Hope and Change - Obama Style

The people throughout the land, hearing of the anointed one's legendary wisdom, grew anxious and hungry to hear his sweet words. The promise of Hope and Change proceeded him as he visited villages and metropolises all across this land of ours.

The long night of Bush the Terrible had left the people weary and wondering if America, the beloved country, would, indeed could, ever be the same again. The years of Bush the Terrible, who had kept the people free of terrorist attack, had taxed the people's patience and they longed for the promise of Hope and Change.

As the wisdom of the anointed one spread  his following grew. Millions listened, and the glimmer of Hope and Change grew brighter almost by the day.

The anointed one, with words as sleek as silk promised the people of the land peace when he brought our tired men and women home from their long night of  discontent. Seeing the people without health insurance he promised them universal health coverage. Seeing the countries looming financial crises he promised transparency, accountability, and fairness.

The vision of Hope and Change grew. The anointed one touched millions everywhere he traveled. The crowds grew and the people knew he would bring a better day and a better life. As the anointed ones promise of Hope and Change filled the days, weeks, and months it seemed as if the peoples prayers had been answered.

And so it came to pass the anointed one, with his vision of Hope and Change filling the air, was chosen by the people to be their Exalted President. And the people believed the long night of Bush the terrible was at an end. For surely the Exalted President would usher in fiscal sanity, peace and prosperity, restore respect throughout the world for America, and return our country to transparency as our founding fathers would want.

As time passed the people began to see the promise of  Hope and Change was somehow different. It was not as sweet as the people had tasted when the anointed one spoke his sweet and sleek words during the bright days of the new beginning.

It soon seemed to be more about the wishes of the Exalted President rather than the will of the people.

First came the economic stimulus package, known as the bailout, and all future generations shall pay the price thereof.

Then the partial nationalization of the auto industry, to save the businesses that failed to survive on their own.

Next, the national health care proposal, to cost a trillon dollars with the promise that is will eventually be cost neutral. Future generation will pay the cost.

To win the hearts of the world the Exalted President showed concern and sensitivity for the environment and so called global warming.

Cap and trade was soon on the agenda to help with the efforts to curb our industrial emissions and give our competitors the competitive advantage.

Many slick words, and unquestioned wisdom were spread far and wide as the Exalted President traveled through the globe spreading apologies for the way in which our nation conducted itself on the world stage.

The anointed and wise one spread the subliminal message that American capitalism was bad. That it was selfish, and that America, the most charitable nation in the world who has improved the life of untold millions through its generosity needed to kneel and do even more.

Siren songs of altruism and collectivism could be heard if one was but listening.

As the people began to see that Hope and Change was about more than improving the dark days of Bush the Terrible, they began to wonder. And so the Exalted Presidents approval ratings began to slide. Slide to under 50 percent of the people approving of his exalted leadership.

And came the tea baggers and the town hall meetings, all to express concern over the increased fiscal irresponsibility. And their cries fell on deaf ears. for the Exalted President cared not what the people said.

The Exalted President, governing a land in which free speech and the free expression of ideas is guaranteed by our constitution, decided to attack an independent news outlet for having the audacity to question the emerging socialist/statist government.

And so some of the people saw Hope and Change for what the Exalted President had meant during the bright days of campaigning. And they did not like it.

Some who had studied history, and the mechanisms of revolution came to know that the Exalted President, with his newly appointed and accountable to no one but himself Czars, had an evil agenda.

The Exalted President was not concerned with the values of the nation he ruled. The values of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Nor was he concerned about the the rights of the individual above the collective. Nor did he understand the the American system of capitalism was responsible for creating the freest and wealthiest nation on earth.

Our anointed and Exalted President, as the people soon came to realize, was more concerned about power for himself and his minions than the people. The Anointed ones dream was becoming apparent, as well as disturbing. The question became, shall the one with the sleek rhetoric, and promise of Hope and Change, lull what was once an objective and free nation to sleep with the siren songs of altruism, socialism, and the one world order?

We will have to wait to answer  that important question until 2012. The loss of ones freedom can happen gradually.
