Undocumented Immigrants... The Progressives White Wash

Rational Nation USA

It never ceases to amaze me how the progressives of this nation can find terms to redefine,  and thereby attempt change the publics perception of reality. Immigration is just one such issue.

Common sense and logic tells us there are two types of immigrants. The first type is the legal immigrant. Individuals who come to this country in search of  new a beginning. They obtain the proper documentation, follow the rules, and most often become United States Citizens. The second type is the illegal immigrant. The ones who sneak across our borders and obviously fail to gain documentation. Unless it is perhaps bogus identification bought through illegal channels. A clear distinction. The first has a right to be in our country. The second does not.

The progressive  mindset views illegal immigrants as "undocumented immigrants", conveniently leaving out the illegality of their presence amongst us. Not to mention the reality that many of these illegals are taking jobs that this nation's citizens could and would preform, were it not for the illegals undercutting the labor market with their willingness to work for minimum wages, or less.

Think Progress had this to say in response the Marg Baker, a GOP state house candidate in Florida:

Speaking at a rally sponsored by Glenn Beck’s 9/12 Project, GOP state house candidate in Florida, Marg Baker, endorsed building concentration camps for undocumented immigrants:
We can follow what happened back in the 40s or 50s. I was just a little girl in Miami, and they built camps for the people that snuck into the country, because they were illegal. They put them in the camps, and they shipped them back. We can do that
Candidate Baker's comments:

Think Progress:

It’s not clear just what camps Baker is referring to, but in the 1940s, the United States did indeed build a series of concentration camps detaining thousands of Japanese-Americans. Years later, President Ronald Reagan signed an official apology for America’s brief experiment with concentration camps. Baker should pay heed to Reagan’s example.

The concentration camps in this country during World War II, set up under a the democratic administration of FDR were in fact a national disgrace. The actions were driven by hysteria over the bombing of Pearl Harbor by the Japanese, and the incorrectly perceived notion Japanese Americans would somehow pose a threat to America. Reagan, a republican, was correct in his decision to apologize for America's mistake.

However, lets not forget those Japanese Americans were in our country legally and were US citizens. Their citizenship (or legal status) gave them the right to be on our shores. The attempt by Think Progress to liken the Japanese American's internment in concentration camps to the detention and exportation off undocumented illegal immigrants today is both disingenuous and of flawed logic.

While Marg Baker may have used a poor choice of reference, her stance for tough immigration policy, and the deportation of illegal immigrants from our shores has merit.

  1. Distortion and obfuscation are the foundation and cornerstone of the Democratic party. They've turned the 14th Amendment discussion about anchor babies into "the Republicans want to restore Dred Scott." Worse, whole cohorts of naive, unthinking liberals actually believe it...

    Ignorance is a formidable enemy...

  2. I wonder what is being said at LaRazza meetings.
I have no problem with people coming her "legally" either. I don't get why that is such a difficult concept.
I tuned into to Rachel Maddow for a mere 5 minutes holding my nose of course and her spew was inciting more racism. People don't even care about the plight of Arizona and what impact of cost and crime illegals are having on them.
She was talking about AZ privatizing prisons and then went on to say that if they put more immigrants in them they can make more money.
I swear if that woman said that to my face I would have to restrain myself.
Arizona state can no longer afford the cost of incarcerating people so it was a cost savings on their part and here you have people like her inciting race again.
They are the ones setting the racism tone in this country and the left just keeps attacking FOX acusing them of racsim and people belive it without any proof because again the left wing media drives the message.

  3. The obvious way to get rid of illegal workers in this country is to aggressively prosecute businesses and individuals that hire them. If there were no jobs available for illegals, there would be no illegals.

It's the demand side that matters. Yet we continue to treat illegal immigration as a supply side problem. It's not rational.

  4. Non - On this I agree. So go tell Obama and the rest of the progressive collectivists as well as the RHINO republicans.

They are both guilty. Or clueless. You take your pick.
