  1. I'm not a big Herbie Mann fan, but Miles Davis (pre-Bitches Brew) and Charlie Parker are right up my alley. I love old school, smokey room jazz. Winton Marsalis is about the only current jazz artist I like.

    I love Ray Charles, too, but that's not jazz. He was quite an artist. I highly recommend the movie Ray. They did a really good job on his life and his music.
