This women has been out of touch with reality for so long even I am beginning to feel sorry for her. Not that it will happen mind you. I'm just sayin...

HuffPo - WASHINGTON -- House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Wednesday that the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee is playing politics with its vote to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress, an action she said that even she didn't seek as House Speaker when she thought someone was legitimately deserving of it.

"I could have arrested Karl Rove on any given day," Pelosi said to laughter, during a sit-down with reporters. "I'm not kidding. There's a prison here in the Capitol ... If we had spotted him in the Capitol, we could have arrested him."

Rove was senior advisor and deputy chief of staff to former President George W. Bush from 2001 to 2007.

Asked on what grounds she could have arrested Rove, Pelosi replied, "Oh, any number. But there were some specific ones for his being in contempt of Congress. But we didn't."

Pelosi sounded off on the ordeal ahead of the committee vote.

"This is just strictly political," she said. "It's just the irresponsibility of the Republicans. We want jobs. Why are they spending this time doing this?" {Read It All}

  1. Nancy Pelosi has been a congressional representative of San Francisco, for 25 years. She has been pivotal in American domestic and foreign policy for most of those years, and far more than most of her Representative and Senate colleagues. She is obviously eminently qualified for the job. She is an excellent speaker, and a refreshing voice for the regular family coming from a place where you wouldn't think that was a major concern. Perhaps it's because she's also the matriarch of an impressively good and American family. Among her constituents are the movers and shakers of American and world society and business, as San Fran is a major world hub.

To caricature Nancy Pelosi, as the cheap-shot, right-wing, dog-whistlers do, is to belittle your own site.

    Very disappointing.

Nancy Pelosi is not an idiot, and certainly not the silly caricature of the right. She's not crazy. And she's most often not wrong. She is the consummate pragmatic politician - what we call today a "technocrat."

It's a shame that some find that to be a bad thing. Someone has know how to run government functions!

    Nancy Pelosi does.

Once again, I see you libertarians and Objectivists arguing against yourselves when you fall for this hyper-partisan nonsense about Nancy Pelosi. Worse yet, it sounds misguidedly misogynistic: In other words, wrong about being wrong. She's not your enemy in any way. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised to find she was an Objectivist herself!

But worst of all - Would you guys REALLY take a chance to vote for ANOTHER one-party state in 2012??? ANOTHER???

I just don't understand why you would do that. You should be showing Pelosi's good sides right now more than ever. And she does have many for you guys.

  2. Oh I really hope you publish that! I know at parts it's harsh, but I was trying to make a serious point there. Remember Pelosi represents San Francisco - do you know just how many corporations are HQ'd in SF???

She's not nearly the caricature of the cheap-stream right.

Really, you should read more about her life. She's a TECHNOCRAT. If you want to hit her on that, then fine. We'd probably agree a lot there. But don't fall for this silly righty caricature nonsense.

  3. "She is obviously eminently qualified for the job."

How so? Other than she is blithely ignorant of her own stupidity.

She is ignorant of the constitution as well as the beliefs of her own church. The latter isn't a crime, but it does show that she lives in a fantasy world.

And I'm glad Jersey brought up corporations. SF's list of corporations is paltry, 0nly two fortune 500 companies, and the list of corporations that have left is formidable. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_companies_based_in_San_Francisco

California is bleeding out businesses and productive people, and their progressive, statist policies are to blame.

A good example, San Fran Nan and her liberal millionaire bourgeoisie claim to love the poor, but their zoning rules and other policies have driven the working poor from the city. See also Boulder Colorado.

Liberal statism hurts the very people they cynically claim to care about.

    1. They love the "poor" because the "poor" keep them in power so small tidbits keep getting tossed their way.

Could never understand why they don't get the connection and the manipulative politics that are being played with them.

  4. Les,
You do need to show Pelosi's good side is you can find it. She is right at the top of the elite element of congress. Made millions trading on insider information, gave special tax breaks to one of her husbands businesses. She is part of the privileged ruling members congress who spends your money for her own enjoyment.

She is worth over 50 million and is the typical limousine liberal. Say the "rich" don't pay enough taxes and need to drive electric cars while she takes he limo to her private jet and goes to a 10k a plate fundraiser. This whole stinking scheme of Holders needs investigation. BHO said he has not seen any of the documentation and knows nothing about Fast and Furious yet he applies executive privilege which guards the president from investigation of things he has knowledge of. His lies are starting to catch up and soon they are going to move his book to the fiction isle.
