POLITCO -The “Lord of the Rings” metaphors crept into the debt-limit fight on Thursday, as tea-party heroes fired back at Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) who mocked members of the conservative grassroots movement as “tea-party hobbits.”

“I’d rather be a hobbit than a troll,” freshman Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) said on a conference call when asked by POLITICO about McCain’s remarks. “I think in reading the books, the hobbits were the heroes. They overcame great obstacles, and I think I’d rather be a hobbit than a troll.” {Continue Reading}

    I think the Lord of the Rings analogies are appropriate. This is a battle over The Ring: absolute power. Good people like Rand Paul want to destroy it, and Harry and the Pelosicrats crave it a believe they can wield its power without becoming corrupt.

    Everybody wants to rule the world. Senator McCain had a good chunk of power not long ago but lost it. He sees the tea party people controlling his party and he lashes out.

    McCain has a history of "walking back" Will. I never forgave him for not busting Bush in the mouth after the smears the Bush supporters leveled at him in 2000.

The good news is unemployment fell to a four year low, certainly at year six in Obama's Presidential tenure strikes a positive note. Or does it? At the same time the number of people employed part time rose as well as strong indications are showing the Affordable Care Act (ACA aka ObamaCare) will have a long term negative impact on the USA economy. The following is an interesting analysis and one that certainly has some credibility. AEI - US job growth in April beat economist expectations as nonfarm payrolls rose 165,000, and the jobless rate fell to a four-year low of 7.5%. Well I just did, and as near as I can figure she must be Woodrow Wilson's or Franklin Delano Roosevelt's Mother.
