Mr. MIC Senator John (RHINO) McCain Calls for Airstrikes on Syria...

Rational Nation USA
Liberty -vs- Tyranny

Sen. John (Rhino) McCain

Again the Republican pro MIC statist establishment power base calls for intervention, and thereby entry into the affairs that are of no concern of the United States or it's people. Yet McCain, and individuals like him will once again ask Americans to place their hard earned dollars in support of a cause that carries no rational self interest for our nation. Other than to further extend our influence in area's in which it is most unwelcome.

Like the self appointed idiots of the past McCain is asking the people of this nation to become involved in something they have ABSOLUTELY no business even giving a second thought to. Of course the cost of such involvement to the American people will not be discussed until after the fact. As is customary. For those who crave power and influence this is however of little or no consequence.

For the statist there shall always be the gullible general populace to deceive and ultimately pass the cost of their evil ways on to. Such has been the course of history {civilization} for time immemorial. Why expect it should change now? Right?

From FP...

Later today, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), the ranking Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee, will become the first U.S. senator to publicly call for U.S. led air strikes to halt the violence and atrocities being committed by the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

"After a year of bloodshed, the crisis in Syria has reached a decisive moment," McCain will say Monday afternoon in a speech on the Senate floor, according to excerpts obtained in advance by The Cable.

"What opposition groups in Syria need most urgently is relief from Assad's tank and artillery sieges in many cities that are still contested. Homs is lost for now, but Idlib, and Hama, and Qusayr, and Deraa, and other cities in Syria could still be saved," McCain will say. "But time is running out. Assad's forces are on the march. Providing military assistance to the Free Syrian Army and other opposition groups is necessary, but at this late hour, that alone will not be sufficient to stop the slaughter and save innocent lives. The only realistic way to do so is with foreign airpower."

The Obama administration's stance thus far has been to clearly communicate that international military intervention is not on the table in Syria. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has said that the United States is willing to provide humanitarian assistance in Syria immediately... but only if Assad agrees to provide access to affected areas.

McCain, referring directly to the requests for more direct assistance from the Syrian National Council, the Free Syrian Army, and Local Coordinating Committees inside Syria, will call for the United States to lead an international effort to protect civilian population centers in northern Syria through airstrikes on Assad's forces.

"To be clear: This will require the United States to suppress enemy air defenses in at least part of the country," McCain will say. "The ultimate goal of airstrikes should be to establish and defend safe havens in Syria, especially in the north, in which opposition forces can organize and plan their political and military activities against Assad. These safe havens could serve as platforms for the delivery of humanitarian and military assistance -- including weapons and ammunition, body armor and other personal protective equipment, tactical intelligence, secure communications equipment, food and water, and medical supplies. These safe havens could also help the Free Syrian Army and other armed groups in Syria to train and organize themselves into more cohesive and effective military forces, likely with the assistance of foreign partners." {Read More}

This RHINO has the audacity to call himself a limited government conservative? He lost his "maverick status" long ago. Along with any credibility he may have enjoyed at one time.

It is time for all Americans with a modicum of integrity and self respect to stand up and denounce McCain and his idiocy. Enough of American dollars and bloodshed in the name of influence and power already. There exists absolutely NO RATIONAL SELF INTEREST, or justification for the United States of America to intervene in Syrian national politics and governance.

  1. al Assad is an absolute piece of filth and IF we could antiseptically take him out we probably should. The questions obviously are a) can we and b) who in the hell would replace him (our experience in the Middle East is that the rebels often turn out to be worse than the statists). Yeah, you're probably right, Les.

    1. He is certainly what you say he is. But again, he is not our piece of filth to exterminate. It is the place of the Syrians to exterminate him.

Yet we continue. In the process usually compounding our problems.

Think America's "rational self interests." Based on sound ethical philosophy.

    1. Yes isn't it. Such it has been for years.

Rand said... the only justification for the use of force against a people or nation is in response to an act of aggression. But what did Rand know. Right ANON?
