The Fringes... A Threat To The American Way Of Life

Liberty -vs- Tyranny

When contemplating the major political parties in the United States, both democrat and republican, one need consider there are fringe elements in both. People who make up small minorities and who do not represent the views of the great majority of the American people. They are however a threat to our political and socioeconomic systems as well as our American culture and way of life. In this sense they present a danger as they are often well organized and well financed.

While perusing the net late Saturday night for some interesting news items, of which there were few, the following jumped out at me. Emphasis in the following excerpt is mine.
"I don't know who I'm going to vote for yet because there doesn't seem to be too many people on the horizon, but I will vote for someone whether it's a Green candidate, whether it's a communist, I don't care... Croteau said.

This individual {and there are many like her} either is totally unaware of the history of world Communism, doesn't care, or actually supports the tenets of collectivism. A central government managed economy as well as a political and social system that is contrary to every American principle.

These fringe, or extreme elements spend their time and money working within the system to gradually, and almost without notice, change the system to achieve their political and social ends. The Communist Party of the United States is precisely that kind of organization.

Read the full text of the article that jumped off the page at me here.

This opinion is unquestionably one sided. It grows late and I am tired. Perhaps the flip side will make the pages of this site soon.

The take away folks is really... Beware of the fringe/extreme elements within both major parties. It is for certain they do not have our nation or it's people's rational self interest in mind.

In two words, it's about Power and Control.

Good night, and may a dose of rational thought soon descend upon Washington.

  1. What a pathetic post. If you are going to discuss the evils of extremism, extreme views that are "They are however a threat to our political and socioeconomic systems as well as our American culture and way of life. In this sense they present a danger as they are often well organized and well financed."

Then why not focus on one that actually has elected representatives in government? Like the Tea Party?

Why focus on one that is neither well organized or well financed? The communist party is neither nor does it even attempt to move outside of the entrentched cave it finds its self in.

Again, by pointing to a bogeyman to make a point, a bogeyman that has not been a threat to this country in over 60 years, a threat that exists on fumes in only three countries in the world, you are pulling a "reichstag fire"

By pointing to something else you are hiding the true threat to American life and tradition and that would be the Tea Party, which is well funded and very organized.

What a pathetic comment TAO! The takeaway is, well, your one that will never get it.

  3. Its a little hard to see the point of someone with the inconsequcial Green Party making a comment about a non existent communist party when we have a party inside the government attempting to bring it down...

When the commies get as much air time as the Tea Party and as much funding as the Tea Party then I might...until then I will focus on immediate threats and leave the bogeymen to you....

  4. >When the commies get as much air time as the Tea Party and as much funding as the Tea Party then I might

Comrade Obama already has the mainscream media and trillions of dollars of our money. He may not be a communist per se, but everything he does is perfectly in line with their stated (and very explicitly stated) agenda. Whatever label they go by, totalitarian collectivists are totalitarian collectivists.

  5. Totalitarian collectivists differs from totalitarian tyranny how?

"Whatever label they go by" well, that would be "Tea Party" right now...so your "THEY" has now been defined for you...now go after and attack them!

  6. Ah TAO, you did not read the entire article. The lady is {was} an Obama supporter. Note:

"Protester Mary Ellen Croteau, 61, of Chicago said she's even ready to find someone else to support if Obama cuts Medicare and Social Security."

    Your dad my progressive nemesis!

She is an individual {and there are many like her} the inconsequential Green Party, and the Communist Party of the United States are targeting. And they are targeting.

It is my premise that the Green Party and the Communist Party are one in the same. Also they are using well educated people like yourself to dupe les educated people into believing the crap they spew is actually Pro capitalist and pro American.

Your BS, misrepresentations, misinformation, and out right lies with respect to the Tea Party in fact confirms you, as Micheal Savage so aptly states it, one of the enemy within.

  7. @TAO,

I didn't realize the TEA Party was such a threat to liberalism. Fascinating. And strangely satisfying to see you rant on and on about them. Now I know they are making a true impact.

Shoulda said nothing, TAO. Your fear illuminates our strengths.

    ReplyDelete
  8. No, you miss the point...the tea party is a threat to DEMOCRACY!

Liberalism rotted from within and you were no threat to them....you are a threat to everything this country stands for...

    ReplyDelete
  9. When will you understand TAO that democracy in its dictionary form is a fancy word for tyranny of the majority? Or put another way... a recipe for anarchy.

Perhaps that is why individuals with intellects far exceeding yours gave us a republic... To lose of our own doing. As Benjamin Franklin no doubt feared we are doing just that.

With the help of individuals that place their full faith in the government over the individual to determine their life course. Individuals like yourself.

  10. @Tao,

I don't believe in a democracy. I'm one of those freakshow religious guys who believes in a Theocracy.

However, the TEA Party, with their lower taxes, accountability for Congress, and limited government makes sense to me. Libertarian makes sense to me. Independent Conservatism makes sense to me.

Liberalism, or whatever it is you label yourself with, does not interest me in the slightest. Liberalism has given us racial baiting, abortion on demand, political correctness, specters of misogyny and racism behind every tree, limits on Free Speech, taxes to support and fund anti-American organizations, and more whine than a festival in Napa Valley.

I should hardly consider the TEA Party, (oh those elderly people in their Brooks Brothers clothing!), as a threat to you. They are demanding fiscal accountability. Oh my! So unpatriotic and evil!

  11. "Theocracy is a form of government in which a state is understood as governed by immediate divine guidance especially a state ruled by clergy, or by officials who are regarded as divinely guided."

That is what you believe in...then you go on and claim something totally opposite...which is exactly why I pay no attention to you and your kind.

You want to destroy democracy and establish a tyranny....that is exactly what the Tea Party is all about and you acknowledged it.

At least I will respect your honesty. Oh, and by the way, I am not a liberal....

  12. The evils of extremism? Makes me think of Van Jones. Shaw at Progressive Erupts is actually a fan of his. He's an extremist in every sense of the word, being a Maoist. You know, the worst extreme socialist movement which demands killing large percentages of the population in order to bring about social change.

He was too extreme for Obama, but many mainstream liberals curiously embrace him.

"It is my premise that the Green Party and the Communist Party are one in the same."

Actually, the Greens have moved strongly in the direction of National Socialism (a far-right movement). They ran for President last time a woman whose main angle on things is to blame Jews for all the problems. A woman who actively and passionately supports the Muslim terrorists. A white Swastika on a green background should be their emblem.

Actually, the USSR fell in 1989. Before that, it was a major threat to the US, with its main foreign policy goal being our destruction.

That's just 22 years ago. Perhaps your 60 years thing is a typo??

  14. >"Totalitarian collectivists differs from totalitarian tyranny how?"

The former is more specific, and is a subset of the more general latter. I'm fine answering such basic questions, but try to stay on task.

    >"Whatever label they go by" well, that would be "Tea Party" right now

The "Tea Party" that functions on a basic platform of making government less oppressive is totalitarian collectivist (or totalitarian in any form whatsoever)? What wacky world do you have to be living in to view a staunch opposition to heavy government intervention in our lives and efforts to preserve your inherent right to your life, your liberty, and your property as tyranny? Either you are the epitome of intellectual sloth or lacking in any integrity whatsoever. Although, based on your track record of posting, I would be compelled to give serious consideration to "C. All of the above."

    ReplyDelete
  15. And finally Tao said: "By pointing to something else you are hiding the true threat to American life and tradition and that would be the Tea Party, which is well funded and very organized."

Only a little bit of this is true. Some of it is very well funded.

Organized? Not at all. It's the least organized major political movement in a long time.

Threat to life and tradition? Actually, it seeks to protect life and tradition, especially as put forth in the law of the land (our controlling authority, really) the United States Constitution.

  17. >National Socialism (a far-right movement)

That's a popular myth. Popular, but myth nonetheless. Nazism is merely another form of totalitarian collectivism (like communism). Hitler and Stalin didn't fight because their ideologies were incompatible. They fought because they wanted the same thing, and neither wanted to give up control of it.

  18. Bastia said: "That's a popular myth. Popular, but myth nonetheless."

I actually agree with you, pretty much. I know very well that National Socialism (Nazism) not only is completely one of the branches of socialism, it is one of the major ones. And the big dispute between Hitler and Stalin was more like a lovers' quarrel than a battle of opposing ideologies.

However, I will use the term "far right" for Nazi ideology. Knowing that "Far right" has a specific meaning (as opposed to how the Left uses it for mainstream individuals such as Rush Limbaugh), and that the "far right" is indeed quite similar to the "far left" in ways. And that the "far left" is quite often as genocidally racist as the "far right". If not more so.

  19. @TAO,

For the sake of clarification, allow me to...clarify. My beliefs are rooted in Kingdom principles, meaning the Kingdom of my Father, who is God.

I completely understand the dangers of theocracy as defined by men. My goodness, who in their right mind would want that!? Yikes!

No, sir, my version of theocracy is knowing that my God is Sovereign over all. I am not, in any fashion, seeking to convert, coerce, or scare people into believing in the Jesus Christ I worship. I surely do not think He ever wanted to be President, either.

Politics is man's affair. Government and the governance of men by men is also man's affair. I simply observe and take notes. Les has been so kind as to allow me to frequent here, and I have honored his religious beliefs by NOT ever seeking to preach Jesus this or Jesus that.

My theocracy is my Father's Kingdom. Yet I can still care about how men treat one another in the form of government.

Sorry for the confusion, TAO. I should have clarified!

    Sincerely, Donald in Bethel, CT
