Chris Walsh... Tenth Amendment Center Article

Chris Walsh, fellow conservative blogger over at my thoughts on freedom recently had his first article published in the Tenth Amendment Center. A strong advocate of limited government he offers an intriguing alternatives to stem the growth of our Leviathan federal government and return more power to the states.

Here are a couple breif excerpts from his article:
The federal government relies on plunder, mainly in the form of income taxes, to feed it’s overreaching tentacles and this is perfectly Constitutional as set forth in Article I, Section 8, Clause 1 along with the Sixteenth Amendment. These do not however specify how these taxes are to be collected and currently the Internal Revenue Service is charged with this task.

But what if the states had the ability to take control of the purse strings and starve the beast back to it’s enumerated powers? We the people, through our state legislatures would have the ability to affirm what we believe the role and oversight of the federal government should be in our daily lives through a Federal Tax Escrow Account.

    Brilliant article!

    The States should always have sovereignty, in all matters, be they fiscal, moral, or societal. The Federal government needs to take care of the mail, the highways, and national security.

    My two cents.

April Job Numbers Appear Improved... Are They Really?

The good news is unemployment fell to a four year low, certainly at year six in Obama's Presidential tenure strikes a positive note. Or does it? At the same time the number of people employed part time rose as well as strong indications are showing the Affordable Care Act (ACA aka ObamaCare) will have a long term negative impact on the USA economy. The following is an interesting analysis and one that certainly has some credibility. When "their side" has nothing of substance to offer, and they known it, posters such as the one below become popular. Such posters are considered intellectual by the teabag folks on the right. To be balanced such posters do find their way onto left-wing weblogs. The difference? Posters on left-wing sights generally carry a valid message and the commentary factually supports the message of the post. Some random commentary from the tea-publican weblog follows. It's Going To Be Close, Brace Yourself For Continued Polarization of America, Especially if Obama Loses...

However, my take is the shift, as significant as it has been, came too late and too little.
