planned Parenthood, on ABC News "This Week with George Stephanopoulos."
"We've seen that across the country from all sorts of speakers in the last few months," she added.

"I can't believe that this isn't contributing to some folks, mentally unwell or not, thinking that it's ok to target Planned Parenthood or to target abortion providers."

"We at Planned Parenthood are first and foremost a healthcare provider," Cowart said.

"We provide life-saving services to all kinds of folks, men and women, across our communities," she added.

"And the tirades against Planned Parenthood in the last few months have really been over the top.”

A despicable act of domestic terror. A mentally unstable personality spurred on by inflammatory speech?

What say you?

    1. It does seem to me there is correlation between the two. A truly stable person will not be swayed by such rhetoric. The unstable, especially the unstable religionists, find license is such rhetoric.

  2. Abortion should be a private, personal, quiet matter. It should not be in the domain of hot button topics. Regardless of the consequences, the political war on Planned Parenthood is just plain despicable.

    1. It is troubling reading and listening to some of the looniest of the rightwing rhetoric. Truly troubling,

The attacks on PP are without a doubt despicable.

  3. Rightwing Christian terrorism prompted by Republican potus candidates lying about Planned Parenthood/speaking about the faked video as if it were real. Huckabee being one of the worst in that regard. Perhaps you could say he has blood on his hands?

    1. Well, no, I wouldn't say he has blood on his hands Dervish. He has not suggested or condoned violence as a response to what he believes is violence towards unborn humans. I've certainly heard worse on some rightwing weblogs.

But yeah, in general I consider Huckabee a fundamentalist wingnut.

  4. A fetus is not a baby. By the same logic, I had unborn chickens for breakfast-- sunny side up.

A retiree on social security is not an undead corpse.

    1. <{;-)> I must say that at the age of viability the issue takes on a much larger scope, for me anyway. With the question of the women's health remaining a valid exception of course.

With advances in medical science I suspect viability will be achieved some sooner than at present.

      The struggle will continue.

  5. Cephalopod to humanoids: Your species is overrunning the planet and trashing it. Consider the dynamic of the supply-demand curve on price. As the supply of any commodity rises, such as humanoids, any humane regard for them is subject to price devaluation. Rhinos are priceless; humanoid are cheap and a dozen per dime (which is close to worthless). Reason? All that junk chimpanzee DNA in your gene pool.

  6. A strong argument for education in the increasing value of birth control as an economic, environmental, an ethical necessity. With contraceptives made very affordable and readily available to all.

Abortion, like warfare, should be used as the last resort. Available through the 1st trimester without restriction and into the 2 nd trimester until viability, normally around 20-21 weeks.

Etching anything in stone is generally a bad idea, as such there must be "wiggle" room in the above. For situations beyond anyone's control like if the life of the mother is known by medical science to be endangered, ie: carrying full term will kill the mother. There are undoubtedly other ethical exceptions to be considered. These decisions should be left to the woman and her doctor, in close consultation with any others the woman believes appropriate and important to the decision process.

Or, as you point out (O)CT(O)PUS humans can travel the other path and humankind will reap that which it has and will continue to sow.

Anyone know the percentage of life forms on the planet that have become extinct? Check it out. Were I an oddsmaker I would put the odds very high that humanoids will eventually fall into the extinct species column. Maybe that's part of god's universal plan?

  7. Another mass shooting in California ... at a disabilities treatment center. It doesn't get more depraved than this.

Time to shut down the NRA and impeach every DAMN congressperson in their employ !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. Octo, et al... given that conservatives do not like any proposed solutions by liberals, for a variety of reasons, maybe they could give some of us libs 1 or 2 proposed solutions they would like to see enacted on a national level to stop these frequent mass killings.

  9. I have a question for Marco Rubio.

He stated that 911 and Paris was part of God's bigger plan for the universe and that his ways are not our ways.

Does he also believe the mass murders are part of God's larger plan for our country as well?

As a fiscal conservative with liberal social leanings it frost me that republicans and conservatives offer nothing. I have posted views that support firearm ownership as well as advocating national uniform effective regulation, including background checks and more. Conservative and libertarians have criticized without offering any workable alternatives.

They apparently accept the current trend toward lawlessness and view the loss of innocent life as simply the price to be paid to retain their "liberty"...

  10. There is one area that I'm sure all sane folks will agree about: stolen identities. If some gangbanger with a rapsheet gets a hold of some honest joe's identity, you can bet that gangbanger will do all he can to buy guns before that honest joe can report the identity theft. That is the one thing that concerns me about Gun TV, since there is no failsafe protection for identity theft.
