Reasonable Questions Deserving Of Reasonable Answers...

Rational Nation USA Purveyor of Truth

Questions asked by Megyn Kelly are legitimate and are not only deserving of answers they must be answered. Division is only increased when the legitimate concerns of people are ignored and treated as if they do not matter. Concern is a two way street, however some apparently fail to acknowledge this simple fact.

  1. Given the national attention that her killing has garnered, it would seem prudent that the White House address the issue. Avoiding the question just puts a brighter spotlight on them. Perhaps they are betting on the short attention span of the American people.

    1. Perhaps they are betting on the short attention span Jerry. Foolish if that be the case.

Of course the issue goes much deeper than the loss of one young beautiful white woman shot to death by a deported 5 times illegal alien.

It is a symbol of America's failed policy on immigration; one which both parties bear responsibility.

But this singular death has now become a symbol of whay MANY perceive is Obama's attitude toward whites. Likely untrue but Obama's failure to show proper respect publicly on this is fueling the perception he us a divisive president that cares only for people of color.

It was, simply put a mistake.

  2. Obama would be smart to avoid this sensationalism completely. He doesn't have to bet on attention spans or anything like that. He doesn't owe anyone any answers, especially the likes of the silly bimbos on FOX News with their silly "news."

    1. Well Jersey; you are technically correct. He does not have to do a GD thing. As president he certainly does not have to share the emotions most feel over this senseless and preventable murder of a beautiful innocent WHITE women by a Mexican thug and ILLEGAL alien. As president on high he owes nothing. I get it.

BTW, your characterizing Megan Kelly, an educated women and attorney as a silly bimbo is OFFENSIVE as well as childish. It puts you on poo ar wuth Rusty Shackleford, Radical Redneck, FreeThinke, and others of their ilk on the conservative boards.

Further your remark stands squarely on callousness and nothing else.

    2. Les, we just see this very differently. Megyn Kelly is the very worst sort of Jaundiced Journalist. I'll give her some kudos for the way she schooled Karl Rove back during the 2012 elections, so for that I'll give her a quarter-star for a grand total of one quarter of a star, and that's it.

The reasons the President should avoid this is that it is beneath him to engage in this sort of sleazy hate-mongering and he is certainly not to blame. This one murder is terribly sad, but it's not his fault or the fault of any policy of his, period. Anyone who thinks otherwise is blithely ignorant of the subject.

    3. Yep, we do see it differently Jersey. It's okay to hate and kill if you're brown and illegal. If you're while and this disgusts you your are a racist and a bigot.

Yeah Jersey we do see it differently.

    4. I didn't see Jersey making any such separation, Les...

    5. Les, I never meant to say that! All I'm saying is this not something the President should get involved with. As well, illegal immigrants commit less crime than US citizens. And while it may be true this one crime may have been avoidable, no one can blame Obama for our immigration mess.

  3. I actually agree with Jersey's response. The President is not a Great Father or Dear Leader upon whom we must wait for word from on high on all issues so we know what we should think.

....Until Jersey got very sexist at the end, as RN pointed out. And as always the Left seems hypocritical when it comes to "nooz": embracing the noozsters on its own side, who do the same thing as Fox with the only difference that they do so for left/Democratic causes. It's an intellectual failing to be rah-rah or a "fan" of nooz from either Fox or MSNBC.

    2. There's nothing sexist about what I said about that little shrew. She obviously uses her sex appeal to her advantage, so if I mock her for it, well, she opened the door. Sleazy FOX News BIMBO.

    3. Oh, you mean like Obama uses his rock star appeal. Now I get it.

      You're too much Jersey.

And calling an educated, intelligent, and articulate woman a bimbo is in fact sexist.

    4. I completely agree with you on the last part, Les. What Jersey did was no different than calling Obama one of the disparaging terms for African-American found on the following page:

      https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ethnic_slurs

It is possible to criticize Kelly without going over the line.

Besides, the issue is much more whether or not the President needs to address this issue than whatever personal problem Jersey has with the reporter's gender.

    5. Les, that woman is a psychopath. I'm sorry that eludes you. And calling out that bimbo parade on FOX does not make me sexist. It means my IQ is higher than my libido.

  4. Not sure what the president could say, given that the drug-addled persistent immigrant picked up a
gun belonging to some federal agent, the local sheriff and Homeland Security arguing over whose fault he was loose. It is one of a number of sad cases, 341 deaths by firearms since the beginning of July. -including a five year old girl that lived next to a young girl that is a 'Little Sister' to my daughter
in Topeka. We may suppose it is a legitimate question, rather than just more poking at the administration, but my question to Megan is should the president explain each of the 341 people
gunned down? Should he address guns? NRA? Should he explain that we have constructed a
free-fire zone in the entire country? Or should we blame old flags and immigrants?

    1. He must show leadership. Which means all of the above.

In addition he must show compassion, this was a high profile incident, use it as a healing teaching opportunity.

      Illegal immigration must be addressed
and an effective method and monitoring and control must be put in place.

BTW, none of those agencies or the firearm she stole killed the young women. He did when he pulled the trigger. He has no respect for human life. He gave up his right to his.

But not to worry. Obama will soon be gone and thing will continue on as they always do.

Jerry is right. Americans have a short attention span.

    2. "Should he explain that we have constructed a
free-fire zone in the entire country?"

I don't think he can, BB. As such "free firing" behavior violates numerous laws everywhere you go in this country, I don't agree that we have constructed a "free fire zone".

      ----------

Les, if he addresses this, he could also address the countless incidents of violent felons let out early who end up killing or assaulting others. The violent crimes committed by native born Americans exceed those committed by immigrants. There are failures of the criminal justice system at many levels.

  5. BB-Idaho: “my question to Megan is should the president explain each of the 341 people gunned down [since the beginning of July]?

A perfectly reasonable question that goes to the center of this controversy -- one that should be looked at in terms of context and subtext.

The context and subtext of this case is the Devil’s handiwork. A bellicose and narcissistic personality (Donald Trump) announces his candidacy for president. In his announcement speech, he gratuitously maligns and mischaracterizes an entire ethnic group as would-be criminals and rapists. Understandably, Mexican-Americans are outraged by Trump’s remark. Within a matter of days, there is a murder in SF; the victim is a young woman; and the accused is a five-times-deported fugitive. The Panderer-for-President receives a windfall of incendiary talking points, and his poll numbers rise. Hence, the Devil’s handiwork!

In the context and subtext of this murder, the actions of Megyn Kelly and Fox News were less than honorable -- their ignoble purpose being to further inflame public opinion along partisan lines and enable a Panderer-for-President. IOW, Megyn Kelly and Fox appear determined to repurpose this story into something else.

A random crime is not a hate crime; and a random crime should never serve as justification for inflammatory hate speech. Yet, appealing to a lynch-mob mentality appears to be the goal of Donald Trump, Megyn Kelly and Fox News. To his credit, President Obama refused to let himself fall sucker to this kind of vicious demagoguery.

  6. I think the President has done enough demagoguery... the Henry Louis Gates Jr flap comes to mind. The less demagogue'ing, the better.

    1. No, it wasn't. Not at all. I think what we have here is a failure to see right and wrong, and facts. Obama and Gates happened to be personal friends in the first place, and Obama's remarks were extemporaneous, and really just plain right. The police state fans didn't like it, but I'm surprised to see any libertarian agreeing with them on this. Maybe you could say it looked like demagoguery after all that happened - the whole "beer summit" thing - but if kicking back, having a beer and a conciliatory conversation is demagoguery, than the world needs a whole lot more of it! But it's not.

What FOX and their Beauty Queen Bimbo Parade is doing with stories like this and others is demagoguery. Period.

Suffice to say I have zero patience
with this BS at this time. Your continued triteness has become offensive.

    3. Jersey said:

"Obama and Gates happened to be personal friends in the first place"

That makes it even worse. That not only would Obama be "demagoguing it up", but he would be doing so to help out one of his cronies. That is, pardon the expression, piss-poor Presidential leadership. Not good for a leader of all the nation. To justify this, Jersey, would imply you think that is is OK that a President use his power to bend the executive branch to help one of his buddies. And it is also an admission that this whole "beer summit" matter had nothing to do with any issue of national importance (as it would not have happened if Dr Gates wasn't one of his buddies). It was all personal. Like something a mafia godfather would do.

It's kind of off topic, divergent, yes, But Jersey, your defense of Obama made him look much worse. You'd best follow such examples as (O)ct's comment at "Sun Jul 12, 07:45:00 AM EDT". He expressed very strong opinions, and scourged FOX, and did so without bashing Kelley for her gender. It is possible, and it's not that hard, really.

Les, I hope your father is OK... Your having made a more recent post seems like you are back in the blog swing (the less important things) so maybe...?

  8. In the aftermath of one of the most despicable hate crimes since the civil rights era, we don’t need another ethnic group turned into a ritual scapegoat to arouse the wrath of angry lynch mobs. This kind of rabble-rousing behavior is the essence of pandering and demagoguery.

Red meat politics has always been standard operating procedure for Donald Trump; and Fox News has always had the temerity to regard itself as the tail that wags the dog. Too bad this point about incendiary rhetoric was trivialized by a snide, off-topic and falsely equivalent non sequitur.

In brief response to the above; there are those of us who can cut through the hyperbolic emotionally charged BS and recognize truth in as well as falsehoods expressed in both views. Many cannot or else simply refuse to look.

We have an f'ing problem with immigration and both conservatives and liberals bear responsibility.

Now, I turn my attention and time to more pressing and IMPORTANT matters

  11. I'm with Jersey on this. I wasn't offened by any "continued triteness" as I saw none. And there was zero "demagoguing" in regards to the Henry Gates situation. Obama is our first African American president, and that he say something on a situation that has something to do with race relations is entirely appropriate. Obama was arbitrating or acting as a peacemaker (the opposite of demagoguing).

As for "embracing the noozsters on its own side", I say this is impossible, since there are none. dmarks' refers to pundits giving their opinions... as opposed to pundits working for an organization that offers opinion but has the word "news" in it's title.
