It is quite obvious the end is near for Representative Ron Paul and his valiant run to restore liberty in America by winning the Presidency of the United States. Even though his valiant and patriotic effort will not propel him to the general election his Revolution will continue. Ron Paul has inspired the young as well as the old. Individuals who love liberty and understand the need to return to constitutional governance will carry on the fight!.

Philadelphia (CNN) – Ahead of Tuesday's Pennsylvania primary, presidential hopeful Ron Paul painted his long-shot campaign as a new American revolution at a rain-soaked event outside Independence Hall.
“In our early history, we had a major undertaking overthrowing an empire,” Paul said. “And in some ways that is what we are doing now.”
Paul’s supporters call his campaign the “Ron Paul Revolution,” and they turned out in a steady, hard rain outside the hall where the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were debated and adopted.
They stood with umbrellas drawn and ponchos on, even as the sound of rain smacking on the tents in the park made it difficult for people to hear the candidate.
“It is obvious that we need to change our foreign policy because of the cost,” Paul said. “Our foreign policy is a schizophrenic foreign policy – it is on again off again."
Though the Texas congressman finds himself behind former Gov. Mitt Romney and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, according to the CNN delegate count, he consistently raises large sums of money. In the first quarter of 2012, the Paul campaign said they raised nearly $10.4 million, with nearly $2.6 million coming in March alone.
At the end of the speech, Paul handicapped the presidential race.
“When you run, you run to win. I have won elections 12 times, and that puts a stamp of approval and what we are doing,” Paul said. “We do know that the continuation of the spirit of liberty will persist no matter what, and that is what really counts (emphasis mine).”

I think Paul will stay in the race right up to the convention. It's all been about delegate count and influence at the convention for some time now. It's also about setting up Rand for a potential run in 2016.
ReplyDeleteYou also can't believe the LSM's delegate counts because the Paul campaign has been working hard within the state delegations to amass delegates beyond what the mediots are portraying.
I know he will stay in. He's got hundreds of delegates and very few will report it. Tampa is going to freak the the mainstream media AND the GOP Establishment out. Surely by this time they HAVE to see their strategy isn't working. In FACT it's costing them their audience who have grown sick and tired of the blatant propaganda.
ReplyDeleteNobody's going to "freak." Romney will win the nomination, but libertarianism is gaining mainstream credence and that's what is important. A new generation is coming up.
ReplyDeleteI don't think Paul's idea to punish American citizens for certain minor crimes of their parents is very libertarian at all. He really needs to bag his opposition to the 14th Amendment.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Silver. We do see a rising libertarianism in America. One way to look at this is the Tea Party movement, a sort of last gasp of the old white, Christian, conservative guard in America. With the country changing into a less white, less religious people, old style conservativism should fade and be replaced with a more modern libertarianism. This is not so much "classical liberalism" or Objectivism, but really a reflection of smaller families producing fewer kids, and those kids are therefore more insular and individualistic. They want what they want for themselves and feel they do not owe society anything. I do not expect this to become the mainstream of American political thought any time in the foreseeable future, but really, no such thought exists anyway, and that's probably for the better.

I voted for Ron Paul for President, over 20 years ago. He never had a chance to win then, he never had a chance to win this year. I never listened to people like Michael Medved who chastised me for voting for the "loosertarian" candidate, and stealing votes from the Republican candidate. Paul should have run as an independent.
ReplyDeleteAll sorts of ideas get put in the public arena; it's the American people who decide. Paul, like TR, Rand, Mondale and many others, had the opportunity to convince Americans, but Americans rejected their ideas. I cannot claim he did not have a fair shot at the nomination.I will have to live with the choices Americans have made - Obama/Romney. Unfortunately, their kind of ideas will not be able to solve the current problems we have today. "The right man, for the right time", we do not have, but that takes nothing away from Paul's ideas.
In the past, candidates who lost the nomination, still had an effect on the party platform and ideology. I hope the Republicans embrace some of Paul's good ideas.
Mr. Paul's principled opposition to the MIC was and continues to be inspiring. Here's to hoping that it eventually makes a dent in the establishment's majorly pig-headed foreign policy of late.
