The Shortest Post Ever

Rational Nation USA
Liberty -vs- Tyranny

Throw in the towel. America has seen its better days. Of course this statement has absolutely zero, Nada, zip to do with Obama, Romney, Paul, or Santorum. A few hapless politicians cannot make or break a nation. Not one founded on the principles of a democratic republic anyway.

It has everything to do with the hyper partisans supporting both the democrat and republican leadership, their agenda, and their monied backers. Of course neither partisan camp will admit it has anything to do with their ideologies. Nope, nothing to do with power and control. I have a bridge to sell anyone who believe the last statement. Did I forget to mention hyper-partisan bloggers of  both political ideologies?

Ignorance is bliss. Whether it be the ignorance of knowledge or the lack of  principles. One is just as bad as the other. The beat goes on.

  2. There's plenty of cheese left. The holes are just increasing in number.

It's really more a matter if there is enough time... Don't you think?

  3. I've said before, it was the beginning of the end when the planes hit the towers, not that it was a crippling blow to the nation, in the least. It was simply a matter that if something like that could even happen, we as a people have so lost our edge that we can never hope to regain our backbone and intelligence.

  4. What happens to the hole? Progressives tax it at a higher rate to make up for the lost revenue on all the cheese their politicians stole.

  5. Hey! I hosted a debate on Ron Paul yesterday, but none of the bloggers that support him showed up...

  7. "What happens to the hole? Progressives tax it at a higher rate to make up for the lost revenue on all the cheese their politicians stole."

Perfect example of why we're in a hole. Never admit your political party had any culpability for our nation's economic mess; always blame the other guy.

This link explains it a bit better than the tired old "Progressives tax it," and shows that repeating such nonsense doesn't make it true.

Les, I can't imbed the link in your comments section, because when I do so, the comment gets tossed in your spam folder. Don't know why this happens to your blog, but it does.

Here is the hard link from PolitiFact, a site disliked by liberals, conservatives, and libertarians, so it must be doing its job.

Copy and paste it in your browser:

  8. RN,
Perhaps I meant to quote Brecht in the spirit of Zen, as in: "What is the sound of one hand clapping?" Or in the spirit of the allegory about the Buddhist monk and the scorpion.

In any history of human suffering, the lion's share of the story would be devoted to chicanery and corruption.

In an ideal world, reasonable people do not approve of lying, cheating and stealing. Yet, liars, cheats and crooks employ lying, cheating and stealing to conceal their misdeeds - while trying to convince others that they are good guys. The challenge is to ascertain truth from subterfuge, and the innocent from the guilty.

In the real world, things are not all black or white as in the above example. There are always shades of grey, and very few people in life are either saints and sinners (although they think there are). This is the realm of politics, and perhaps it is best approached with a Zen-like attitude.

  9. The hyper partisans, at least on the right have a small ability to set talking points Les. But the real movers are the ones with the resources to hijack government. The big bankers and energy companies. The Chamber of Commerce which is funded through dues paid by companies.

The left has it's lawyers and others but it's funded by the corporates as well.

The hyper partisans are dupes on the right as when it's all said and done, they will vote for whomever gets the republican nomination.

The left is weakened since it's hyper partisans, or hyper lefties I should say, won't blindly vote for whomever the democrats pick.

I don't know if this adds anything Les. But I felt like saying it.
