A Self Described Moderate Weblog...

Rational Nation USA
Purveyor of Truth

Found today on a weblog that attempts to pass itself off as a moderate site. Folks who are familiar with the weblog content know that the proprietor is anything but moderate and balanced.

On Bernie Sanders, Hillary Clinton, Martin O'Malley, and Lincoln Chafee Not Having the Courage to Say that ALL FUCKING LIVES MATTER!!

The Democratic party of Ed Koch, John F. Kennedy, John Glenn, Sam Nunn, Al Smith, Lee Hamilton, Bill Clinton, Dennis DeConcini, Lloyd Bentsen, Jimmy Carter, Birch Bayh, William Proxmire, Daniel Patrick Moynihan, Chuck Robb, David Boren, and Bill Daley Sr. - What happened to it, folks? I mean, I understand that the Republicans have gone a little batty, too, but for those Democrats (save for Jim Webb) to have reduced themselves to that level of pandering was sad, nauseating, and disturbing. Flat out.

What is most glaring is the statement democrats have reduced themselves to that level of pandering was sad, nauseating, and disturbing. Flat out. While I personally would have answered the question the weblog owner is referencing differently, and in a manner that acknowledged all lives indeed matter, his characterization of democrats as pandering would apply equally to republicans that pander to billionaires and corporate entities. Presumably in the conservatives interest in getting elected, and we all know to what ends that leads when it happens. But hey, it is politics and the our side versus their side and winner take all mentality prevails. Most notably among conservatives and conservatives pretending to be moderate.

Tomorrow is another day...

  1. I noticed this post as well. The blogger in question certainly is PO'd that the Democratic potus hopefuls dared to take the concerns of the BLM movement seriously, isn't he? Listening to the concerns of those you wish to get votes from is what a politician is SUPPOSED to do. All lives do matter, but substituting that in place of Black Lives Matter is done to dismiss the concerns of the BLM movement, I think. Those who don't want these concerns addressed say (with "all lives matter") that there is no problem. He thinks the primary reason the police are killing Black people at a rate that is 300 percent higher than for Whites is because Black people are so much more violent. According to this blogger the bigger problem that some Black people are killing other Black people. However, those doing the killing are criminals. And, while criminals break the law, the police are supposed to uphold it.

Also, who is the blogger he thinks did a 180? My guess is that he is referring to RN.

  2. You may be right. That particular blogger however is in err. He overshot the degree mark among other things. But that particular blogger is of course shilling for his pet issues. Which as we know is commonplace.

  3. I think the "180" blogger is RN. There are some who perceive a battle for RN's political soul, and have blogged, now, multiple times on RN having supposedly left the fold of ideological conformance. Too much worry about other bloggers' politics, in my view.

  4. One of the comments on that blog claims that the Democratic Party has "lost its courage." What he means is not clear. But this is: It takes ZERO courage to insult and slander people he doesn't know on a blog. That's what little weenie cowards do, and everyone knows it. That guy talks about losing courage when he knows nothing about having it.

  5. Only a matter of time before I am banned there, as well. The super profane hyperbolic rants a/la tempest in a teapot make it so I won't really care.

  6. It is puzzling why this particular blogger has morphed from moderate and reasonable to a strident right wing leaning mouthpiece that bans those who submit opposing views he cannot rationally argue.

    It is what it is.

  7. I too noticed his increasing use of profanity. Previously I've noted that "this guy is becoming increasingly foul-mouthed and more often than not aligning himself with the Right... this despite him believing he is an Independent".

Anyway, if dmarks is banned I think he'll have to ban himself. I've never seen him write anything that might get him banned on this blog... aside from some minor disagreement. BTW, if being banned by this blogger is now something to be proud of, I'd like to note that I was banned first... and quite some time ago.
