Another Sign Of Irrationality From The United Nations

By: Les Carpenter III
Rational Nation USA

The United Nations, in it's irrational and perverted sense of  right, just elected Iran to the U.N.'s Commission on the Status of Woman.

Without fanfare or explanation the body that continues to prove itself worthless (IMO) awarded a four year seat to the the Islamic Republic of Iran. A state that denies women basic human rights, and in fact enshrines stoning a d lashings in law. The gruesome picture above is one of an Iranian women who has been abused and without any means to defend herself. But the United Nations apparently finds it sensible to reward a nation with a horrendous record on womens rights with a seat on this council.

The professed purpose of the Commission on the Status of Women is dedication to gender equality and advancement of women. Perhaps the U.N. views the denial of basic human rights to woman, combined with physical abuse to be an "advancement." This body has no shame apparently.

What is most startling is Iran was elected by acclamation. This means that no open vote was requested or required by any member state. That includes the United States. Hmm... could it be that in an effort to Pander to the Islamic Republic the POTUS gave the word to be silent.? I find it interesting that just after leading the effort to keep Iran off  The Human Rights Council  the U.S. was silent on this. Makes me wonder.

Critics of Iran's human rights record have stated that Iran has systematically taken "every conceivable step" to deny women's equality."

A quote from Reuters;

"In the past year, it has arrested and jailed mothers of peaceful civil rights protests." It has charged women who were seeking equality in the social sphere --as wives, daughters, and mothers --  with threatening national security, subjecting them to hours of harrowing interrogation. It's prison guards have beaten, tortured, sexually assaulted and raped female and male civil rights protesters."

What this nation, and the rest of the nations that think of womens rights rationally ought to do is stand and condemn in unison Iran's human and civil rights violations. Not reward them with a seat on The Commission on the Status of Women.

Gateway Pundit and Weasel Zippers  weigh in on this travesty.

Immigration Insecurity -- A Discussion

By: Les Carpenter III
Rational Nation USA

Rational Nation USA's post yesterday discussing Arizona Senate Bill 1070, which is a) specifically concerned with controlling and stopping the influx of illegal aliens, b) has nothing in it that is unreasonable or unlawful, and c) is not racist... was an attempt to move beyond emotionalism and political pandering that is becoming so evident.

The following video, a discussion with Hannity, Malkin, and Hernandez points up the disagreements between  those who support  rational thought and rule of law as opposed to the emotionalism and race baiting of the progressive left, and quite frankly the POTUS.

Now that you have viewed the video take a moment to read what an individual had to say to Michelle Malkin in a letter addressed to her via e-mail. A person who readily admits to knowing or hearing nothing about Michelle until today. Click on the link here  to this e-mail.

And so I ask you this... who are the REAL racists?

Also for those who just might be interested in reading what the author of Senate Bill 1070 Kris Kobach has to say you can read it here

Arizona Immigration Law - Senate Bill 1070

By: Les Carpenter III
Rational Nation USA

Arizona's new immigration bill recently signed into law by Governor Jan Brewer certainly has created a firestorm.

Politicians from both the progressive and conservative sides of the political spectrum seem to be at least in partial agreement, that the bill is ill advised.

Of course with all the media attention being given to this what is really a rather mild law, (more on this later) and Obama criticizing Arizona legislatures for doing something to control their huge illegal immigration problem , something the Feds have neglected for years with a wink and a nod, I decided to do a little research. In a matter of a few minutes, after a Google search,  I had the  full text printed out to review.

I was moved to look at the Arizona law after visiting the typical off the wall emotional driven leftist blogs to see what truth there may be in the allegations of that the law would turn the state into a Nazis right wing fascist camp of racists. Not surprisingly I found nothing to lead one to believe the outrageous claims some of the really wacko progressive blogs are making.

First before discussing the highlights of what I believe pertinent in the bill a few links to articles addressing the issue...  followed by a couple personal observations. Feel free to take issue with them and comment.

The Government's Justice Department it appears is lining up behind a challenge to the new law, read more on this here. The President has weighed in on the matter with his usual rhetorical flair, here. And the ones you might expect most likely to support tougher immigration laws in border states seem to be a bit tepid as well. Read what Governor Jeb Bush and Karl Rove have to say on the issue.

I have always found it funny that everyone professes to want secure borders and effective immigration control. Yet in the final analysis nothing has been done by either side to craft a successful plan to accomplish the stated   desire. In my opinion this is because no one has really wanted to solve the problem. These are the simple reasons, and as always they are political and economic.

1) The progressives in government have intentionally failed to act because they see illegals as a political base they can exploit to insure the perpetuation of their ideology of larger government and the socialist welfare state. They realize that by waiting and allowing the illegal population to grow eventually they could push for amnesty and secure a huge new voting base.  It's easy to entice people with little by promising them everything. At the same time most see it as a sure means to insure their own reelection.

2) On the other side we have the various businesses that benefit by the use of cheap labor that helps keep costs down and profits up. Not only is the labor cheap the business need not worry about any benefits as the illegal wanting to remain in the States isn't going to say much about the poor wages and lack of benefits.

The progressive in government and the republicans in government along with business sector are both responsible for our current situation. Both have damaged our economy and created a serious problem for reasons of their own gain. Irrationality by supposedly rational and sane people.

Now to highlights Arizona's Senate Bill 1070.

1) The new law is designed to enforce federal immigration laws throughout Arizona through cooperative efforts of state and local agencies.

2) When there is reasonable suspicion a person may be in the U.S.A. unlawfully a reasonable attempt shall be made to determine the persons immigration status. Such verification of the persons status will be determined by the Federal Government pursuant to 8 United States Code Section 1373(c).

3) If  a person is found to be unlawfully in the United States and is convicted of a state or local law they will be transfered immediately into the custody of the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement or the United States Customs and  Border Protection.

4) Law enforcement agencies may transfer an alien who is in the state illegally by secure transport to any federal facility in Arizona or any other point of transfer into federal custody.

5) A law enforcement officer, without a warrant, can arrest a person who they believe their is probable cause has committed a public offense that makes the person removable from the U.S.A.

6) Except as prohibited by federal law officials and agencies can not be prohibited from sending, receiving, or maintaining information that is relevant to the immigration stratus of any individual. Or giving such information to any other federal, state, or local government for the following purposes;

a) Determining eligibility for public benefits...
b) Verifying claim of residence or domicile...
c) Confirming the identity of the detained person...
d) If the person is an alien to determine if they are in compliance with the federal laws prescribed by Title II, Chapter 7 of the Federal Immigration and Nationality Act.

The law is a sixteen page bill and details specific legal procedures with respect to the individual as well as the penalties businesses will face should they be found to be hiring illegal immigrants.

What the law essentially does is give law enforcement the right to detain individuals where there is a reasonable suspicion, or probable cause. As I read the bill federal law would apply in all cases where an individual was found to be in the country illegally. And the illegal would be transfered to federal immigration authorities.

One authority I listened to on a local radio broadcast interprets the law as such that if there was no crime committed and the local court authorities took not further action with a person that could not produce papers authorities would merely contact federal immigration officials and ask them to do their job.

For those who may want to pour over the entire bill and analyse it further for themselves you will find it here.

In conclusion, The Arizona State Senate, and subsequently Governor Jan Brewer acted in a manner expedient and in the best interests of the legal residence of their state as well as the United States of America. As I have said all along, I am in complete agreement with a tough hard nosed federal law with teeth. However the feds have had many chances and ample time to get control of the situation and haven't. It leads me at least to question if they ever will.

Alan Keyes Tells It Like It Is

By: Les Carpenter III
Rational Nation USA

Perhaps Alan Keyes and Ron Paul ought to consider teaming up. Both are independent and not slaves to party loyalties.

I know it won't happen, but one can hope and dream. Breaking the mold, and stranglehold  of the modern progressive/socialist/statist plan for America is the only real answer to solving our problems.

Neither of the  major parties, nor their power bases are concerned about We The People. Alan Keyes has it just right when he says throw the bums out.

The American taxpayers and voters must vote in 2010 to replace the current batch of special interest bought and paid for politicians with real Americans.

And now, more reasoned words from another America Patriot in an open letter to the President.

Independent Conservatism And The Opposition To Modern Progressivism

By: Les Carpenter III
Rational Nation USA

I stand proud to declare my independent conservatism. I stand proud to declare the wisdom of our founding fathers. I stand proud to embrace the principals of men that have valued liberty through the generations.

I stand tall and proud in my call to oppose the elitist Leninist/Stalinist such as Chairman TAO who stand ready to destroy all that made the nation great.

Make no mistake... The Chairman has only one thing in mind. Control of your life and everything that is of value to the individual. He would have you believe that the collective good far outweighs the individual good. He believes the bureaucracy and the power of  an all intrusive government is far superior to the ability of the market to create opportunity and wealth.

In short he is a sellout to the influences of Big Brother Government. The very same that works with the  Huge Corporations to control YOUR destiny.

Chairman TAO is part of the front for the current onslaught of progressive/socialist/Leninist/Stalinist revolutionaries. Check out his sight and then as always Rational Nation USA leaves it to you, the all important individual to decide.

This nations future depends on your choice. If in doubt please read our Declaration of Independence, The United States Constitution, and selected reading of our Founding Fathers. The choices are clear.

Some Viewpoints That Actually May Make Some Sense... You Be The Judge

By: Les Carpenter III
Rational Nation USA

A collection of videos that make sense. If not in the entirety at least in part. Unlike the flaming Leninist/Stalinist left as epitomized by Chairman TAO,  Rational Nation USA's belief is in the individual and their ability to think for themselves.

America is indeed at a crossroads. The choices we make today will determine the reality of tomorrow for future generations as well as this generation in the near future.

As a true independent conservative I have no desire other than to see the individual, and the individual states of this nation retain their own unique identity. Funny thing... in my ignorance as the Chairman is so quickly to point out, this sounds an awful a lot like Jeffersonian principals.

The rancor that the Chairman has cultivated aside, I hope the following gives thought to those with open minds... unlike the Chairman.

Chairman TAO's vision. I leave it to you, the reader to decide:

The Truth The Government (And Corporate Banking) Doesn't Want You To Know

By: Les Carpenter III
Rational Nation USA

I found this video hard hitting. Packed with information that should scare everyone who values their individualism and liberty.

Presented  for your consideration. Not new stuff, just stuff that makes sense to an independent conservative.

What side do you believe the current administration is really on?

The Views Of An Independent Conservative... Or At Least As I See It

By: Les Carpenter III
Rational Nation USA

I ask first that you indulge me and read the following manifesto... It is perhaps not as inclusive at it should be as it was written almost a year ago when Rational Nation USA was born and first became a voice for the conservative cause in America.

I stand by the principals enumerated in my Conservative Manifesto and make no apologies to the likes of Chairman TAO who has for the last several weeks maligned my positions and those of all Americans that understand we have serious problems but know that a larger government is not the solution.

The Chairman, IMO, believes the government with the greatest degree of powers to control the individual is the best for a society as a whole. Rational Nation USA, and likely all other conservatives, Libertarians, and true Independents that value liberty will simply disagree.

I am certainly not an expert in these things, I simply know what is right. At least for me and the true conservative movement. After reading Rational Nation USA's manifesto, and visiting Chairman TAO's site, I as always encourage my readership to make their own independent decisions.

The Conservative Manifesto of Rational Nation USA:

1) Limited government with authority granted to it as enumerated in our Constitution

2) A true free market economy, that is to say, laissez-faire capitalism

3) A judiciary (Supreme Court) that interprets law from a strict constructionist view rather than legislating from the bench.

4) A legislative branch that recognizes their responsibility is to the people and not their own corrupt political interests

5) A government that recognizes the rights of the individual always, and by necessity exceeds the rights of any collective

6) A government that views its mandate to tax the citizenry as limited to funding the proper role of government, not every flavor of social program that happens to come along

7) A government that recognizes the value of borders, language, and culture and insures we do not lose ours through multiculturalism

8) A government that recognizes the only appropriate use of deadly force is in the defense of our borders and our people

9) A government that protects the rights of everyone to free thought and speech, not just those that agree with the government

10) A government that insures it's citizens are protected from crimes against their person or property, and when necessary administers proper and effective punishment

Wow... doesn't this sound like some right wing kook?

Moving along... The purpose of this post is to consider solutions to our current economic crises. A crises that is unlikely to be resolved by the current collectivist in power. Whether they be of Demican (democrat) or Republicrat (republican) persuasion.

There are many ways this nation can resolve it's debt crises and looming insolvency. They will require slaying the dragons of large government and crony capitalism. It will also require a return to a capitalistic system that is free of government subsidies and corporate lobbyists looking for the next government favor.

Personally I am not hopeful that this will happen. You ask why? The answer is because people, and business have allowed themselves to become so dependent on Big Brother that they have forgotten how to survive without Big Brother.

Nonetheless there are some realistic proposals from a true conservative that will never see the light of day. Unless American's that understand and value true independence and liberty act, and act soon.

Congressman Ron Paul (R-TX) is a conservative with strong Libertarian leanings. His chosen profession before becoming a congressman was medicine. As well as practicing medicine he became knowledgeable in Austrian Economics. You can also read more on this economic theory at Ludwig von Mises Institute.

Not being a "trained economist" I wish not to lead a discussion that those more "trained" than myself are better able to lead. I have read a bit, and have thought a few thing through for my self. Of course everything I view as rational is "colored" by the experience of having had to manage my individual and family finances without the help of Big Brother government.

I guess because of this delusional reality I arrived at the conclusion I could best decide for myself and thereby accept the consequences of my derisions. Both bad and good. Thanks Dad and Grand Dad for teaching me a few things about life. In you honor I have endeavored to carry on the tradition.

I have digressed, but I wished to make the point that my Grand Dad was a blue collar worker who survived the great depression and managed to take care of his family without Big Brother government. In fact he refused any government help. My father was a successful white collar manager who eventually became a successful general Manager and later Vice President. The interesting thing is they both taught me the same values and they both loved the principals this country stands for.

This country is facing serious financial problems. The solutions are complex. But unless we as individual citizens educate ourselves and take action and support candidates that have ideas that will work not much will change.

Here are a few simple ideas that will allow America to "pay down" the debt without raising taxes on individuals and businesses and put a strangle hold on them.

1) End foreign aid to countries across the globe. Use the billions saved to take care of our own and pay down the debt.

2) End the The Military Industrial Complex's ever growing interest in self perpetuating itself.

3) Rethink our foreign policy that has in effect been interventionist since the end of WW II. It has gone well beyond any rational perspective. Unless that perspective is to portray U.S. global power and empire building. The billions saved could be used to pay down our debt.

4) End the nanny state has we know it. Instill the sense of self reliance that existed prior to the nanny state mentality that has been gaining fashion since FDR... the result of the progressive/socialist movement started by TR. Again use the savings to pay down the countries debt.

5) Rethink the notion of too large to fail. The market is best positioned to determine which businesses out to succeed and which ought to fail. The American taxpayer simply should not be forced to prop up failing businesses, nor should they be forced to subsidize any business.

Simplistic? Perhaps it is. But sometimes the answers are simply facing us square in the face.

For a more detailed discussion (and the opportunity or information) visit the following here, and here, and here. In holding with my individualist perspective that each individual is best at deciding the course of their life I leave you with the above.

The Power Of The State

The following is a befuddling situation. I am not just sure how to approach it other than to say it has the stench of  political manipulation. Certainly something our republic has devolved into over the last few decades.

I am posting the following from the web. I take no edit as to the content or seek any personal gain from posting the content at Rational Nation USA.

Mysteriously the video on YouTube is no longer available. Could it be political forces behind the s cences had influence on the decision to pull the video?

Following is the post at Hot Air.

Congressman Jim Obertar (D-MN) wants to amend the Clean Water Act after almost 40 years by removing the word “navigable” when limiting federal jurisdiction. Stephen Hayes, Mara Liasson, Charles Krauthammer, and Bret Baier debate whether Oberstar’s measure would simply solidify current federal authority, or eliminate every last vestige of federalism and state sovereignty:

This could be an even larger threat to private property and federalism than the EPA’s decision to classify carbon dioxide as a pollutant. The original act specified “navigable” waters as the definition of the limitation for the Interstate Commerce Clause, a reasonable if somewhat still wide parameter. Eliminating that condition would put any body of water, no matter how small, under the authority of Washington — as well as the lands adjacent to it.

In Minnesota, which sends Oberstar to Congress, that would be just about every square inch of the state. Maybe his constituents need to consider that carefully before sending him back in 2011.

Rational Nation USA shall leave it to you, the readership to decide. Any and all comments are welcome.

Famous Quotes By Great Americans.

By: Les Carpenter III
Rational Nation USA

It has been a while since I have posted quotes with meaning and value. I discontinued my customary practice of doing so frankly because I was tired of being beat up by the extreme liberal left. The lies and misrepresentation by the extreme left was taking it's toll. If I am truthful I must also acknowledge there were few in the conservative ranks that were there to defend my values of independent and true conservatism. Those of you who were there I thank you.

I have decided it it is not important what a few delusional leftist commies, or right delusional fascist may think. What is important is what the truth is. For this reason I have determined to publish quotes that will, for the thinking person give pause for consideration.

To the collectivist who chose to hide behind the masses of the non thinking, such as Chairman Tao, I can only say this... Your choice of continuing to visit a site that stands for everything you are adamantly opposed to only serves to confirm the correctness of true conservative values. To you I say have a great day and please find a sight that will entertain your delusional Leninist/Stalinist rhetoric and beliefs. Rational Nation USA has not the time for you BS any longer.

Now for the the original purpose of this post.

Experience teaches us that it is much easier to prevent an enemy from posting themselves than it is to dislodge them after they have got possession. George Washington

Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master.
George Washington

I have no other view than to promote the public good, and am unambitious of honors not founded in the approbation of my Country. George Washington

A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned - this is the sum of good government. Thomas Jefferson

All, too, will bear in mind this sacred principle, that though the will of the majority is in all cases to prevail, that will to be rightful must be reasonable; that the minority possess their equal rights, which equal law must protect, and to violate would be oppression. Thomas Jefferson

Books constitute capital. A library book lasts as long as a house, for hundreds of years. It is not, then, an article of mere consumption but fairly of capital, and often in the case of professional men, setting out in life, it is their only capital. Thomas Jefferson

Achievement of your happiness is the only moral purpose of your life, and that happiness, not pain or mindless self-indulgence, is the proof of your moral integrity, since it is the proof and the result of your loyalty to the achievement of your values. Ayn Rand

Rational Nation USA, and its contributors defies anyone of rational and reasoned logic to find fault with the above statements by enlightened Americans... Chairman (the Leninist/Stalinist) TAO has criticized this site for its posting of rational and  individualistic philosophy in the past.

Rational Nation USA leaves it to you, the thinking individual, as to who is right. Chairman TAO and his Leninist/Stalinist philosophy or our Founding Fathers with their belief in the individual and that that government must be restrained to serve the people desirous of liberty and freedom the best.

Party Affiliation Gap in U.S. Narrowest Since 2005

By: Les Carpenter III
Rational Nation USA

A new Gallup poll shows that the public support the Democratic Party built during the later years of the Bush administration, and the beginnings of the Obama administration is quickly evaporating. Forty six percent of Americans self identified as Democrat or leaning Democrat while forty five percent self identified as Republican or leaning Republican.

The Democratic party has enjoyed double digit advantages during during eleven of twelve quarters spanning the second quarter of 2006 until the first quarter of 2009. At the end of last year the advantage had shrunk to just five points.

The growth in Republican support has come from the increasing numbers of Independents who now lean to the Republican Party.

To read the entire article click on the link below.

Is it any wonder the rabid left is up in arms today? They see the tide shifting in America and they are having difficulty coping with it.

Not that Rational Nation advocated the political philosophy of the entrenched Republican power structure, but it is heartening to see a shift away from a party that has recently grown more progressive/socialistic in nature. With any luck the Independents will become a growing force in the party and cause it to shape a rational and workable platform that will strengthen America rater than weaken it.

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer Signs Rational Immigration Bill

By: Les Carpenter III
Rational Nation USA

Arizona Governor, Jan Brewer, has shown political independence and strength by signing into law a tough immigration bill that is at odds with the Obama administrations position on immigration. The bill will become the law in Arizona in ninety days.

When signing the bill the governor had this to say; "Respect for the rule of law means respect for every law. People across America are watching Arizona." We in Arizona have been more than patient waiting for Washington to act. But decades of inaction and misguided policy have created a dangerous and unacceptable situation".

As the governor of a state highly impacted by illegal immigration she understands the cost to her state, and indeed the nation as a whole. Her announcement came hours following the Presidents pronouncement that the the bill is "misguided."

The bill once it becomes law will make it illegal in the state of Arizona to be in the country illegally. Migrant workers will be required to produce papers that verifies their status when asked to do so by a police officer. A article in the Arizona Republic published poll results showing seventy percent of Arizonans support the bill.

Arizona Senate Bill 1070 will be the toughest immigration law in the nation. Rather than objecting to this bill Washington, and the President should be supporting and applauding it. It is a path that will lessen the burden and cost of illegal immigration.

This bill is not racist and it's requirements are not profiling. The bill is not anti immigration... it is anti ILLEGAL immigration. This position should be one all Americans can and should support. Even civil rights and Hispanic groups benefit by this bill. Illegal immigration has negative impact on everyone in our country, including legal immigrants that took the proper path allowing them to reside and work in our country.

The Los Angeles based Mexican American Legal Defense fund  is already saying they may test the laws constitutionality. While the issue of illegal immigration should be one of national concern this bills constitutionality should be an issue for the state of Arizona to determine. It is essentially an issue of states rights.

If the federal government chooses to take the path of least resistance and political expediency then individual states across America should enact their own laws and thereby accept responsibility for the effect of those laws. Washington has for by far to long evaded the issue of illegal immigration. It appears the  current administration, and many in the "opposition" party lack the will to resolve the current problem and enforce tough measures to control lit in the future.

Kudos to Governor Jan Brewer for having the strength to take action and sign into law a bill with teeth. A bill that enforces respect for the rule of law.

It Bears Repeating... Again, and Again, and Again

By: Les Carpenter III
Rational Nation USA

Here I go again. The progressive/socialist type that visit this site occasionally will no doubt be shaking their heads, and I suspect once again will try to marginalize the content presented here.

Progressive/socialists take great pains to paint all conservatives, libertarians, and anyone who disagrees with their destructive message as lunatics. They even resort to categorizing us as criminals.

My friend and fellow conservative blogger over at  Left Coast Rebel (visit his site here) demonstrates the visceral hate that many in the progressive/socialist circles have for the more rational amongst us.

Following is just a sample of the hateful language used by the left with respect to those that dare disagree with their agenda.  LCR provided the sample via a recent commnt on one of my posts.

At the same time I will say I know many thoughtful, respectful, and intelligent progressive/socialists that do not hold with that I am about going to post.

What you have just read is the face of the most dangerous and oppressive though process there is, period. People such as this would be the first to deny your right to free speech liberty, and your property. They represent the very worst of the progressive/socialist movement. Enough as I am sure the picture is clear.

The progressive/socialist movement loves to hate the truth. When spoken directly and honestly, with historical facts to back it up they go berserk in their attempt to invalidate the truth by any means possible.

I do not hold blindly to all the policies of any politician or government official I have supported or support to day. No one is perfect and every President in spite of any good they brought to the country they also made their mistakes.

I present now two videos. The first of Ronald Reagan talking the truth about progressivism/socialism. The about second Herbert Hoover, the man liberals loathe and have told more lies about than perhaps any politician in modern history.

Together they demonstrate the flawed thinking of the progressive/socialist as well as their propensity to lie to achieve their agenda.

Oh, and for what it's worth I agree with the libs with respect to the results of Herbert Hoover's policies, albeit not for the reasons they would like us all to believe. Hoover was in fact Roosevelt's big brother in the march to progressive/socialism.

Now some "real" history.

Yes indeed, I am tired, very tired of the misrepresentations of the progressive/socialist left to achieve their own ends. It has been going on for a hundred plus years and it will likely go on for a hundred plus more. That is why those who love liberty, self determination, and individualism must stay strong.

Tea Party Demonstrations More Peaceful Than Anti War Demonstrations

By: Les Carpenter III
Rational Nation USA

The irrational left wing media, pundits, and comedians have been all fired up over the Peaceful Tea Party demonstrations and other activities of this Patriot Movement.

The typical leftist tactics are  to slander, demonize, mock, belittle, fabricate... and anything else they can dream of to discredit the movement.

The truth however is that the activities of the Tea Party have been peaceful and free of violence. Candance Moore, reporting for NewsBusters had this to say...

"On Monday, the Christian Science Monitor bucked its mainstream peers by reporting something truthful about the TEA party movement: police officials have begun to relax security requirements at conservative rallies because of the remarkable absence of violence."

"Yes, you read that right: despite nonstop media warnings about hateful protests, violence from TEA party attendants is so nonexistent that police feel safe allowing them to bring large items and sometimes even guns."

"The Monitor was compelled to check things out when a TEA party in Raleigh, North Carolina, persuaded officials to overturn a ban on flag poles. Such items are typically banned because a flag pole is really just a very big stick that could be used as a weapon. The Monitor's research led the paper to admit that conservative protests are far less threatening than many past demonstrations."

These researched facts certainly do not sound like the violent Tea Party the lame stream media and pundits from the left would have us believe. But it needs to be understood the left is threatened by the rising tide of liberty. Because if the liberty movement succeeds, and I believe it will, the progressive socialist agenda is dead for perhaps another hundred or so years.

A tide is rising in America. A tide that will take back America from the special interests and an over bloated federal bureaucracy that is suffocating our nation. The political class and its complicit crony capitalists see the hand writing on the wall,. They along with their lame stream government/media complex are determined to destroy the movement that can change America. 2010 is fast approaching, the drum beat of liberty and a new beginning is being heard loud and clear.

Now for a little light NewsBusters video.

Are You Tired?

Every so often I receive e-mails that are, in my estimation worth passing on. Today one of those just happened to be in my in box. It was written by a Marine Vietnam Veteran who served five terms in the Massachusetts State Senate. He, like many of us are tired.

This American Patriot makes many valid points. Anyone with a modicum of rational sense, whether they are conservative, progressive, libertarian, or some other political leaning will have to agree.

His experiences throughout his life have been many. For a quick biological sketch please read here. He also maintains a blog which he calls "The Old Jarhead," which can be found here.

So without further editorial comment I present Robert A. Hall.

I'm 63 Except for one semester in college when jobs were scarce and a six-month period when I was between jobs, but job-hunting every day, I've worked, hard, since I was 18. Despite some health challenges, I still put in 50-hour weeks, and haven't called in sick in seven or eight years. I make a good salary, but I didn't inherit my job or my income, and I worked to get where I am. Given the economy, there's no retirement in sight, and I'm tired. Very tired.

I'm tired of being told that I have to "spread the wealth" to people who don't have my work ethic. I'm tired of being told the government will take the money I earned, by force if necessary, and give it to people too lazy to earn it.

I'm tired of being told that I have to pay more taxes to "keep people in their homes."  Sure, if they lost their jobs or got sick, I'm willing to help. But if they bought McMansions at three times the price of our paid-off, $250,000 condo, on one-third of my salary, then let the left-wing Congress-critters who passed Fannie and Freddie and the Community Reinvestment Act that created the bubble help them with their own money.

I'm tired of being told how bad  America  is by left-wing millionaires like Michael Moore, George Soros and Hollywood Entertainers who live in luxury because of the opportunities  America  offers. In thirty years, if they get their way, the United States  will have the economy of  Zimbabwe , the freedom of the press of  China , the crime and violence of  Mexico , the tolerance for Christian people of  Iran , and the freedom of speech of Venezuela .

I'm tired of being told that Islam is a "Religion of Peace," when every day I can read dozens of stories of Muslim men killing their sisters, wives and daughters for their family "honor"; of Muslims rioting over some slight offense; of Muslims murdering Christian and Jews because they aren't "believers"; of Muslims burning schools for girls; of Muslims stoning teenage rape victims to death for "adultery"; of Muslims mutilating the genitals of little girls; all in the name of Allah, because the Qur'an and Shari'a law tells them to.

I think it's very cool that we have a black president and that a black child is doing her homework at the desk where Lincoln  wrote the Emancipation Proclamation. I just wish the black president was Condi Rice, or someone who believes more in freedom and the individual and less arrogantly of an all-knowing government.

I'm tired of a news media that thinks Bush's fundraising and inaugural expenses were obscene, but that think Obama's, at triple the cost, were wonderful; that thinks Bush exercising daily was a waste of presidential time, but Obama exercising is a great example for the public to control weight and stress; that picked over every line of Bush's military records, but never demanded that Kerry release his; that slammed Palin, with two years as governor, for being too inexperienced for VP, but touted Obama with three years as senator as potentially the best president ever. Wonder why people are dropping their subscriptions or switching to Fox News Get a clue. I didn't vote for Bush in 2000, but the media and Kerry drove me to his camp in 2004.

I'm tired of being told that out of "tolerance for other cultures" we must let  Saudi Arabia  use our oil money to fund mosques and madrassa Islamic schools to preach hate in  America , while no American group is allowed to fund a church, synagogue or religious school in  Saudi Arabia  to teach love and tolerance.

I'm tired of being told I must lower my living standard to fight global warming, which no one is allowed to debate. My wife and I live in a two-bedroom apartment and carpool together five miles to our jobs. We also own a  three-bedroom condo where our daughter and granddaughter live. Our carbon footprint is about 5% of Al Gore's, and if you're greener than Gore, you're green enough.

I'm tired of being told that drug addicts have a disease, and I must help support and treat them, and pay for the damage they do. Did a giant germ rush out of a dark alley, grab them, and stuff white powder up their noses while they tried to fight it off? I don't think Gay people choose to be Gay, but I damn sure think druggies chose to take drugs. And I'm tired of harassment from cool people treating me like a freak when I tell them I never tried marijuana.

I'm tired of illegal aliens being called "undocumented workers," especially the ones who aren't working, but are living on welfare or crime. What's next?  Calling drug dealers, "Undocumented Pharmacists"?  And, no,  I'm not against Hispanics. Most of them are Catholic, and it's been a few hundred years since Catholics wanted to kill me for my religion.  I'm willing to fast track for citizenship any Hispanic person, who can speak English, doesn't have a criminal record and who is self-supporting without family on welfare, or who serves honorably for three years in our military.... Those are the citizens we need.

I'm tired of latte liberals and journalists, who would never wear the uniform of the Republic themselves, or let their entitlement-handicapped kids near a recruiting station, trashing our military. They and their kids can sit at home, never having to make split-second decisions under life and death circumstances, and bad mouth better people than themselves. Do bad things happen in war?  You bet. Do our troops sometimes misbehave?  Sure. Does this compare with the atrocities that were the policy of our enemies for the last fifty years and still are?  Not even close.  So here's the deal. I'll let myself be subjected to all the humiliation and abuse that was heaped on terrorists at Abu Ghraib or Gitmo, and the critics can let themselves be subject to captivity by the Muslims, who tortured and beheaded Daniel Pearl in Pakistan, or the Muslims who tortured and murdered Marine Lt. Col. William Higgins in Lebanon, or the Muslims who ran the blood-spattered Al Qaeda torture rooms our troops found in Iraq, or the Muslims who cut off the heads of schoolgirls in Indonesia, because the girls were Christian. Then we'll compare notes. British and American soldiers are the only troops in history that civilians came to for help and handouts, instead of hiding from in fear.

I'm tired of people telling me that their party has a corner on virtue and the other party has a corner on corruption. Read the papers; bums are bipartisan. And I'm tired of people telling me we need bipartisanship. I live in  Illinois , where the "Illinois Combine" of Democrats has worked to loot the public for years. Not to mention the tax cheats in Obama's cabinet.

I'm tired of hearing wealthy athletes, entertainers and politicians of both parties talking about innocent mistakes, stupid mistakes or youthful mistakes, when we all know they think their only mistake was getting caught. I'm tired of people with a sense of entitlement, rich or poor.

Speaking of poor, I'm tired of hearing people with air-conditioned homes, color TVs and two cars called poor. The majority of Americans didn't have that in 1970, but we didn't know we were "poor." The poverty pimps have to keep changing the definition of poor to keep the dollars flowing.

I'm real tired of people who don't take responsibility for their lives and actions. I'm tired of hearing them blame the government, or discrimination or big-whatever for their problems.

Yes, I'm tired. But I'm also glad to be 63. Because, mostly, I'm not going to have to see the world these people are making...... I'm just sorry for my granddaughter.
