Grandma Pelosi in Search for a Remnant of Her Former Power

What? Oh no! I just lost the house speakership. But wait, there is always the minority whip's slot. I can at least retain a semblance of the power I once had and so crave!

Power is a hard thing to give up for some. For those of Pelosi's power hungry ilk it is damn near  impossible.

Certainly  the minority whip's position does not afford the dictatorial powers this women assumed as Speaker of the House. But it would certainly give her the control and power she craves over her fellow Democrats in the new Congress. She no doubt is operating under the illusion the Dems will regain control of the House in 2012 and she will one again be able to force her liberal progressive agenda down the throats of the American people.

There is however just one small sticking point for this power hungry Madame. Moderate members of her own party are lining up against her bid for the minority whip. Seems there are some on the Democratic side that actually got the message of the mid term elections and are set to oppose her bid should she continue to pursue the position.

Excerpts from a Fox News Report by Mary Henneberg and the Associated Press.
Rep. Joe Donnelly, D-Ind., said he was "disappointed that Speaker Pelosi is going to seek the position of Minority Leader."

Rep. Larry Kissell's office said he hopes Pelosi "will change her mind and step aside."
Rep. Dan Boren of Oklahoma told Fox News that voters sent a message Tuesday that they want the Democratic Party to move in a new direction.
"They want someone to lead the party who is going to be bipartisan," he said. "This is very disappointing for a lot of us in the center."
Rep. Heath Shuler, of North Carolina, has said he might challenge Pelosi because the party needs a more moderate leader.
But even some longtime supporters of Pelosi said she needed to step aside as the party leader.
"I voted for everything she asked me to vote for," said Rep. Albio Sires, D-N.J. "You know, sometimes in this business it's difficult to know when to move on."
Even when more pragmatic and centrist members of her own party, ones  who realize America is seeking a more centrist or conservative direction voice their concerns this power hungry manipulator presses on.

But wait a minute. The more I think about it perhaps us conservatives should be pulling for her to become minority whip. After all what better position for her to hold where she can continue to do the most damage to the far out leftist progressive agenda she pushes.

Perhaps the most effective way to get rid of her and her agenda is for the Dems to give the American electorate more of what they voted against on November 2, 2010... Just sayin.

  1. It is pretty amazing that the dems refuse to see the writing on the wall... that it was their unpopular legislation that is at the root of their problems at the polls. Of course the economy had an impact too, but if you look at the polls over the past couple years, every time they are debating and/or passing a major bill that isn't popular, they lose support with independents.

But partisan myopic thinking begets more of the same.
