A House Resolution That Makes Damn Good Sense!

While many, if not most in Washington D.C. were watching the primary election results yesterday the House was busy with important business... Passing a resolution in support of beer.

Representative Betsy Markey of Colorado sponsored House Resolution 1297 that supports "the goals and ideals of American Craft Beer Week."

Here is a resolution I am sure finding common ground and bipartisanship for was definitely not an issue!

Representative Markey went on to say this...

"We've got quite a number of microbreweries and entrepreneurs that are creating jobs, and we wanted to celebrate that this is a craft," Markey told POLITICO.


"I think beer has been a tradition since this country was founded," said Markey. "We wanted to celebrate entrepeneurship — and good beer!" 

Markey is obviously partial to brews from her home state of Colorado, but she won't claim a favorite.

"You can't just have one," said Markey. "It really depends on what mood you're in. Sometimes, I like a light beer — I might want a Skinny Dip — or otherwise prefer a heavier brew."

As I read this I thought... Would anybody vote against this? And if so why? I decided they wouldn't and for damn obvious and pleasant reasons!

"It does seem like a no brainer," said Markey.

April Job Numbers Appear Improved... Are They Really?

The good news is unemployment fell to a four year low, certainly at year six in Obama's Presidential tenure strikes a positive note. Or does it? At the same time the number of people employed part time rose as well as strong indications are showing the Affordable Care Act (ACA aka ObamaCare) will have a long term negative impact on the USA economy. The following is an interesting analysis and one that certainly has some credibility. AEI - US job growth in April beat economist expectations as nonfarm payrolls rose 165,000, and the jobless rate fell to a four-year low of 7.5%.
