New Jersey's Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno is pushing back hard against allegations by Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer. The Lieutenant Governor is calling the Mayor's allegations false and illogical.

As this "scandal" heats up, and it most certainly will, Rational Nation USA will continue to provide pertinent updates as they come in. It is apparent, given Governor Christie's potential 2016 presidential challenge to what appears will be the shoo in democratic nominee Hillary Rodham Clinton that  this "scandal will continue well into 2015 as the Obama justice department delves deeper into what is really limited to the New Jersey New York geographical area. 1. Seems to make for good soap opera: she said/she said. It would seem that the Sandy aid history
of how much and when might clear it up, barring any more texting or cellphone records. Heck, remember the good old days when 8 minutes of missing tape......?

  2. Yep, certainly recall the missing 8 minutes...

Politics are indeed becoming one big soap opera in general.

But America loves it. Our two major parties are the "New Gladiators."

There is some hope. In your recent post about the prospect of a show pitting Ann Coulter against a certain abusive thug, wasn't pretty much everyone (not just Octo) giving some proper rational skepticism and disdain? Well, everyone except one person who can usually be expected to respond on an emotional surface level.

  3. No chance of a Christie nom for prez any longer according to Howard Dean on MSNBC last night (cue the Dean bashers).

  4. Howard Dean? Now there's a real authority. Yes indeed.

    1. BYEEAAAHHHH! Which isn't any less worthwhile than anything else he has said. And even less embarrassing to him than the time he said he hated half of America.

Still, it is amusing when a politician noted for his cold reptilian heart actual sound like he really is.

    2. And if anyone calls me a Dean basher, I am referring to his own words (both his beast bellow, and system of hate in plain English)....His own "words"...which bashed him more than any critic could.

  5. Yeah, Dean certainly showed his true self when he went into his bellowing rage that resulted in his campaign meltdown.

I bet the progressive statist could teach Christie quite a bit about "bullying."

  7. Quite a spectacle, wasn't it RN? It's as if Dean had chosen that moment to shed a few million years of human evolution. What came out of his mouth might have given a sabre tooth tiger pause as he shook a spear at it in dim prehistory, It had the same effect on voters in today's rational, civilized world.

It would take a real kool-aid drinking True Believer to spin this as anything other than it was. Even the Left rejected him....

    1. Call me a Kool-Aid drinker; despite the "Dean Scream", I recall that in his two terms as Vermont governor,
" He bucked many in his own party to immediately push for a balanced budget, an act which marked the beginning of a record of fiscal restraint. During his tenure as governor, the state paid off much of its debt, balanced its budget eleven times, raised its bond rating, and lowered income taxes twice." A pragmatic fellow, criticized as a 'Rockefeller Republican' for
his liberal social vies and conservative fiscal views, dare we suggest libertarian? He served as DNC chairman, engineered the 'small donor' internet system and the Dems took both houses. I like him despite the scream (us married guys are used to that) and guess I'll
pour me some more Kool-Aid. :)

    2. That's a pretty good defense, BB. Perhaps he evolved into the careless gaffer (his scream is such a careless gaffe that while Bush and Kerry were re-created by comedians in the Jib-Jab video, all they had to do was quote Dean directly). It is certainly no moderate who would say he hated Republicans (roughly half of the country). He wouldn't be the only one who devolved into a cartoon. Compare John McCain 2000 to the one later in 2008.

    3. And here are some more recent, and much more extreme, statements by Howard Dean, in which he opposes the people making any healthcare decisions... arguing that this privilege is for the few leaders in Washington to make decisions for and force on everyone. Definitely an extreme view, definitely a step toward statist fascism, of might makes right and crush the little guy. This was hardly reported on, as Dean's bestial behavior and increasingly fringe views have marginalized him.

    4. The 'Libertarian Repbublic' quote we should take in context; the editor, Austin Peterson having been active at both Judge Napolitano's show and Freedom Works, so we expect a
bit of liberartian slant. Mr. Peterson is a graduate in Fine Arts and Media. Howard Dean is an MD, so no question they come at the healthcare problem from different POVs.

    5. BB: That is why the scary statement from Dean is much more important than the assessment by the libertarians on that site found near it.

  8. Dennis: ...in which he opposes the people making any healthcare decisions.

Utter nonsense. I looked at your link, and Dean is saying people need a minimum standard of coverage. Who establishes minimum standards? The government. Dennis wants to crush the little guy by allowing their employers to provide sub par coverage. With this baloney about enthusiasm equating to "bestial behavior" Dennis has made it clear that he drinks the kool-aid. He guzzles it in large quantities.

    1. The liar perfectly summarizes his entire paragraph in the first two lines "Utter nonsense"

As it is addressed to someone he is quoting who is not even in the blog, it's not worth while reading the rest.

BYEAAHHHHHHH, all you Howard Dean fans. BYEAAAHHHHH.

    2. Subpar coverage (and where is it written that an employer HAS to provide health insurance to his employees?) meaning that women with hysterectomies have to purchase maternity care and Mormons alcohol and drug rehabilitation.
