A Women Shouldn't Be President; According to the Bible...

From out of Texas, complete with a biblical reference. Why should this surprise anyone? Thump, thump, thump...

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – “A female shouldn’t be President,” is a direct quote from a Dallas woman’s Facebook page.

As you might imagine, the post has attracted quite a bit of attention from people across the country.

CBS 11’s Steve Pickett caught up with Cheryl Rios, the CEO of Go Ape Marketing, and asked her to explain the comment.

“I believe in what I said,” she told Pickett. “There’s an old biblical sound reasoning why a woman shouldn’t be President.”  (emphasis mine)

Here’s the full text of her post:

“If this happens – I am moving to Canada. There is NO need for her as she is not the right person to run our country – but more importantly a female shouldn’t be president. Let the haters begin . . . but with the hormones we have there is no way we should be able to start a war. Yes I run my own business and I love it and I am great at it BUT that is not the same as being the President, that should be left to a man, a good, strong, honorable man.”

  1. I remember when Alec Baldwin was going to move out of the US if Bush was elected. He didn't keep his word and neither will she.

Everyone has an opinion and she just shared hers. Somehow putting a lot of faith in someone who is the CEO of go ape marketing is almost laughable.

She then goes on that the presidency should go to an honorable man. What honorable man would run for a political office much less the presidency. She really needs to wake up and realize that he most powerful position in the world is occupied by a women and not Valarie Jarrett.

  2. Everybody may be entitled to an opinion, but it doesn’t mean everyone is entitled to their own private set of facts.

Where in the Bible is this specially stated: “No woman shall be elected President of the United States on account of her hormones” ???

Lev. 25:44 states that I may possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Why can't I own a Canadian?

Lev 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I admit to wearing glasses for reading. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room here?

According to Lev 1:9, burning a bull as a sacrifice creates a pleasing odor for the Lord. The problem is my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?

Scud, if you are like most men, you probably go to a barber to have your hair trimmed, including the hair around your temples - even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev 19:27. How would you prefer to die?

  3. Lots of odd opinions out there, as well as biblical interpretations. I haven't been able to find the biblical text regarding hormones, unless it is hidden in Deuteronomy somewhere (or hormones weren't discovered yet in 550 BC) However, I DID look up Go Ape Mktg, where we learn "Our focus is to gain media attention about your business" which the CEO certainly did for hers. Presumably
Margaret Thatcher, Golda Meir, Indira Ghandi and Angela Merkel were not customers....

What you fail to acknowledge is that women rule the world no matter what men happen to think.
I am all for a women president, can't do any worse then the men have done, just not hillary. I do realize that she is the democrat appointed one and you have no choice in who to vote for but some may wake up.
How about Rubio, he could be the first Hispanic president and, unlike hillary, came from the middle class.

Apparently, you have little or no self-awareness of your bad manners. Arrogant and condescending, you do not come here in the spirit of friendship and camaraderie. You avail yourself of every opportunity to grind an axe, advance a partisan agenda, and proselytize. Every comment of yours is a taunt, as evidenced by your unwillingness to follow even standard conventions of capitalization. When you wear your bias on your shirtsleeve, it compromises your credibility. Since you started it …

      Marco Rubio is strictly ‘paleo.’
      Ted Cruz will surely lose.
Governor Walker is a Koch sucker.

  5. Legs,

I haven't found a candidate from either party that deserves my vote. It has been decades since I have had an opportunity to vote for a candidate and not against their opponent. I hope next year will allow a chance to vote for someone instead of against someone.

BTW, what partisan agenda did I grind in the first or second post. If you are referring to women ruling the world, if you don't agree you must not be married.

    2. Recalling the first AIDS awareness ads that appeared on network TV in the mid 1980s:

A dark and stormy sky with threatening clouds. The clouds part. A bouquet of roses falls from the sky and comes to rest upon a gravestone. Caption: “AIDS – don’t die of ignorance!

Undaunted and unfazed, our fearless scudrunner, who thinks modern medicine is some liberal-commie plot, goes about his business picking up dates from the wrong side of the family tree … until one day … “Drip, drip, OMG!” He rushes off to see the doctor. Weeks later, his follow-up visit:

Doc: “Lookie here, boy! I’ve got some good news and some bad news.”

Scud: “Ahem … the good news first?

      Doc: “You don’t have AIDS.

  7. Legs has issues with me and I get that but I still stand by my, I didn't offend in either posts.
I will further admit that I am a conservative, wouldn't call that reactionary. I am an independent voter although over the last few campaigns differ with the free stuff to buy a vote attitude of the democrats. I happen to work hard for the money I earn and get a little miffed at being called greedy for wanting to keep some of it.

  8. Six-fingered scud: "I happen to work hard for the money I earn and get a little miffed at being called greedy for wanting to keep some of it."

Aww schucks! Of the many words exchanged between us over time, I have called you many things. Intellectually dishonest, yes! Ignorant, yes! A neo-Confederate revisionist of history, yes! A self-serving liar, yes! An off-topic troll, yes! Greedy? I challenge you to go fetch an example.

It appears your only real talent is the non sequitur, the irrelevant comment, the feint and dodge, your contrivances and taunts, and disconnected logic - always playing the factitious victim card.

A crude and artless bore you are.

  9. And legs I thought we had worked all this out, I am really hurt. I have never played the victim card because I have never considered myself a victim. If I screw up. I did it not someone else. You should try it, it is liberating to accept personal responsibility.
Following on you same note, I have never insulted you but then I am a Southern Gentleman.
Remember that there are those who were born in Texas and those that wished they were, all else is just jealousy.

I like the six-fingered scud moniker but I think I will just stay with skudrunner, you know what that is don't you?

    1. Scud,
RN, Dmarks, and I have known each other far longer than we know you. In case you haven’t noticed, we are not always on the same page of a partisan issue. There were times when we had heated debates and exchanged harsh comments. What changed?

Demonizing and stereotyping people on the basis of partisan identity robs you of an ability to see fellow citizens as real people with real concerns. Constant derision, carping and harping, innuendo, deceptions, and distractions … what do these accomplish? If your purpose is to deliberately annoy and antagonize people, congratulations!

What you fail to fathom is that former adversaries can also become the best of friends, and friends do not taunt and annoy each other as you have annoyed us – with off topic comments (bad manners), and calling constant attention to your own private agenda. In this regard, you have no claim in calling yourself a Southern gentleman.

When former adversaries become the best of friends, they gain far more than you demonstrated here. In additional to the mutual respect than comes with a shared recognition of humanity, one also finds common ground. In case you haven’t noticed, RN, Dmarks, and I share common concerns. Many of our opinions have converged because we took the time to listen and learn from each other. In this regard, you neither read nor listen nor learn nor follow any thread under discussion. You conduct yourself as a narrow-minded, one-track troll.

Scud: “You should try it, it is liberating to accept personal responsibility.

Here is an example of a condescending remark that serves only one purpose – to antagonize. What you fail to fathom is that most of us – liberals, conservatives and libertarians alike – are hard-working citizens who pay our taxes, raise our children, take care for our elderly and infirmed, and keep our affairs in order when our time runs out. For my part, I earned an Ivy League education, worked hard and paid my dues, and raised three kids – one of whom works as a top security, senior level official at the Pentagon.

Coming from you, “personal responsibility” is an empty claim.
