Another Sign Of Irrationality From The United Nations

Rational Nation USA

The United Nations, in it's irrational and perverted sense of  right, just elected Iran to the U.N.'s Commission on the Status of Woman.

Without fanfare or explanation the body that continues to prove itself worthless (IMO) awarded a four year seat to the the Islamic Republic of Iran. A state that denies women basic human rights, and in fact enshrines stoning a d lashings in law. The gruesome picture above is one of an Iranian women who has been abused and without any means to defend herself. But the United Nations apparently finds it sensible to reward a nation with a horrendous record on womens rights with a seat on this council.

The professed purpose of the Commission on the Status of Women is dedication to gender equality and advancement of women. Perhaps the U.N. views the denial of basic human rights to woman, combined with physical abuse to be an "advancement." This body has no shame apparently.

What is most startling is Iran was elected by acclamation. This means that no open vote was requested or required by any member state. That includes the United States. Hmm... could it be that in an effort to Pander to the Islamic Republic the POTUS gave the word to be silent.? I find it interesting that just after leading the effort to keep Iran off  The Human Rights Council  the U.S. was silent on this. Makes me wonder.

Critics of Iran's human rights record have stated that Iran has systematically taken "every conceivable step" to deny women's equality."

A quote from Reuters;

"In the past year, it has arrested and jailed mothers of peaceful civil rights protests." It has charged women who were seeking equality in the social sphere --as wives, daughters, and mothers --  with threatening national security, subjecting them to hours of harrowing interrogation. It's prison guards have beaten, tortured, sexually assaulted and raped female and male civil rights protesters."

What this nation, and the rest of the nations that think of womens rights rationally ought to do is stand and condemn in unison Iran's human and civil rights violations. Not reward them with a seat on The Commission on the Status of Women.

  1. I have believed since my youth that the U.S. needs to dissolve it's ties with the United Nations. In the least, we should not be supporting them with U.S. taxpayer dollars!

  2. We not only need to dissolve our ties with the UN, we need to actively fight against it, since the UN is decidedly against everything that the Founders established. The first step of border security should be to give the UN the bum's rush.

  3. LCR & Bastiatarian - I could not agree more.

When one considers a one world order/government concept the first thing that naturally comes to mind is the U.N.

The U.N. is the worldwide socialists dream.

  4. Isn't having Iran act as some sort of helpful advisory on women's rights akin to having Archie Bunker act as head of some kind of Ethnic Diversity and Sensitivity committee?

The UN is, in every sense of the word, evil. They have an agenda that is evil. One World Order...yep, it's the UN that will help to bring this about.

Conspiracy theorist or unhinged Christian? Nah. I'm a realist who sees what's what. Just watch. One day the baby blue berets of the UN will be seen on US soil, and not in a good way.

  5. Don - I fear your observations are correct.

It really comes as no surprize to me. Being one who has always had an interest in history the evil of which you speak really dates back to Woodrow Wilson and The League of Nations.

This is not to say any particular person is evil, but rather the philosophy of socialism and one world order/government at its root is evil.

Nations lose their independence and individuals their liberty.

  6. Iran to oversee the status of women? Why am I not surprised at all?

  7. In the midst of all the UN and liberal bashing anyone hereabouts notice the unfolding environmental disaster in Louisiana?

Or is that just more left-wing propaganda?

  8. Just what you'd expect from the International House of Scandal and Corruption.

The UN is the world's largest single gathering of perverts and diabolical criminals on the face of the earth.

They make a mockery of everything that is good. To take a line from Dennis Prager, if I ever find myself in agreement with something they say or do, I reconsider my position, for I must be wrong.

  9. Arthurstone - We noticed. The incidents timing seems peculiar.

However, to my knowledge, and I have not followed all the recent news because of personal family circumstances, I am not saying this is necessarily left wing propaganda.

  10. SilverFiddle - Well said. The IHOSAC, a great acronym for a useless and evil organization.
