Radical Islam, a Growing Worldwide Threat or Simply More Hype? You Be the Judge...

Following is the text of an email that recently found it's way to the inbox of Rational Nation USA. After reading this many times over several days I finally determined to publish it.

While many will disagree with the points made by Dr. Tanya, many others will agree. Certainly at the very least they are worth considering. History often repeats itself becaue good people decide to do nothing in the face of a growing threat of evil.

A German's View on Islam:

This is by far the best explanation of the Muslim terrorist situation I have ever read. His references to past history are accurate and clear. Not long, and easy to understand. The author of this is Dr. Emanuel Tanya, a well-known and respected psychiatrist. A man whose family was German aristocracy prior to World War II. His family owned a number of large industries, as well as estates.

When asked how many German people were true Nazis, the answer he gave can guide our attitude toward fanaticism.

'Very few people were true Nazis,' he said, 'but many enjoyed the return of German pride, and many more were too busy to care. I was one of those who just thought the Nazis were a bunch of fools. So, the majority just sat back and let it all happen. Then, before we knew it, they owned us, and we had lost control, and the end of the world had come. My family lost everything. I ended up in a concentration camp and the Allies destroyed my factories.’

We are told again and again by 'experts' and 'talking heads' that Islam is the religion of peace and that the vast majority of Muslims just want to live in peace. Although this unqualified assertion may be true, it is entirely irrelevant. It is meaningless fluff, meant to make us feel better, and meant to somehow diminish the spectre of fanatics rampaging across the globe in the name of Islam.

The fact is that the fanatics rule Islam at this moment in history. It is the fanatics who march. It is the fanatics who wage any one of 50 shooting wars worldwide. It is the fanatics who systematically slaughter Christian or tribal groups throughout Africa and are gradually taking over the entire continent in an Islamic wave. It is the fanatics who bomb, behead, murder, or honour-kill. It is the fanatics who take over mosque after mosque. It is the fanatics who zealously spread the stoning and hanging of rape victims and homosexuals. It is the fanatics who teach their young to kill and to become suicide bombers.

The hard, quantifiable fact is that the peaceful majority, the 'silent majority,' is cowed and extraneous. Communist Russia was comprised of Russians who just wanted to live in peace, yet the Russian Communists were responsible for the murder of about 20 million people. The peaceful majority were irrelevant. China's huge population was peaceful as well, but Chinese Communists managed to kill a staggering 70 million people.

The average Japanese individual prior to World War II was not a warmongering sadist. Yet, Japan murdered and slaughtered its way across South East Asia in an orgy of killing that included the systematic murder of 12 million Chinese civilians; most killed by sword, shovel, and bayonet. And who can forget Rwanda, which collapsed into butchery. Could it not be said that the majority of Rwandans were 'peace loving'?

History lessons are often incredibly simple and blunt, yet for all our powers of reason, we often miss the most basic and uncomplicated of points: peace-loving Muslims have been made irrelevant by their silence. Peace-loving Muslims will become our enemy if they don't speak up, because like my friend from Germany, they will awaken one day and find that the fanatics own them, and the end of their world will have begun.

Peace-loving Germans, Japanese, Chinese, Russians, Rwandans, Serbs, Afghans, Iraqis, Palestinians, Somalis, Nigerians, Algerians, and many others have died because the peaceful majority did not speak up until it was too late.

Now Islamic prayers have been introduced into Toronto and other public schools in Ontario, and, yes, in Ottawa too while the Lord's Prayer was removed (due to being so offensive?) The Islamic way may be peaceful for the time being in our country until the fanatics move in.

In Australia, and indeed in many countries around the world, many of the most commonly consumed food items have the halal emblem on them. Just look at the back of some of the most popular chocolate bars, and at other food items in your local supermarket. Food on aircraft has the halal emblem, just to appease the privileged minority who are now rapidly expanding within the nation’s shores.

In the U.K, the Muslim communities refuse to integrate and there are now dozens of “no-go” zones within major cities across the country that the police force dare not intrude upon. Sharia law prevails there, because the
Muslim community in those areas refuses to acknowledge British law.

As for us who watch it all unfold, we must pay attention to the only group that counts -- the fanatics who threaten our way of life.

The solution to this potentially very real threat will not be easily found. Even if it is the implementation will likely face extreme resistance. In the name of political correctness.

In reality the west has themselves to blame for this threat. It has been in the making for several decades. But nobody wanted to recognize or discuss it. The reasons should be self evident.

Consider the future...

  1. "We are told again and again by 'experts' and 'talking heads' that Islam is the religion of peace..."

The people who are pushing that line are generally the hard right xenophobes who piss themselves when they see a Muslim. It's a cliche.

Halal food?Anyone here ever objected to kosher foods? I love a good deli sandwich. Same thing as halal. Another non issue from a bigoted clown.

There are no-go zones in London? Sounds like Brixton in the day.

This guy's a clown. I know peace loving Muslims and they are simply not my enemy. Can't say the same for a bigoted butt nugget like "Dr. (LMAO) Tanya".

    1. As expected. I know many good Muslims as well. Your point is?

Ignore the existence of the threat, deny the evidence.

Something about heads in the sand.

Extremism runs both ways Ducky old man. Both are dangerous

You might fit one. I merely put the message out there. Each can decide for themselves.

Will there be a worldwide modern "Holy .War"... I wonder?

      Sleep well Ducky old chap.

    2. Les: Good points. Ducky here and elsewhere with such knee-jerk objections seems to imply that there are only peace-loving Muslims, and as such there are no (his word) "scary" ones.

It is like when someone talks of extremist Christians like Eric Rudolph and then someone objects missusing the word "xenophobe" and says all Christians are like Martin Luther King Jr.

  2. ... by the way, it's Emanuel Tanay.

  3. I wish they wouldn't call it "Radical Islam." It says so little. It's really just an epithet, like "f'n Christianity." Unless you're referring to one of the many popular surfing imams.

Militant Theocratic Muslims are the problem here. It says all you need to know, and only two of those things are all you need for a problem. Militant Theocratic anyone is a pain in the ass.

It's not like muslims invented Militant Theocracy. Some just happen to be very aggressive about it these days. The Christians have been no better when given the chance. Militant Theocracy has always been a combination of hellishness and counter-productivity no matter when or where or among whom.

    That said...

America faces no foreseeable existential threat from Islam. Period.

    All religions are annoying.

We've been dealing with this forever, we can work it out.

We can engage in pointless finger-pointing, ("Radical Islam," "f'n Christianity"), or we can work it out. I've lived and worked among people of countless cultures, and got along just fine. It's not that hard.

  5. What climate change? Hasn't been any warming for 15 years. Maybe the progressive overlords will use global cooling again to scare the dimwitted...

Now, onto Islam. Unlike Christianity, where a cornucopia of art, music and literature has been blooming for two millinea, it is a threat to liberal society.

Yeah, it had a few unchained moments since Mo founded it, but overall, it has strangled every society it infested.

Need proof? Which way are people migrating?

  6. Islam is kinda like Fundies on steroids with a violent streak.

For clarity, talking extremists here. Not the peaceful Muslims that respect the rights of others and their religion.

Open for discussion. For the Anon troll(s), this doesn't mean you.

  7. Jersey: you did misunderstand.... we are using the term "radical Islam" to mean a specific subset of that faith, not as meaning all Islam, but with a pejorative adjective in front of it.

Just like I also distinguish hardline/extreme Atheists from others of that fath. A subset that has been perhaps the deadliest of all, but their ideology is mixed with that of rather toxic ideology, socialism. And they are often (and correctly) identified by that instead.

    4. Jersey, you would do well to study Nazism and Christianity. The Wikipedia page on the religion of Nazism is a good place to start.

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religious_aspects_of_Nazism

Here is one quotation you will find educational:

      "Nazism and Christianity

After Nazi Germany had surrendered in World War II, the U.S. Office of Strategic Services published a report on the Nazi Master Plan of the Persecution of the Christian Churches.[16] The discussion among historians and theologians about religion in Nazi Germany often came to similar results. For Kathleen Harvill Burton,[17] there was a religious objective in National Socialism: make traditional Christianity disappear, and transform it into positive Christianity, based on Nazi mysticism as preached by Alfred Rosenberg. In particular the Bible had to be purged of all its Jewish content (i.e., the entire Old Testament, the Gospel of Matthew, and the Pauline Epistles). This was continuous with Paul Lagarde's research on a Germanised and "de-judaized" Christianism.[18] According to Rosenberg:[19]

      Saint Paul was responsible for the destruction of the racial values from Greek and Roman culture;
      the dogma of hell advanced in the Middle Ages destroyed the free Nordic spirit;
      original sin and grace are Oriental ideas that corrupt the purity and strength of Nordic blood;
      the Old Testament and the Jewish race are not an exception and one should return to the Nordic peoples' fables and legends;
Jesus was not Jewish, but had Nordic blood from his Amorite ancestors."

It is quite clear that it was not Christian, but it wanted to replace Christianity with something new that had Nazi specific deities shoehorned in.

    Authoritarian government

    Laissez-faire Kapitalism

    Climate change

    Scary Muslims

We'll be able to look back and see which one(s) should have had our complete attention. Heck, we can look back at the founding and the original Tea Party which was a rebellion against globalization. We ignored that and we're paying a price in wealth concentration.
But look over there, scary Muslims.

I will simply restate my invitation to look at Christian societies from the time of Mo to now, and Islamic ones.

Which ones produced more art, literature, music, philosophy and just generally beneficial things to all of mankind?

Where would you rather live now? Are people migrating into the Islamic world, or out of it?

Where are women, minorities, gays, lesbians, safer?

Islam and classical liberalism don't mix.

    1. Precisely Silver. You know I am a non believer in any religion, however it is clear that Christianity is heads and shoulders above Islam with respect to philosophy, liberty, art, culture, tolerance (at least in the last century plus),.

There are many good decent and intelligent Muslims, I have personally know many. The issue is the FACT that the religion of Islam drives the extremists that act as sub human in response to all beliefs that are not theirs. Violence in the name of forced acceptance of Muhammad and Allah (on his terms) is honorable in their eyes and worldwide domination is the goal of Islam and the extremists who freely use violence.

    2. We are in "radical" agreement, Les.

Christianity has had its shameful moments, as all movements, religions, and societies do, but it has proven itself to be tolerant and self-correcting. Our liberal democracies were built upon the foundation of Christianity.

I too have had, and have now, Muslim friends. I have never cast aspersions against all Muslims, and have always been very circumspect and specific in my criticisms.

There's a poisonous presence in the umma, and I pray Islam can spew it out and right itself.

    3. RN said: "I have personally know many. The issue is the FACT that the religion of Islam drives the extremists that act as sub human in response to all beliefs that are not theirs."

Good points. In Christianity, at this point in history, occasionally an Eric Rudolph comes about. In Islam, at this point in history, you have many hundreds of thousands of Eric Rudolphs screaming in large crowds calling the the murder of every single American and Jewish man, woman, and child.... and also taking up arms to bring about their Final Solution.

Ducky sure is being odd when he denies that there is such a thing as a "scary Muslim". And his idea that anyone should watch "laisses faire capitalism" as a future threat is odd indeed. It exists no where, anywhere, and is not on the horizon.

  13. The original tea party was a rebellion against the economic abuse that goes along with being used as a colony.

And then we read Jersey's nonsense, and we see the futility of trying to debate leftwing wackadoos who watch Morons Spouting Nothing But Crap and take it for gospel. And the ironic icing on the cake is that they criticize 'faux news' and its viewers in the same breath.

    1. It is indeed unfortunate that influencing opinion and thereby political party ideology has become so much a part of news broadcasting.

FOX, like MSNBC as well as others have made it commonplace.

    2. Silver: The opposition to so-called "globalism" is nothing more than a knee-jerk reaction by those who tend toward forms of fascism and other such appeals to the divine right of authoritarian government. They are disturbed and shaken by the idea that individuals can control their own economic decisions without ignorant, distant megalomaniac ruling elites saying things like "No, you can't buy a Hyundai automobile" and enforcing their personal preferences through abuse of their power.

Silver continued: " And the ironic icing on the cake is that they criticize 'faux news' and its viewers in the same breath."

These people want all news organizations to be left-wing, and get all bent out of shape when 1 out out of a total 5 or 6 of the total major national news outlets isn't left wing. Heresy! Censor it now!

Actually, it always was. National news is a lot more wide open and less concentrated now, but back when there were just 3 on, the Uncle Walters and the like had strong political biases. Remember, it was CBS News, not Fox OR MSNBC, that tried so hard to sell a story that a President went AWOL in the 1970s knowingly used forged documents from years later as the evidence/proof.

They were just better getting away with their bias back then. It was commonplace then. If anything is different now. at least Maddow and Hannity are more honest about admitting their flat-out bias.

  15. 99% of Afghans and 89% of Palestinians polled stated that they agreed with Sharia Law (and the numbers - from Pew Research - in other Muslim countries were pretty high, too). It seems to me that we are definitely dealing (American and Canadian Muslims obviously excepted) with more than a fringe at this juncture (Ducky's protestations notwithstanding).............On the German issue, I recommend a great book by Daniel Jonah Goldhagen called "Hitler's Willing Executioners". It underscores the fact that anti-Semitism had been fully rampant throughout Germany well before Hitler and that it was a natural match between the ruler and his people.

    1. Will: Also, in regards to Germany, socialism usually makes things far worse. If you look at the different forms of socialism, the majority of them are strongly antisemitic. I suppose this is because Jewish people, who tend (supposedly compared to some others) seem to work hard and are successful for it. These others are as a lot jealous and greedy and see their way to success by stealing the work of others.

The modern vilification of productive people, even those who are lowly "mom and pop" store merchants as "plutocrats" is closely akin to the demonizing of Jewish people which is a common streak among socialism.

And the "Occupy Movement", America's biggest socialist upsurge in recent years, is America's brownshirts. They demand, as the German socialists did in the 1930s (and as all socialists do) a stronger more authoritarian government to put people down. And it is no surprise that the Occupy Movement had an antisemitic streak, for reasons that are easily understood if you look at the rise of socialism in Germany in the 1930s and elsewhere. And it is no surprise that the American Nazi Party embraced" the Occupy Movement: the Nazis are easily able to pick out fellow-travelers, who seek to demonize and crush people and push for the goal of a much stronger authoritarian government.

    2. Well stated Will.

dmarks, for clarification - Socialism is a term covering a broad spectrum. German socialism of the 1930's and early 1940's (fascism/Nazism) is a far cry from democratic socialism as found in say Great Britain or Sweeden.

Socialism as a economic system is inferior to true capitalism with respect to fostering and rewarding initiative, creativity, success, and increasing the wealth of a nation.

Unfortunately American capitalism is really a hodgepodge of cronyism, pull peddlars, subsidies rewarding ineptitude, and Corporatism. Corporate welfare at the trough of Big Brother Government.

Indeed it is a strange world...

      And there is IslamoFacism...

      Delete
    3. Yes, RN, I know. The main difference is degree in regards to "democratic socialism as found in say Great Britain or Sweden."

In these countries, most of the property is still controlled by the people, and not the elites. Even if a little more is controlled than in the US. In other words, these countries avoid many of the problems of socialism by being much less socialist.

It's not so much that these milder countries are democratic. It is that they have safeguards in place to protect the people from the ravages of the rulers. Something which tends to dwindle to nothing the more socialist a place becomes.
