As the Obama Administration and a Compliant Lame Stream Media Continue the Benghazi Spin...
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Liberty -vs- Tyranny From the lame stream media, no doubt fed by the not to be trusted Obama administration, we are hearing more false spin from dutiful left wing wing nuts. The Washington Post The Romney campaign may have misfired with its suggestion that statements by President Obama and U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice about the Benghazi attack last month weren’t supported by intelligence, according to documents provided by a senior U.S. intelligence official. “Talking points” prepared by the CIA on Sept. 15, the same day that Rice taped three television appearances, support her description of the Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. Consulate as a reaction to Arab anger about an anti-Muslim video prepared in the United States. According to the CIA account, “The currently available information suggests that the demonstrations in Benghazi were spontaneously inspired by the protests at the U.S. Embassy in Cairo and evolved into a direct assault agains
It's Going To Be Close, Brace Yourself For Continued Polarization of America, Especially if Obama Loses...
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Liberty -vs- Tyranny The race is close, very close, with the momentum shifting to Romney. However, my take is the shift, as significant as it has been, came too late and too little. Progressives no doubt are biting their nails because as much as they prefer not to acknowledge it, this one is a real cliff hanger. Reminiscent of 2000. It is true if Obama loses this one progressives throughout the land will be wailing and gnashing their teeth. For them it will be a great undoing of their greatest hopes and dreams. Of course the other fifty percent of America will view it quite differently. So, as the polls close tomorrow, and the tabulating of the vote goes late into the night, we can be sure of a few thing... The nation will remain polarized, the puppet masters behind the curtains will continue calling the shots, the debt and deficits will continue, no mater who wins. And America will continue to ask why. Tomorrow, as I visit my polli
Another Republican Accused Of Sexual Misconduct...
David French had the following to say regarding Roy Moore and his alleged sexual misconduct 40 years ago. Conservatives, be careful. Don’t dismiss the claims. While I don’t know if the allegations are true, I’m deeply troubled on a number of grounds. First, these women didn’t seek out the press. According to the Post report, its reporters reached out to them after hearing that “Moore allegedly had sought relationships with teenage girls.” So far as we know, they weren’t put forward by the opposing campaign, and the woman who made the most serious allegations against Moore says that she voted for Trump in 2016. None of the women have donated to Moore’s primary or general-election opponent. Second, if you read the report, it includes validation from a number of witnesses who say that they were aware of the relationships at the time. While this isn’t proof of guilt of course, it bolsters the credibility of the accusers. Third, the youngest accuser’s explanation for her decision n

The "Scandal" That Won't Go Away...
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Lib erty -vs- Tyr anny CBS - Obama administration officials who were in key positions on Sept. 11, 2012, acknowledge that a range of mistakes were made the night of the attacks on the U.S. missions in Benghazi, and in messaging to Congress and the public in the aftermath. The officials spoke to CBS News in a series of interviews and communications under the condition of anonymity so that they could be more frank in their assessments. They do not all agree on the list of mistakes and it's important to note that they universally claim that any errors or missteps did not cost lives and reflect "incompetence rather than malice or cover up." Nonetheless, in the eight months since the attacks, this is the most sweeping and detailed discussion by key players of what might have been done differently. "We're portrayed by Republicans as either being lying or idiots," said one Obama administration official who was part
Illinois Democrats Move To Tighten Firearm Regulation/Restrictions...
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Liberty -vs- Tyranny As the country struggles to understand, and come to grips with random acts of firearm violence by unstable and unbalanced individuals Illinois is already taking action to further regulate firearms. Like the millions of law abiding citizens I am torn between the right to bear firearms and finding the point at which it makes logical sense to restrict that right. In a modern society in which the tools of warfare are advanced beyond what the founders could possibly have envisioned, and the efficiency of modern armies are such that the citizens would stand no reasonable chance against the modern army, does the possession of semiautomatic assault weapons have any real purpose for the homeowner and sportsman? If deemed they do should they not be highly regulated and restricted to HELP reduce the incidents of tragedies like Sandy Hook? I certainly do not have the answers, nor do I believe the anti-gun crowd has the answers eith
Democrats Bought By Special Interest Money, and They Say It's All Republicans...
Rational Nation USA Purveyor of Truth We'll start with the thing that will catch your attention, as is the way: Democrats who voted for the giant spending bill on Thursday night received, on average, twice the campaign contributions from the finance/insurance/real estate industry as their colleagues who voted against it. Yes folks, it's true. Money talks, regardless of party affiliation. And so we continue witnessing the purchase of influence by the wealthy and powerful. Does this register? Does it tell us anything? Should it tell us anything? Or do we simply go along to get along and be thankful things are as they are? It seems worth questioning what we view as our biggest national domestic problems. READ THE FULL WASHINGTON POST ARTICLE . Via: Memeoandum UPDATE : JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon made calls to lawmakers on Thursday urging them to support the “cromnibus” spending bill... Dimon's involvement came amid progressive outrage that the House cromnib
Drain the Swamp and Dump Its Lerader In 2020...
May 28, 2020-The Lincoln Project’s latest ad released today shows that U.S. Senate Majority Leader and senior senator from Kentucky, Mitch McConnell, made tens of millions of dollars since he was first elected to office. Meanwhile, Kentucky ranks 40th in job opportunity in the nation, 45th in education, and 43rd in health care. “I’m a conservative lawyer of the type that McConnell has prided himself for putting on the bench. But precisely because I’m a conservative lawyer, I believe most fundamentally in the Constitution and the rule of law,” said Lincoln Project co-Founder George Conway. “When he fixed the impeachment trial by blocking evidence of Trump’s high crimes and misdemeanors, McConnell violated and abased the solemn oaths he took as a United States Senator. Add in the fact that, as our ad shows, he’s managed to do much better for himself than for the people of Kentucky, and it becomes a no-brainer: McConnell has to go.” It is most critically important that we DUMP TRU
Explain This Liberals...
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Lib e rty -vs- Tyr a nny The headline and the text below is self sufficient. The ball is again in your court liberals. AFRICAN AMERICAN NEWS - Cosby, an outspoken voice on cultural issues, says the recent trial did not prove that Zimmerman had racist motives at any point during his confrontation with Martin. That means race shouldn't be a part of the conversation regarding the case. "Let's not go into a racial discussion unless we really have something there," he told radio hosts Domenick Nati and Nate Foutz. Cosby also blasted the news media and said that he had stopped paying attention to "high-profile" court cases after the Casey Anthony murder trial because journalists were so convinced she would be found guilty and yet she was not.... Regarding the Zimmerman trial, Cosby said that he did not think the state of Florida was able to prove its case against him. "I found that the prosecuti
I wouldn't be surprised if he's the nominee in the end.
ReplyDeleteJMJ
I would be actually. He's way too sane for the current tea-publican base. Hell, even Jeb, the once assumed certain nominee can't get any traction.
ReplyDeleteIt is the more right-wing primary voters who will turn out in droves that will ultimately ďecige the parties nominee.
I like Kasich too. He is even too sane for the far left progressives who support Sanders and the Hillary supporters who only want to see a woman get in,regardless that she is just another lying ignoramus
ReplyDelete"...just another lying ignoramus." Writes the woman who believes in "false facts," and hosts boys on her blog who refer to Mr and Mrs Obama in the most sickening racist teams. Then she calls libruls racist ? Jeebus! How does anyone who supports racist scum like RRand RS deserve anything other than contempt for her disgusting support of KKK racism? Possibly she's not aware of her boyfriends' bigotry? Nah. She lets their fetid hatred of African Americans ( only if they're liberals) onto her blog because she agrees with their slime. She is the Queen of Porn and racist grung after all Racism for libruls = Good, but not good for Kindly Dr Ben Goofy.
DeleteLisa is not one for facts and specifics seem difficult for her. It is far easier for her to simply bark ignoramus than to outline what it is that leads her to
Deletebelieve so. Your judgement of her weblog content and
the character of some of her regular low life visitors is spot on. Lisa, for whatever the reason refuses to recognize how her providing a platform and support for them reflects on her.
Lisa is appreciative of one of the GOP candidates pointing out how Looney the other candidates are? As for Dems wanting a woman to get in even if she's a lying ignoramus... Democrats will not vote for Carly Fiorina!
ReplyDeleteAnd democrats would vote for Hillary over Kasich.
DeleteHe has no chance because he makes to much sense. You do give the fringe right (tparty) too much credit for carrying the party. Neither the tparty or the fringe left (progressives) will decide the election. It is the independent voter who will carry the water. Unfortunately their choice will be hillary and who ever the GOP sanctifies. I am waiting for a chance to vote for someone instead of against the other. That hasn't happened in decades.
ReplyDeleteYes, independents hold the key. They usually do and generally they use their head to vote as they lack the partisan ideological lockbox mentality of the tea-publicans and some establishment GOP.
DeleteDems have their problems as well. But at this juncture in our history the repubs present the greatest threat to our freedom and civil liberties. IMEO.
Yes, independents hold the key.
DeleteUntrue. According to the nonpartisan Center for Politics, "research by political scientists on the American electorate has consistently found that the large majority of self-identified independents are 'closet partisans' who think and vote much like other partisans. Independent Democrats and independent Republicans have little in common. Moreover, independents with no party preference have a lower rate of turnout than those who lean toward a party and typically make up less than 10% of the electorate. Finally, independents don’t necessarily determine the outcomes of presidential elections; in fact, in all three closely contested presidential elections since 1972, the candidate backed by most independent voters lost".
Interesting study. Rather pointless because if the research is valid nuttin is gonna change and we all might as well have a beer and read the comic strips.
DeleteI would not disagree that both sides come at what is good for the nation from different approaches.
ReplyDeleteThere are extremists on both sides as there always has been. There are also smart reasonable people on both sides and they have difficulty raising above the roar.
If you look at the candidates in both parties. Every one of the candidates on the GOP side preached creating jobs and providing opportunities. Both the candidates on the democrat side preach give away's . Sanders is in the race so he can bring the democrat nominee further left.
With the robust economy created by the current administration, are you really ready for a continuation of the same. I would like to see my kids prosper and not live off the labor of others.
If threat to freedom means gutting obamacare and giving people a chance to advance there lives, I guess I have to lean that way.
I look at empirical data in full over the past 50 years and republican claims do not align with reality. The economy and the middle class does better under democratic oversight. Not an opinion but fact.
DeleteOpportunity is created when there is demand for goods and services. Jobs provide the means to secure desired goods and services. So yes, good paying jobs are definitely a necessary. Hint, tax breaks for the wealthy and multi billion dollar companies does not result in job creation, contrary to popular myth.
The "give away meme" is growing old and tiresome. But if you are talking about corporatism, crony capitalism, lobbyist influence, special subsidies, corporate welfare I agree. Time to put a stop to it.
Gut Obamacare, something I did not support, and replace it with what? A return to the old broken system? What? How about some ideas skudrunner.
The plutocrats and oligarchs, often in cahoots have been very successful in duping loads and loads of Americans. CU was of great help to them. As are the Super Pacs.
According to some, democrats 50 years ago weren't really democrats so who do we credit?
ReplyDeleteHow about opening up health insurance across state lines and providing subsidies for premiums for the poor. Tort reform to reduce the cost associated with healthcare. Allowing small businesses to provide assistance to their employees paying for healthcare insurance instead of making it impossible. Tax deductible health savings accounts to offset medical costs, of course you would have to work to do this.
The leftist talk about tax breaks for the wealthy is growing old and tired. BTW, how many jobs are going to be created if taxes on the "rich" is raised? The burdensome tax system makes it beneficial for the wealthy because they can shelter income and investments. How about tax reform, a consistent buzz word with no action. Agree with corporate cronyism and lobbyist but BHO is not going to allow lobbyist so that problem is taken care of.
What we need are more degrees in transgender relations paid for by the taxpayer and fewer machinists. This is the democrat idea that is resonating with their supporters.
Shrugs.
DeleteOMG, skud has a health plan ... with subsidies for the poor ... and "free stuff" too ... OMG!
DeleteHow many jobs will be created if taxes on the rich are raised? Lots and lots because then the goobermint will ... finally ... be able to balance the books while lowering taxes on the middle class which will boost discretionary consumer spending. Hot diggity!
May the Great and Mighty Cthulhu shed His grace on thee and and drown these hoods for the common good ... from sea to shining sea!
ReplyDeleteSo no ideas either, got it. Seems to be the democrat mantra.
ReplyDeleteMore government, raise taxes, provide no new ideas and remember more Free Stuff.
Like legs said, democrats are the same from sea to shining sea
You should write a book skudrunner. Maybe you could interest Lisa in being a co-author. You could title it "How To Be a Proud Tea Party Stalwart.... All Bull All the Time".
DeleteSkud... To change the insurance laws in this country to sell across state lines would take congress passing a law that usurps states rights.
ReplyDeleteHow do you see that happening? The Dems might actually support, but would the GOP? Of course not...
How do you see that getting through the house?
Very good question Dave. I looked but cannot find the democrat support for selling across state lines but there are several articles with republicans supporting it. Could you post a link to the democrat support.
ReplyDeleteI was asked to give ideas by les and I did. His response was to chide me, not unusual for a yellow dog democrat, but I didn't catch his or your ideas.
If you have no answer, insult, call them racist or silly but, like your candidate, never answer a question.
BTW RN, if Lisa wants to co-author a book, I am all in although that is not a catchy title so it would need work.
ReplyDeleteskudrunner & Dave - Link to NAIC that addresses the issue of interstate insurance from one perspective. It is likely why skudrunner couldn't find democrats who support interstate health insurance.
What would you expect a lobbing group to say? Your reference is an article put out by the lobbyists for insurance commissioners trying to protect their job. You know you can do better and this still does not address Dave's question or my response.
ReplyDeleteThe "selling across state lines" thing is a ploy by the insurance companies who all want to move to the state with the least restrictions. It's about escaping regulation, not about lowering prices. We need to start with a public option and eventually transition to single payer.
ReplyDeleteI looked but cannot find the democrat support for selling across state lines but there are several articles with republicans supporting it.
ReplyDeleteMy link was simply to suggest why you didn't find dems supporting your unsubstantiated claim. i am sure you can do a better job scudrunner.
There is a myriad of articles on the subject if one wishes to research the issue. You're more than welcome to do so and get back to us skudrunner, preferably with specific and verifiable data on why this is a good idea. You may use special interest groups or lobbyists if you choose and provide a link. Otherwise STFU.
