Jail Time For Failing To Do Your Duty And Purchase National Health Care Insurance

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi just went on record that jail time for failing to purchase state mandated health care is very fair and indeed, by inference, unpatriotic not to do so. There we have it, another pitch for state mandated and run national health care.  it is your obligation and patriotic duty.


Of course the socialist/statist argument is this; individuals without health care coverage will obtain the services and pass the cost on to the rest of us. Gee, let me think a moment. Hey, how about this for a solution? If an 18 to 35 year old in good health, exercises his or her right not to purchase health care they will likely will not use and save say $2500 - $3000 per annum, does it not follow logically that they made a free choice and in doing so accepted the risks associated with that choice?


Sounds reasonable to me. Even rational. Individuals have a right to chose their own destiny, and a personal responsibility to make rational decisions affecting their lives. But not being a socialist or a statist it is remarkably simple and logical to draw rational conclusions.

The good news is unemployment fell to a four year low, certainly at year six in Obama's Presidential tenure strikes a positive note. Or does it? At the same time the number of people employed part time rose as well as strong indications are showing the Affordable Care Act (ACA aka ObamaCare) will have a long term negative impact on the USA economy.
