Schlafly Believes Obama Intentionally Allowing People Infected With Ebola Into the USA...

“Obama doesn’t want America to believe that we’re exceptional. He wants us to be just like everybody else, and if Africa is suffering from Ebola, we ought to join the group and be suffering from it, too. That’s his attitude.”

Above quote by Phyllis Schlafly. Have the followers of conservative politics really sunk this low? Or is this just the blathering of one old person locked into the paradigms of her lifetime? We hope she represents a steadily declining minority.

  1. I don't think the vast majority of conservatives pay any attention to Schlafly, but it makes me wonder why you would publicize such drivel.

    1. I published it because I today is drivel Friday at RN USA.

      That and see below.

    2. Jerry: I hope your opinion is true.

Anyway, this conservative doesn't believe Obama hates America, and he would truly have to, in order to do this.

  2. Do you deny that Obama IS intentionally letting illegal immigrant kids into the country with the DEADLY Entero D68 Virus and then mainstreaming these possibly infected kids into US schoolrooms around the country w/o any quarantine whatsoever?

Do you deny that Obama IS sending US military personnel into infected regions for the sole purpose of pursuing non-military missions? Shouldn't he be sending USPHS and CDC personnel, instead?

    1. I deny it. Not sure about Les "Rational Nation" or Jerry, but I have a safe guess.

  3. 1) I agree there are likely some children with Entero D68 virus that have been admitted. The 1 death to date I am aware of is tragic. The child was fine at bedtime and he died in his sleep. Does the president have a crystal ball? Do you? BTW, how many deaths occur in the USA every year from the influenza or other viruses?

    2) Nope, I'm not deny the factual statement he sent military personnel (3,000 I believe) into West Africa. I agree it would make sense to have sent USPHS and CDC personnel. I would be interested in hearing the Presidents rationale for his choice of personnel. I'll have to do some digging.

  4. Phyllis Schlafly are FJ (above) are merely vapid trolls.

About the deployment of 3,000 troops to West Africa, I can offer a little insight on that one. The subject is a bone of contention in my family since my oldest daughter is a high ranking officer in the military. My youngest daughter is dead set against the deployment, and there is no talking to her about it.

From what I know, these troops will NOT be in a caregiving role. Thus, there will be little to no exposure to the virus. Their mission is to build and stock treatment facilities. Think of them as the equivalent of the Army Corps of Engineers.

Is the mission justified? Yes, in my opinion. The World Health Organization estimates the number of cases, at the current rate of transmission, to exceed 1.4 million by mid January 2015. Compared with the terrorist threat of Daesh (ISIS or ISIL), this kind of outbreak is far deadlier than terrorism and on par with the infamous Black Plague that decimated Europe.

You can't build walls around America to keep it out. Sooner or later, global trade and air travel will bring ebola to all continents. So it must be contained now ... by all means necessary.

    1. Where is the Peace Corps? If they are too incompetent to handle non-military emergencies, then they should be defunded.

  5. Thank you for your insightful comment (O)CT(O)PUS. I suspected that the military was designated to use as you point out. Personally I have zero problem with that.

I read the report indicating the possible transmission rate if not contained, a frightening reality awaits the world if wiser and calmer heads do not prevail. Taking the lead in this effort is IMO acting in our nation's long term rational self interest. As well as acting in a humanitarian manner.

Loud mouthed jack asses (like El Rushbo Limbaugh) having no responsibility and driven only by short sighted political agendas .ought to gag themselves and spare us their diarrhea.
